Tyn Y Celyn Isaf

The holiday cottage far exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived.

Every room was spacious and beautifully presented, each with its own en‑suite, which made the stay incredibly comfortable. Our host, Catrin, was truly exceptional — kind, generous, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. She greeted us on arrival, made us feel instantly welcome, and even ensured we had access to fresh eggs every day. The kitchen was fully equipped with every utensil imaginable, making cooking effortless. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus, especially with the fantastic weather we enjoyed while celebrating our 50th birthday. The views from the cottage were stunning; sitting outside with a morning or evening coffee, simply watching the world go by, slowed our pace and reminded us to appreciate what’s right on our doorstep. We explored nearby places, including a day trip to Wrexham, and on our final evening we visited the local pub, The Glan Llyn, where the food was outstanding. We genuinely did not want to leave. We even took some of the cottage’s cards to recommend it to friends and family, and we will certainly be returning. A truly memorable stay.

What a fabulous location, the views are breathtaking at sunset.

The owner was excellent, friendly and welcoming, happy to help if needed although we had no issues, everything was brilliant. We found the road access was better from the second turnoff, brings you through the village rather than down the bumpy road.

We had a fantastic stay at this cottage in Ruthin, Wales.

From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. It was such a thoughtful touch to be greeted with fresh eggs and a delicious cake waiting for us. The accommodation itself is absolutely beautiful-spotlessly clean, cosy, and finished to a really high standard. Honestly, the pictures online don’t do it justice at all; it’s even more stunning in person. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. We’d definitely love to come back!

We have had an amazing stay.

The property is perfect for a family getaway. It had everything you could possibly need and more! The house is huge, extremely comfortable and spotless. We certainly made full use of the large hot tub which is great as it is also under cover, perfect for the unpredictable weather. Catrin, the owner is lovely and extremely welcoming and goes the extra mile to make your stay extra special. She is an excellent host and provided us with eggs, wine and cake which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone and would definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay, the property is perfect and the host goes that extra mile to make your stay the best.

Perfect place, the family were very kind.

Bringing us eggs, toilet paper or any kind of help we needed. thanks so much

Lovely property, exactly as described and ideal for a large adult group.

Always warm with plenty of seating for everyone (which is not always the case in some properties) and finished to a high standard. The added benefit of en-suites for all bedrooms makes this property quite special in the market. The owner was welcoming and very helpful and kindly kept us constantly supplied with eggs; she also left us a lovely welcome basket of wine, fudge and cake! Beautiful views from the upstairs panoramic window and extremely quiet and peaceful. The one (very minor) issue we had was dealt with immediately which is the sign of a caring owner (we needed an extra fork...I know, first world problems!). We would not hesitate to recommend both the property and the owner if you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful break to recharge the batteries.

We had an amazing weekend at Catrin’s celebrating two 30th birthdays.

The house was stunning, had everything we needed and more! Hot tub and pool table were great fun. Catrin was so attentive and made our stay really special.

We stayed for a family celebration for a week.

The house was amazing with everything you need to have a lovely time away. The house is massive with plenty of bathrooms in every room. Hot tub and pool table were well used by us all. The owner was lovely and was happy to help throughout our stay providing us with eggs when we needed them. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone.

A beautiful property, and them views were amazing.

A comfortable, spacious, clean and warm rooms. The grandkids loved exploring and the hottub. We enjoyed walking, and found rambling brookes through the natural landscape. The grandchildren, of course found a kids play park. Which they enjoyed. We had a delicious meal at Ruthin Castle. Worth a visit. The owner Catrin was so lovely, treated us to wine, fudge, cake and delicious free range eggs. We would definitely stay here again.

Owner was lovely, left us some bits for our stay and was very helpful when we arrived.

House was perfect. We would stay here again.

This was our second visit to TYC, and was just as good as the first time.

A fabulous property with lots of room for everyone. Its great to have an ensuite in every bedroom. Catrin is an excellent and attentive host. Would thoroughly recommend this property.

We absolutely loved our stay here, what a beautiful part of the world to visit and our holiday home for the week was luxurious and welcoming.

Absolutely perfect for what we needed as a large family group of varying ages. Our hostess was so kind and thoughtful too, we’ll definitely book again.

Excellent location and property, truly is even bigger and better than appears on photos!

Perfect getaway spot with stunning views - 10/10, highly recommend!

A great property all round.

The owners were lovely people, very accommodating - they left us plenty of eggs and some wine upon arrival. The views are great. There is a utility room, which isn’t shown on the pictures. It has a big fridge and a big freezer for those wondering. Highly recommend this property

This is a fabulous property, Plenty of space in all rooms, Immaculately.

clean, with beautiful views.

Fantastic weekend to celebrate my 70 birthday.

