Brook Cottage

We had a truly lovely week away in this beautiful, cosy cottage.

It was the perfect place to relax and unwind, with everything we could have wished for to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The cottage was warm, welcoming and full of charm, and the location was simply beautiful. We especially loved having such lovely walks right on our doorstep, with plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy the surrounding countryside. A peaceful, relaxing getaway that we thoroughly enjoyed. We would happily return and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy seaside escape.

A delightfully quiet, tastefully and comfortably furnished cottage with an excellent cooker and shower.

Seeing a particularly bad review the week before we left for Anglesea we were concerned about cleanliness and damp, but found it spotless, except for a little dust found behind the twin bedroom drawers whilst hunting for a lost trinket and whilst biscuits softened overnight no disturbing signs of damp. Would we go again?. Yes.

Brook Cottage is a beautiful property perfectly situated near Beaumaris - just a 7 minute drive away.

In the other direction was a 12 minute drive to Llanddona Beach, which we went to most mornings. We went to Penmon Point on our last day, just 13 minutes drive away. Our guest party consisted of myself, husband, our 12yo son and 4yo Labrador. The dog enjoyed his stay with plenty of garden to sniff and contained once the gates were closed. The bedrooms were perfect to accommodate us with plenty of storage and amenities to cater for our needs. Communication with the owner was quick, responsive and helpful. We found the cottage to be very clean with no issues at all. The only thing was missing was a hot tub but other than that, we can’t wait to stay again!

I write this review with regret.

The cottage is in a great location and you can tell the owner has put a lot of love into the property. Unfortunately the upkeep of the cottage is not great. First impression was great and we unpacked. We moved the coffee table to a more safe space as my daughter is unsteady on her feet. This is when we found branflakes on the floor. We thought nothing of it and just thought it was a simple mistake and they had been forgot!! As our first week continued we found more and more filth! I dropped my toothbrush, it rolled under the bath and the dust and pubic hair stuck to it when I picked it up made me sick! Under every bed was filthy. The wicker wall hangings are full of thick cobweb filled dust. My phone charger cable was hung over the back of the bed. When I pulled it out there was a big ball of dust and cobweb attached to the end of it. This is dust that has built up over time. Then the smell of air freshener wore off in the bedrooms and the smell of damp set in! It also smells like someone has stayed with a cat and it’s pee’d in the main bedroom. The stench is noticeable. We decided the clean and vac the property. Unfortunately the vac was so full we had to empty it but when we did it started spitting out whatever was sat in the tube and made things worse. The property isn’t overly dusty it filthy! The tops of everything are thick with dirt, all the nick nacks are thick with filth, perhaps the cleaners should think of moving things when the clean? The property is well enough equipped but not the best I’ve stayed in and the over door doesn’t shut properly. For the money we paid we know we can get better and we will not be staying here again. We come every year to Anglesey but won’t return to Brook cottage.

We’ve just spent a fantastic week at Brook Cottage during the heat wave.

It was well equipped and had everything we needed, the hammock was a nice touch. The beds were comfortable and the shower was lovely. A great location in a peaceful village. We enjoyed being able to run down to the local beach and sit out in the garden in the evenings. Thank you John and Kim for letting us share your beautiful cottage.

Cannot fault this cottage.

One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in - and we have stayed in loads!!!!! The heatwave helped, obviously, but we just loved the garden. Such a beautiful spot for the family and our dog. The house was really comfortable as well. Incredibly cosy and has everything we needed, including the world’s best shower! Loved the location. Only thing missing was a pub. Otherwise, perfect.

In a quiet village away from the busy road and well placed for touring Anglesey .

The property and location are great.

No complaints at all and will re-book. The only issue I have is that my wife mistakenly left her dressing gown behind the bedroom door and we have no one to actually talk to about this and ask for its return. They send an app to raise an issue with no form to complete hence my only option is this feedback form.

We had a great time right from arrival.

The cottage was well appointed and comfortable with all necessary and relevant amenities. The garden was excellent for my cocker spaniel who found the shaded areas a blessing in the heat wave we arrived too! We loved the location and how peaceful it was and the area at the bottom of the long lane to park up and walk into the woods . The Menai water at the end of the walk once you crossed over the road was the reward for us and Nancy the doggy who had a lovely cooling swim. I would want to return again as I found the stay met all my requirements and would highly recommend this cottage if you don’t mind being a bit more away from the shops and hustle and bustle.

