What guests are saying
Had a lovely stay at The Cedars.
The accommodation was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. Great base for exploring the surrounding areas.
After a long and arduous journey we walked into this little gem of a place!
It was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and a pleasure to be there! We had two lovely weeks at Cedars and wouldn't hesitate to go back again. It had everything we needed and more! My husband met the owner a couple of times and she was very pleasant. We had a change of bedding, towels, tea cloths and bath mat after our first week! Cedars really does deserve a 5 star rating!
There were some positive aspects to the property.
The kitchen was well equipped and the seating area in the living room was comfortable and pleasant. The location is also convenient for visiting local attractions, with plenty of places to explore nearby. However, overall we found the property rather disappointing and feel it is in need of updating. The accommodation looks quite tired in places and some of the layout and facilities could be improved. In the bedroom, there is a large chest of drawers directly behind the door, meaning the door bangs into it when opened. There is also no power point conveniently located near the mirror, which makes using a hairdryer or styling appliances difficult. Although the property is well placed for attractions, we were disappointed with the immediate local area. We found it to be quite run down and lacking in charm, which wasn't what we had expected from the description of the location. The driveway is very tight, particularly if you have a larger car, so parking can be awkward. We also found the outside patio area lacked privacy, which was disappointing. Overall, while the property has some good features and is in a useful location for exploring nearby attractions, we felt it needs some investment, updating and greater attention to detail to bring it up to the standard we would expect from a holiday property.