Accommodation Fantastic clean and tidy. The host was very welcoming and helpful. Fantastic setting. Yes we will be booking again and we would recommend to our friends.

We had a great stay, the eggs and welcome pack were fantastic, the owners were very helpful and friendly.

We stayed here for a weekend and it was fantastic.

It was very remote and peaceful. The host was amazing. She couldn’t do enough, ensuring we had everything we needed. The house was immaculate and beautiful. We will absolutely be returning to this location.

We had a great time in this cottage.

It was so spacious and for nine women we appreciated the number of bathrooms. The views are so picturesque. The owner would pop by a couple of times to make sure everything was ok and also left us free range eggs and wine :) We are booking again for next year!

We were a party of 10 ( 5 Couples ) the property was very spacious and equipped with everything we could wish for.

All the bedrooms are ensuite immaculate decor. The welcome pack was superb and took the whole week to consume

An amazing house, fabulous accommodation, but even more- wonderful owners who bent over backwards for us.

We arrived with a car that needed immediate repairs and Bruce and Catryn arranged it all- including taking the car to the garage on a trailer and picking up when repaired! Highly recommended- but not the days we want it for!!

Absolutely fabulous holiday in a lovey house surrounded by amazing scenery.

Lovely owners left us a lovely welcome with wine and lovely snacks. Would definitely recommend for a family get together xx

Such a beautiful location!

Stunning views of the rolling countryside around. The house has been wonderfully converted from former barns and provides spacious high-spec accommodation. The kitchen is well-stocked and there is bags of room for 10 people. We were a family of 10 staying for the weekend and we cooked and stayed in both nights - plenty of room to sit round the table and play games and chat. Lovely and very helpful owner Kathetine lives in a property next door and is on hand for any probs. Hot tub is all ready for you to use and you have such scenic views when you are sitting in it. Perfect!

We are very happy with the property.

.the games room was a great hit with us all. Bedrooms were amazing. So comfy and quiet. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need for a family of 8 adults. Hot tub was a knock out to..used most days. A lovely welcome pack...a big surprise for us all. Our hosts was lovely and nothing was too much for them. Fantastic views with various animals..sheep,horses rabbits ..pheasants and don't forget the birds. All in all a brilliant holiday had by all. Highly recommended. Sue and family

We had a lovely break, it’s a fantastic house and was perfect for 9 of us, so cosy and comfortable.

Catrin the host and her partner were so helpful, providing us with fresh eggs, welcome wine and cakes and even Easter eggs for our children! So kind. They also helped us out with our WiFi issue and were always on hand to help. We found it very easily but some better directions might have been helpful as none were provided by Sykes.

It was an absolutely beautiful cottage, and was very clean the owner was so friendly and kind.

The cottage was in a lovely place would definitely recommend.

We had such a nice time in this cottage.

The hot tub was a hit along with the pool table. We would definitely recommend a stay here. We did visit the grounds of Ruthin castle, Conway and Llandudno. Was a nice break away. The owner was lovely and was on hand if there were any problems. No problems arose.

Superb house and accommodation.

Amazing place and host.

We all had an amazing time

We had the best stay ever the house is stunning, all the bedrooms are a great size and every room was spotless.

The owner was very attentive and checked we were okay throughout our stay. The views were unbelievable. If anything, the pictures advertised on the site do not do it justice it’s is 10x better in person and we weee very pleasantly surprised. 100% would come back again

Fabulous property.

We were a party of 8; 4 adults and 4 children, and found the space in the home just perfect. Loved using the hot tub and the pool table. The views are picture perfect. Great to have en suite for each bedroom, and the utility room (with large fridge freezer and washing machine etc) was so useful too. Location lovely and remote but also 10 mins into Ruthin.

Beautiful property.

We had a lovely chilled weekend. Host was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic house barn conversion has been done to a very high standard.

Plenty of space for 6 adults to chill out, comfortable beds and everything you need is provided. Hard to find property (especially in the dark) as post code took us to centre of village. No signal for sat nav!! Please note remote location so you will need a car to get to the shops / pub etc. Would have been useful to have some suggested local walks printed out and clearer instructions re the WiFi.

Brilliant property, attention to detail is spot on.

Lovely gesture from the owner leaving us wine and fresh eggs. Lots of room and fantastic views. One of the best properties I have stayed at.

We are a family of 6 adults and 3 children and have just returned from a wonderful family holiday at this property and we all didn't want to leave.

The owners were very helpful and made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The eggs, milk, cake, wine etc was a lovely touch as we arrived and the amazing views all around was just breath taking. We will definitely be returning!!

Excellent stay in the spacious larger house.

Really stunning views from the kitchen/lounge. Just it was a bit chilly in my twin bed room sometimes. We couldn't get the thermostat to increase the temperature.

I could not fault anything about our stay here.

The property was beautiful in a perfect location. The host was so lovely and accommodating. Will DEFINITELY be returning and would reccomend to anyone.