We felt at home the moment we walked through the door.

Beautifully decorated, cosy and comfortable with stunning views in a small, quiet hamlet. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was perfectly equipped and the lounge with its fabulous log burner was a welcome haven after a day of walking the many trails nearby. The owners even provided a gorgeous Christmas tree for our stay! Everything about the place was absolutely wonderful and the babbling brook in the garden was a perfect bonus. We would love to have stayed here forever!

The cottage is lovely and in a nice spot tucked away.

There were just a few things that made us mark it down, we all got 1 towel each (everywhere else we've stayed has given us 2) and having a few women in the group meant issues when we washed our hair. The radiator in the bathroom was off, we found the on switch in the bedroom behind the bed so we could dry towels a bit. Not having control of the heating was annoying, you don't want to be calling someone on your holiday to turn the radiators on. There is a log fire but after coming in from a wet day you don't want to have to start that every time. The double bed mattress is soft so was uncomfortable (but that is a personal thing) and one of the single beds is very creaky. For the price increase would have expected just a little bit more.

We had a lovely stay at Brook Cottage.

The cottage was warm, very comfortable and well equipped. The added bonus of a good sized garden, which was secure for our dog. Garden furniture which we used to sit in the sun for a coffee. Also a car parking space by the cottage. All in all a lovely week. Thank you John & Kim.

Stunning cottage, however it was bitterly cold as the electric heaters only came on in the morning and in the evening for a couple of hours which could not be altered by the guests.

The only other heating was a log burner which was very efficient but not instant heat. The cottage cost over £700.00 and we were forced to spend over £50.00 to keep ourselves warm in the evenings. Not acceptable.

What a beautiful cottage, so comfortable and relaxing.

It was spotlessly clean, the bed is really comfortable and the cottage had everything we needed for a very relaxing break. The village is peaceful and quiet but still easy to get around the island. This won’t be our last visit to Brook Cottage. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

This was a lovely place to stay, we thoroughly enjoyed our week at Brooke cottage.

The property was lovely our only issue was opening and closing the gate, this is a small thing but both of us have back and leg pain currently and lifting the gate even though a small gripe was a nuisance, which could be easily fixed, for you as owners I don’t know if your aware but you have a small leak developing under your shower, and also the bathroom sink drain is slow draining so there is some blockage there also. These did not stop us having a great week but as a retired engineer I notice these little things. Thank you both for a nice stay and holiday this cottage was clearly the best cottage we have stayed in. Many thanks David & Catherine

We had never booked a Cottage through a third party so all we had to go on where the details and pictures on line. From our arrival last Saturday afternoon we were not to be disappointed. The Cottage has a charming setting in nice gardens and it looks pleased with its self and so it should be. The moment we opened the door we felt welcome, we felt comfortable. The cottage and everything within it was spotless and items had obviously been selected with welcome and comfort in mind. We have had a lovey exploring week and returning each afternoon has felt good for us both. You should be very proud of what you have both achieved here. I wonder if all the other Sykes Cottages live up to this standard, we certainly hope so for future breaks. After two years of full on Cancer treatment we both had to get away to somewhere we had never been before. Brook Cottage was such a place, it has enchanted us. Where we to return to the Isle this is where we much come again. Thank you again and to the team that keep the place in such a loving but immaculate condition. Brook Cottage was an absolute gem – a beautifully refurbished, cosy, and well-equipped home that made our week away truly special.

The attention to detail in the renovation is clear, with everything finished to a high standard. It was clean, neatly presented, and comfortable – a real home away from home. The garden was a highlight: a charming cottage-style space with plenty of seating to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We were delighted by the local wildlife – we even added a second bird feeder and were rewarded with visits from great tits, blue tits, and even red squirrels! Having a private driveway was a real bonus, although the gate opening inward was a little tricky at times. Anglesey itself was a delight. We loved wandering around Beaumaris – a picturesque town with lots of character. While we found the castle a bit pricey, so didn't visit this. A real standout was the Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens – a stunning and tranquil spot that’s well worth a visit. Do note that some areas might be challenging for those with mobility issues, but the entrance gardens and café are accessible and lovely in their own right. We also ventured further afield. Rhyl was a bit underwhelming, though that might be due to the early season. In contrast, Llandudno was fantastic – definitely worth the trip. Caernarfon Castle and the surrounding town were another highlight. There’s so much to see and plenty of great spots to eat or grab a drink.

