Description
Set in a prime position in the seaside town of Criccieth in Gwynedd is this homely, detached, holiday home, Cwm Eilir.
With views over to two castles from the front garden, Criccieth and Harlech, and two sitting rooms, this spacious home is ideal for a gathering of family or friends.
On arrival at the property, roadside parking greets you, before making your way up the stairs to enter the property.
Step into the hallway, where on your left you can find the smaller of two sitting rooms, ideal if you want to break away from the group and take in the views, and further along the second sitting room.
From here, the dining room provides you with a place to plan your itinerary before dinner is served.
The chef of the group can whip up a delicious meal in the kitchen, which hosts an electric oven and hob, before taking advantage of the dishwasher to help with the cleanup.
After a busy day and a home-cooked meal, head upstairs for some rest; a king-size and a double room offer handy en-suite shower rooms, while another king-size and a single are served by a bathroom, so everyone has somewhere to prepare for the day ahead!
Explore your surroundings with a stroll down to the beach, where you can see Castell Criccieth up-close, before stopping for a spot to eat at the popular Dylan’s Restaurant.
The town centre is also within walking distance and is filled with plenty of pubs and eateries, as well as a museum, ice cream parlours and a golf club for any avid golfers in your party.
The unique, Italianate village of Portmeirion is reachable by car and well worth the visit for those fascinated by striking architecture and quaint boutiques.
For a historic day out, the coastal town of Caernarfon, known for its magnificent castle is within reach, while the glorious Snowdonia National Park makes the perfect day out for its wealth of outdoor activities and picture-perfect scenery.
Bring your loved ones for a seaside break at Cwm Eilir.

What guests are saying
The house is in a prime location and the views are amazing from the front of the house.
A lot of the issues have already been previously mentioned. We stayed last year and none of the issues have been rectified, which we have found difficult to understand how these have not been taken on board by the owners and not been rectified. The worse issue is the smell of dampness in the living room, which the smell then goes through the whole house. It’s a shame as we like the location, but due to lack of the upkeep of the house we have found alternative accommodation for next year.
The house has potential, lovely views and good quality carpets and furniture, crockery and most of the cooking equipment is adequate.
There are no trays and very few glasses apart from wine glasses. There was no normal information folder when we arrived, so when the weather and the house became much colder later in the week, we tried but could not switch on the heating/radiators except for once for about 20 minutes and the radiators we felt needed bleeding. The radiator inlet pipe in the first ensuite bedroom is slowly leaking and the shower constantly drips even when turned off. The fittings are limited, such as only one table lamp in the large lounge and no other spare table lamps in the house and use of old large low energy bulbs in those in two en-suite bedrooms and lounge, there are no shutting curtains in the large lounge and the bedding and mattress covers do need replacing. Also the elderly microwave and dishwasher with only one working program. Is the electrical equipment “Pat grsted? As you know I regularly have booked both large houses and smaller. The whole house needs a full inspection/clean, a handyman to check everything works properly, appropriate replacements and decorations. I am trying to be encouraging because it could be very good.property.
It has been said before that this property has some issues which could be easily dealt with by the owners.
But this is our third year at Cwm Eilir and as a family we find this property suits our needs. It is wonderful to wake up in a morning to the wonderful view it affords. Two lounges is a bonus although one can be more of a day room for all. Dogs are welcome and children have a large garden to play in. Estelle who manages the property easily deals with any problems.
