Fantastic stay from start to finish.

The location was amazing, and the cottage had everything we needed and more. We brought our four dogs with us, and they had a wonderful time too. The dedicated dog field was a fantastic addition, giving them plenty of space to run and play safely. The cottage is perfectly situated for exploring Anglesey’s beautiful coastline and charming villages, making it an ideal base for sightseeing. The bathroom was spacious, with a super-powerful shower that was much appreciated after a day out exploring. The huge bath and endless hot water were an added bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

Second stay at the cottages, very homely, good for dogs and will return again!

This was a fantastic cottage.

We had all we need and it was perfect for our two little dogs. Property was very clean and well looked after. Amazing shower. Would highly recommend.

A lovely property close to the beaches

The place was perfect for the wife and me.

We had our 4 small dogs with us and it was a pleasant stay.The dog's could go in and out at leisure, as the garden was secure. Would recommend staying .

Lovely accommodation.

Clean and well-maintained. Both beds were very comfortable. Loved the mezzanine level! Kitchen offered everything we needed. And we even managed to get a fire going when we needed it!

The Shipon is a very nice place to stay .

It’s quiet , very modern and comfortable and nicer than the photographs show . It’s a gated area too which provides a feeling of safety . There are stables and a couple of horses that we saw . I mention this for dog owners to consider as you are able to walk the dogs round the small paddock over looking the training area which is close by . Our dogs are small so they didn’t see the horses. In the cottage the spiral staircase is a bit of a challenge at first so anyone with mobility issues would be able to sleep in the ground floor bedroom .The mezzanine area is spacious with a day bed as well as the king size bed . The kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils, cutlery, microwave etc. ( don’t forget your tea towels) . and we were grateful for the dishwasher tablets , bin bags coffee and tea sachets etc. The water pressure is strong and the shower is very good. There is a cottage next door but as the weather was quite bad we didn’t get to sit outside. But all of it - cottage and outside area is lovely and we will definitely be back . There was just the two of us with two small non shedding dogs so I can’t comment on four or five people with dogs using it. It’s perfect for a couple though. No complaints , apart from the weather we had a lovely time .

Well appointed, spotlessly clean, comfortable cottage in a beautiful setting.

There was a paddock dedicated for dog exercise which was really useful. Centrally placed making it easy to get to all parts of the island. There’s also an excellent farm shop at the end of the road! We would definitely stay there again if visiting Anglesey.

We stayed here as a base to walk sections of the Anglesey Coastal Path.

I’d definitely stay here again, modern, clean & comfortable. Nothing to fault.

A lovely stay in the cottage.

Ideal for a couple and dog as very dog friendly and safe garden at the back. Lovely and comfortable great for a few days of exploring nearby places. A lovely beach within a 10minutes drive.

What an amazing find this cottage was, it’s situated in a lovely complex of a few other cottages.

We had 2 bedrooms - both were very comfy. The shower was really powerful which we loved. Each cottage has a little garden at the back ideal for the dog & with 2 sun loungers. There is also an orchard that you can let your dog off for a run. Our stay was definitely helped by the weather which was glorious. There is everything in the kitchen that you need. The Owners dad was so so lovely & helpful & was often pottering about doing little jobs. We will return again - thank you

It's the second time that I've stayed at Anglesey Welsh Cottages (previously, it was No.

3, The Dairy) and once again, the quality of the accommodation was absolutely superb! I can't fault the farm, the location and the hosts who are just extremely helpful whenever you need them. Many thanks Claire and will definitely be back in 2025!

Owners very friendly and helpful

Beautiful cottage surrounded by gorgeous mature shrubs and gardens.

The property was clean, very well equipped, super fast Wi-Fi, exceptionally comfortable king size bed, one of the best showers we have used, we could not ask for more. The fully enclosed garden was perfect for us and our two little dogs to relax in after a morning exploring. Nos 4 the Shippon was perfectly situated for our days out and we found the owners so friendly and helpful, please thank the owners Dad who although busy always found time to chat. The highlight for us was the low light pollution and sitting outside at night on the recliners staring at literally thousands of stars was truly a magical experience. We were so sorry to leave and hope to return in 2025. Many thanks to all. Lars and Cindy.

I’m 92 years old, stayed here for a week with friends close by in the next door but one cottage.

Hosts couldn’t have been more helpful, looked out for me and adjusted the heating to ensure I was warm enough, and made sure I was well looked after. Thank you so much!

The best maintained place we ever stayed.

Everytime, we go away for a break we have to think for our kid with ASD and the property didn't disappointed us. Our kid was mermarised looking at the burning fire. The property did allowed him to explore nature more closely and helped him to get the best out of him. It turned out to be the theraputic retreat for us. And would love to go back again. Time literally flies too quickly in the propert. It would be nice if there is a clock and a calander to keep the track of time.

Great location for exploring the island, very clean and comfortable accommodation

This is the 1st time we have ever returned to the same property for a holiday as, after staying last Aug, we started looking for a place this June and couldn’t find anywhere that compared favourably to The Shippon!