One side of the toaster wouldn't stay down and two out of three of the saucepans had been ruined, it looked like food had been burned on and then taken part of the teflon coating with it.

This means that 'black bits' can get into the food and this is carcinogenic. (We left a note for the cleaner as they may be unaware of the toaster and pans.) We could have done with a couple of small oven proof dishes as we had to use a small mixing bowl. Not everyone wants to use the microwave. Priority should be given to clearing the garden next to the brook as it was almost invisible - and for us that was a definite 'selling point'. Otherwise it was lovely, quiet and plenty of singing birds to listen to.

Amazing location.

So peaceful and the cottage was lovely, had everything you could possibly need for a wonderful stay. Comfy beads, huge bath and so much more.

Well cared for and beautifully presented. We had a very enjoyable stay and the kids loved relaxing in the hammock while waiting for the bbq! Only thing we would suggest is that a dishwasher would have been nice to save on washing up.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful.

Well equipped and extremely comfortable. What a beautiful and peaceful setting . Wonderful base to access areas of the mainland as well as the many beautiful parts of Anglesey. Just a 10 minute walk up the lane from the back of the cottage to access the nature reserve. Once at the top you are met by breathtaking views of Penmon, The Great Orme and Snowdonia. What a treat.

Wow what a week.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Brook Cottage. It was everything we wanted and more. The location was amazing and very handy for adventures around North Wales. The property was spotless on arrival and had everything we needed for a wonderful week stay. I don't think it will be our last visit!!

Absolutely loved our stay here, this is our 10th time using Sykes and this is our favourite by a country mile.

Very comfortable and clean, it has a real holiday feel to it and everything we needed whilst staying. Lovely village location with plenty of walks nearby.

The bungalow was near perfect - the only thing missing was little bins in the bedrooms for tissues etc.

Absolutely loved this compact, yet spacious and comfortable cottage.

Warm and cosy. All aspects of comfort catered for in a very clever design. We had to delay our stay by a day as due to a painful rib injury, the comfortable pillows, beds and furniture were greatly appreciated. Very easy to reach beaches and very close to Beaumaris. On this visit we used the car more however, both within walking distance and very dog friendly. Perfect base for a fabulous holiday. Would recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at Brook Cottage.

It was beautifully presented. The bed was really comfortable and the property had everything we needed. The garden was perfect for our dog who loves exploring. The milk and Welsh cakes on arrival were a lovely touch too, thank you. We were perfectly situated to be able to explore North Wales. The only negative was that there were a lot of cobwebs and spiders everywhere which we went around with the hoover taking down from the walls and ceilings. This didn’t look like it had been done for a while and there were a lot.

Probably the most comfortable cottage we have stayed in.

Modern, tastefully furnished, with every facility to make the stay an uncomplicated one (even a log fire available if needed). With our small dog Belle we were able to visit a number of National Trust properties and of course Bodnant Gardens ! Beaches were also plentiful and within a short car ride. Getting used to the 'scattergun approach' to the 20mph speed limit kept the car driver alert !! Nearby Beaumaris provided a number of eating places and excellent, varied retail therapy. We enjoyed the whole experience.

The property itself was lovely, it was obvious that a lot of design thought had gone into it by the owners, it was warm and cosy, and the parking excellent.

However, the floor edges were dusty & heavily cobwebbed, but more importantly whilst stripping the beds to leave, we noticed that there were two duvet covers on the 5ft bed in the main bedroom, and the second cover underneath the top cover disgustingly had menstrual blood on it (I have photos to prove). Also, there were no toilet cleaning products, and no kitchen surface cleaning spray. We also only had one tea towel. The complimentary pint carton of milk, and Welsh cakes seemed a bit mean too, compared to other holiday companies we have used. What a shame that housekeeping let down what would have been a lovely cottage.