We absolutely loved our week at this property.

We were there with three generations of family aged 10 to 80 and it suited everyone. Not only were the pool table and hot tub fantastic, but there was space for everyone whenever we ate or socialised together, and plenty of games for in- and outdoors. The host (Catrin) was fabulous - she was really helpful whenever we had questions and very generously gave the kids Easter eggs and one of the grown-ups who had a birthday during our visit a bottle of Prosecco - she really went above and beyond to make sure our stay was special. This is a great spot for anyone who wants to relax but still be within in an hour of lots of lovely places to visit.

We had the best weekend, Catrin was so lovely.

She made sure we had everything we needed, we even got brought cake, wine and fresh eggs. The house was immaculate and the views were something else. We will defiantly be back. Thankyou again for a lovely time!

This cottage was amazing I’ve stayed at this ladies other cottages before there all absolutely amazing too.

She’s a great host and goes above and beyond. We love the area we’re there situated and look forward to going back. again.

Beautiful property.

The house is enormous yet still incredibly homely. Each room has a comfortable bed and the kitchen has everything you need. The hot tub was also lovely. The owners were so welcoming. They checked that we had everything we needed on the first night and even delivered cakes, fresh eggs and other refreshments from their farm. 10/10 would recommend.

We all have a wonderful stay in the beautiful cottage.

Views we delightful from the Hot Tub A wonderful place to enjoy relax and meeting up with family for my 60th Birthday. Thank you Catherine for the lovely Cakes,Wine and fresh Eggs.

The house was unreal and even that an understatement!

! the views mixed with the house it’s self was stunning! had everything we needed and more. Little shame about quite a few dead wasps coming from the wall and the smell of the wasps nest in the wall wasn’t pleasant BUT still the house was faultless and we’d definitely stay there again! The Pictures of the house REALLY don’t do it justice!

My husband surprised me with a stay here for my 30th birthday and I honestly couldn't of wished for anywhere better.

We were a group of 3 couples with 4 young children. Every detail of the property was perfect, the sheer size of the house, the secure garden, the private hot tub area and the stunning views. The house will take your breath away as you pull onto the drive. Catrin, the host was lovely and even surprised me with a bottle of prosecco and a card on my birthday. We would 100% recommend this house.

We have just returned from a week in this beautiful house, and want to use this review to both thank Catrin, simply the loveliest host we have ever met, and to share a few tips we picked up to consider when booking.

The house itself is perfect for large family groups, we had 2 young children and their parents, grand parents and great grandparents and the layout worked really well. The main living floor has only 2 steps and includes 1 double and 1 twin en-suite bedrooms, ideal for the older family members (be aware there is a tall staircase to the main floor from the entrance, best to use the ramp and walk around to the other door to access if walking awkward). There are then 2 staircases, one to 2 Double en-suite rooms and one to the final double en-suite, so the kids and parents had one staircase and we had the other. The house has great shower rooms in very bedroom and one bathroom on the ground floor level next to the large Games / family room. The house is maintained to a great standard and has all that you could wish for in terms of Media, Netflix in every room, great pool table and lots of space for kids outside and the hot tub with changing room and showers was brilliant I would really recommend following the advice to book a meal from The Sorbus Tree whilst your there, easily top restaurant standards and really good pricing for the quality you get and Catrin and Hannah (TST) coordinated to get it in the fridge whilst we had a day out. We would also recommended Catrin’s nomination of Bryn Tegid as a day out, along with days out locally at both Loggerheads and Bala.

Amazing house and in a lovely area, Catrin the host was lovely and very welcoming.

Arrived to a lovely welcome pack (red and white wine, chocolate cake, Victoria sponge, eggs and some flapjacks) would highly recommend this house x

This is one of the best houses we have stayed in.

Beautiful inside and outside the views are spectacular. Catrin was very welcoming and helpful when we needed her. Also left us a nice surprise of cake wine and fudge. The standard of this house is 5 star Will definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing house, people and environment for any group of people to enjoy, my family had a wonderful time, we was looked after immensely, we must return in the future Take this fabulous opportunity and stay in this luxurious accommodation.

A wonderful large clean house in a beautiful setting with a great host.

Lots of good walks on the doorstep and a whole range of activities within 30-45 mins. We hope to go back soon!

We are a group of friends who make an annual winter weekend away.

As my turn to organise this year's trip, the easy contact with Sykes helped make for smooth planning and booking. The accommodation is exceptional in comfort and facilities. The owner has paid attention to such detail for guests convenience in the property and also left us a thoughtful welcome pack which included home produce. She checked on us and was available but not intrusive. Lovely accommodating lady. Most definately one to return to.

Lovely place to stay, such a spacious house with 4 double rooms and a twin room all with en suites , it was so nice to be able to have all my family under one roof for the weekend, and the hot tub was a hit with everyone, will be booking to go back again for sure!

