Description

The Little Coach House is one of two fabulous holiday cottages set within the tranquil grounds of Tyddyn Mawr House nestled in the beautiful Welsh countryside near Porthmadog. There is 14 acres of land to explore, including well-maintained gardens, with seating areas tucked around every corner, and a delightful summer house stocked with library books and DVDs.

The bright and airy open planned living space optimises the ground floor of the cottage. The kitchen is well equipped with everything that you could need with a dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven and hob, fridge / freezer, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine.

There is a dining table for up to four people and a comfortable seating area with a TV, DVD player and electric fire.

There is a ground floor loo with hand basin.

The gorgeous ensuite double bedroom has a king size bed, TV with built in DVD player and attached dressing room with built in wardrobes and dressing table. The bathroom has a bath with shower attachment, loo, towel radiator and hand basin.

Outside there is a private and enclosed paved seating area. You can also explore the 14 acres of shared grounds which includes attractive gardens, a summer house, a lake for wild swimming or fishing and farmed fields.

The Little Coach House is a wonderfully romantic cottage, with ample space and a private courtyard garden. The cosy, comfortable furnishings, bold French pieces and a traditional dressing room give this cottage a real touch of luxury. You could easily spend a holiday here without ever needing to leave the grounds, but if a day’s exploration is on the cards you have the historic town of Criccieth with its castle and beaches, the shops and heritage railway of Porthmadog and the Snowdonia National Park all just a short drive away.

If you need a little extra space, Garden Cottage and The Honey Pot are both on the same site and can potentially be booked concurrently.

Please note that there are live stock in the fields so dogs must be kept on leads in specific areas.

The Little Coach House was really lovely.

Beautifully decorated & very comfortable. The gardens around the cottage are so well kept with lots of places to sit & enjoy the Welsh countryside. We would love to return sometime.

This was a beautiful cottage, tastefully decorated and immaculately clean, set in exquisite gardens and grounds.

It was well-equipped in the kitchen, although the saucepans had received some rough treatment from previous guests. Russ and Karen made us very welcome but a 5pm check in is a little later than most cottages. The homemade bara brith was delicious, and well received together with the local cider, thank you. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely; the shower worked well and it was nice to have a bath available too. Future guests should bear in mind that dogs are not allowed upstairs, which can be difficult in a strange house. Also, there was nothing provided in the kitchen except the nespresso coffee pods and washing up liquid, so you need to bring soap or handwash, tea, coffee and milk for your first night. It would have been useful to have a brush and dustpan to keep the floors clean, especially with having a dog. We had a very pleasant stay, probably the cleanest property ever! The little dressing room was sweet, and convenient. Tall guests might have trouble with the low ceilings in places but we were fine and the beams etc add to the character of this pretty cottage. It's very convenient for Porthmadog and easily accessible to the North Wales Expressway. The lake was pretty, although the dry summer had lowered the water level considerably. The rain we experienced each evening will remedy that soon. This said, it would be useful to have somewhere to hang coats downstairs, particularly in rainy weather. All in all a lovely place to stay and highly recommended if you want a romantic getaway. (We're a bit old for that!)