The property is so ideally placed for reaching all 4 corners of the island and is perfect for us and our 2 dogs with the enclosed garden, stone floors and the main bedroom being on the ground floor. It feels like our 2nd home now so we’ve already rebooked for Sept!!

Cottage was lovely, clean and well presented.

The garden was beautiful, lots of beautiful shrubs and birds. I haven’t slept so well for a long time. Very quiet and comfortable bed.

Great holiday cottage and really enjoyed our stay.

No local literature, no visitors book (which is always good for food recommendations).

No welcome pack, except for a few tea bags and sugar sachets in a dirty plastic box. I have full mobility but the stairs were a challenge! In fact I slept on the sofa all week. Coffee table needed, as suggested in previous reviews. We used 2 dining chairs instead. Lovely bedding but awful cutlery. Otherwise very clean, nice garden.

Absolutely superb cottage in every way.

Couldn't have been happier. Spotlessly clean warm and comfortable in the most pleasant surroundings. We will be back!

A cosy, comfortable stay with lovely, friendly owners in hand if needed.

The accommodation was clean, well equipped and to a high standard. The surrounding gardens and outdoor areas would be lovely in the summer. We were particularly interested in the enclosed dog exercising field on site , but it was temporarily unavailable. The local beaches were great. Thanks to the owners for their generous welcome pack and all they did to make our Christmas so special.

Fantastic place and so tranquil.

Just what we needed. Shower was amazing and the bed was really comfy. Everything we needed was available, including some extras such as cool block and ice cube tray. Only thing missing was a footstool as it would have been great to put our feet up after a long day of walking.

We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend / stay again - friendly hosts, lovely accommodation, facilities and grounds which was perfect for the dogs for the times we weren't out and about, as well as a nice garden area to enjoy out the back.

Our 17 year old loved having the mezzanine level to himself and the enclosed garden was brilliant for our 2 big bears! We also loved the grounds and being able to let the dogs off in the doggy field, wander round the orchard and stroke the horses. Hayden and Claire couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful - thanks for making our stay so lovely.

2nd visit to this group of cottages, Claire very cannot do enough for you, both cottages very clean, good quality fixtures and fittings with everything you need.

Secure gardens in all the cottages for our 4legged friends. Will be staying again in September.

We have been to the cottages before with the previous owners where the large fields were used for the dog exercising area.

However this time the only dog exercising area is a small fenced off area previous used for chickens. So we were a little disappointed that the larger fields weren't available however the the cottage, location and friendliness of the owners is great and would recommend. May be clearly state on the listing the dog exercising area is small.

The Shippon is in a fabulous location.

Peaceful with pretty gardens and great views. Easy to reach many beaches around Anglesey. However, we felt the cottage lacked comfort in the lounge with just one small sofa and a tub chair and no coffee table. The mezzanine room had more furniture than the lounge did. Also, absolutely no reading material or maps which we are used to finding in holiday cottages.

Gas oven a bit tricky otherwise ok

A great little cottage, very well presented with all of the facilities that we needed.

Our Son particularly liked the mezzanine bedroom. Like the rest of Anglesey the cottage and area are both very dog friendly, with an enclosed patio area, and a communal secure area where we could let her off the lead. The owners left us to it during our stay, but when we did run into them they were extremely friendly and welcoming.

Fabulous cottage,the whole complex was lovely…location was perfect,everything easily accessible that we wanted to do on our stay…We’ve already recommended to friends looking to stay on the island and we’ll definitely be back again!

This was a holiday to give our two grandchildren their first taste of Wales.

My wife and I usually stay in hotels so self-catering was something different. We definitely made the right choice by using Sykes to find this hidden gem in the centre of Anglesey which, while accessed via a chain of country lanes, could not have been more convenient for exploring the island and other parts of North Wales. The owners are to be congratulated for the high standards they maintain both inside the property and in the grounds outside. We would not hesitate to recommend No 4 The Shippon to others.

I have enjoyed my stay at the shippon.

There were several light bulbs gone , the reading lamp, the light over the mirror, plus a spot light in bathroom too, The outside light didn't come on either .The extractor fan in the bathroom needed cleaning and so too the door and generally a good wipe down it got very steamy. I was upstairs and could have done with a mirror so I could dry my hair , had to use my friends mirror in her room ? On the plus side the kitchen was well equipped and we cooked several times . The Beds were comfy and clean lovely white towels , TV was good and lounge area comfy, patio was useful , needs another sun chair to provide more comfort .my dog was happy and the facilities for toileting him was good . we didnt use the heating , as it was warm enough. Very happy to go again , family were friendly and helpful .

This is the perfect location for exploring Anglesey it's very central and the facilities are excellent.

Lovely property.

Very clean and beautifully set out and decorated. Centrally located for exploring the island. Quiet location which is what we wanted. Hosts were pleasant and accommodating. We had issue with underfloor heating in bedroom and they responded quickly to try and sort it out. Would certainly visit again.