!

What a fabulous property.

The pictures do not reflect the sheer size of this huge house. was perfect in every way. hosts very welcoming and helpful. The property was equipped with everything we needed. superb bedrooms very stylish and spacious...property in very quiet surroundings but only 40 mins away from chester and llandudno. Would defo reccommend.

Party of 10 friends (5 couples).

Loads of room and a fantastic accommodation with no expense spared. Brilliant location for walks. Hot tub amazing. Can't rate this place highly enough with a warm welcome from Katryn.

The house itself is amazing.

A great blend of rustic coziness and modern amenities. The location is fantastic, with incredible views, and was very well sign-posted. The host was extremely friendly and welcoming. We would definitely revisit, and would highly recommend to anybody else.

Fantastic hosts, stunning views and large, extremely comfortable accommodation.

Couldn't have asked for anymore and didn't want to leave!

Brilliant spacious house Clean throughout & comfortable beds Pool table a big hit Large hot tub Beautiful scenery Definitely come back

What fantastic accommodation for a larger group.

Plenty of room to do your own thing but cozy enough to get together. Spotless, comfortable and welcoming. The extra touches from the owners was much appreciated. The whole family loved relaxing in the hot tub and what a view. Highly recommended.

We were expecting the cottage to be good but when we arrived we were blown away, it is stunning!

Everything you need is there, the owner brought down 30 fresh eggs for us which were lovely. Cant fault a single thing and would highly recommend to everyone.

A beautiful cottage in outstanding countryside with a helpful and welcoming host.

A good venue for a family get together. This cottage was initially rejected because only one bedroom was a twin, a zip linked bed which could offer a double or a twin would give greater flexibility and attract more visitors.

The house was perfect for what we wanted.

We loved the extra touches the owner Cathryn left out for us. The fresh eggs from her farm, locally made fudge, cake, wine and milk. We loved having a hot tub, bbq and plenty of garden furniture. Also games for us and for the kids was a great extra. The bedrooms are all en suite as well as a family bathroom with a bath and a shower and toilet outside by the Hotub. We couldn’t recommend it here enough for a peaceful getaway! The photos don’t even do it justice. 10/10!

An excellent stay and a very friendly accommodating hostess.

We had a wonderful time!

The house is absolutely lovely. Would highly recommend it!

Tyn Y Celyn Isaf is set in beautiful surroundings and is a short drive (around 15 minutes) from the charming town of Ruthin.

The owners here have thought of everything. Every room has an en suite bathroom, there’s underfloor heating throughout the property, and even the hot tub sits under shelter so you can use it in the snow or rain. This was our second time visiting the property as a group of eight, once in summer and once in winter. We had a wonderful time on both occasions. In the summer it acted as our base from which we explored other parts of North Wales, and in the winter we had lots of snow and utilised the property’s wood burning fire and enjoyed some cosy nights in. I cannot recommend Tyn Y Celyn Isaf highly enough. If you’re looking for pure relaxation and luxury in a stunning part of the world, look no further.

This property is amazing!

!! Just stayed for the weekend, family of 12 (10 adults 2 children) and we have had a brilliant time - we never left the house! Facilities are second to none, there is everything you need. The house is finished to an extremely high standard and is flawless and the owners are so generous and lovely. I would highly recommend this property, we are rebooking for the summer! The views are amazing! I would advise to arrive in daylight as it’s quite off the beaten track but once you arrive, it’s definitly worth the search!!!! I can’t say enough about it, we were sad to leave!

The house was incredible with great facilities.

The hot tub was able to fit 10 of us in which was fantastic. Such a great weekend!

A very well appointed property in excellent condition and perfect for a get together of friends.

A little off the 'beaten track' which suited us perfectly. Set in a beautiful rural location with some good walking from the doorstep and within 30 minutes driving. The hot tub and pool table were an added bonus.

Catrin was a Fantastic host and the would highly recommended to anyone to go to cottage

We've just returned from the most fantastic week in this superb accommodation and picturesque location.

If you want a complete chill out this is the place to come. The newly renovated barn has been completed to a fantastic standard, EVERYTHING inside and outside is perfect. We had a lovely welcome from the owners including some goodies :-) We highly recommend Tyn Y Celyn Isaf to anyone, we will certainly be visiting again - soon hopefully!

The accommodation was excellent, Christan & her team were very friendly & helpful and very rapidly responded to a couple of very minor problems.

From the moment you pull up the drive this place is amazing, Having stayed at a few places around wales this was by far the best we have ever been to, Everything was of such a high standard and well thought out from having automatic sensing lights that come on, to having 2 toasters (a must for large groups at breakfast).

I would not hesitate to rebook and would highly recommend to anyone who was looking for a large place to relax in wales in