We recently took our two grandsons for a weeks holiday to Brook Cottage Angelsey.

The cottage is situated around 10 mins car ride from Beaumaris Castle. The cottage is all on one level and is beautifully decorated throughout. The master bedroom is large, the bedding was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The same applies to the twin room and both boys slept really well. The bathroom is large with both a bath and separate shower cubicle. I have to say the shower was brilliant. Superb water pressure with both a traditional shower head with an overhead option if you choose. The cooker was easy to use and the fridge freezer provided ample storage for a weeks holiday. The central heating is controlled by the owners via Bluetooth and due to the change in the weather I contacted the owner to request the heating be increased and he was very happy to oblige. The reception on the TV was brilliant and there were a lot of channels to choose from including Netflix Prime etc. There are also a number of board games in the property. All in all we all had a wonderful week in a fabulous cottage. I would definitely recommend this cottage

Great property in lovely location with plentyof parking.

Perfect for our family of four for a week. Well equipped comfortable cottage. The only issues were that the kettle lid was broken making it difficult to use and the washing line was broken so could not be used. Would definitely recommend to others and consider coming again with the above issues fixed.

Property is lovely and well kept.

Perfect location if you prefer a quieter evening! Only small issue was that my checkin was 4pm, I turned up slightly early at 3:40 and the cleaner only turned up at around 3:45 and left the house at around 4:15. Unsure if they had got their schedule wrong? Other than that I loved the cottage and would definitely return.

Lovely setting, we had a nice quiet relaxed break.

This is such a lovely cottage in a fabulous spot.

It has been beautifully renovated and was very homely with comfy chairs and sofa. It was also spotlessly clean! We had to phone the owner to ask for the heating to be turned up after the weather changed and John couldn’t have been more helpful and courteous. Even with two wet and cold days we were cosy and comfortable. The only thing we felt could have improved our stay was to have mattresses that were firmer, as the ones in both rooms felt rather soft and saggy. However that one thing would not stop us from rebooking this cottage in the future. It really is a delightful place.

A lovely cottage,very roomy and peaceful spot,

The cottage is situated in a peaceful rural location with a lovely garden, that has seating in many aspects to catch the sun or shade as you like, the garden is secure if you have a dog which is important.

There are pleasant walks from the cottage and the coast is easily reachable. There is a babbling stream running through the edge of the garden to cool off dogs and children alike. The cottage interior is comfortable and well equipped with a full size smart t.v and good wifi if that is important. The island has a slow lane feel, and is very easy to drive around to the many places of beauty and interest, due to its size no where is unreachable, beaches, RSPB, National trust, walks it has it all.

The smoke detector was rather sensitive which made stir frying a bit noisey but it meant we could eat out more often-so,not so bad! Would highly recommend this holiday cottage

Relaxing place to stay.

Well equipped accommodation. Quiet location.

Initially we chose Brook Cottage for its proximity to Llanddona where we would be spending time with family over Easter.

In the event it turned out that this lovely bijou cottage was rather more than we could have hoped for, beautifully presented with some deft touches to the light and airy decor and meeting all our expectations of comfort for evenings relaxing in ambient temperatures (early in the season so, CH appreciated); with a generous garden* for our dog, and seating areas for us to be out there with her enjoying the sunshine….. Yes, in between April showers we had Spring sunshine! For just a few days the best of times - a place to come back to. Family Robinson *Property Owner might consider reviewing the less secure sections of the boundary.

We had a lovely Easter break at Brook Cottage.

The cottage is just fabulous, very well equipped in a beautiful quiet spot. On arrival, there was fresh milk in the fridge, and some Welsh cakes too, a lovely additional touch and much appreciated. The Cottage is only a 10 min drive from Beaumaris, a lovely little town with plenty of places to eat. Overall a great stay at Brook cottage and we would highly recommend. We would love a return trip!

Superb property.

Good size, we were a party of 2 adults and 1 dog. Well equipped. Comfortable bed. Good location with walks from the door into the surrounding countryside. Small nature reserve nearby with good views across to the mountains across the strait. We enjoyed our stay and would book this cottage again without hesitation.

The cottage was beautiful, only let down slightly by inattention to detail by the housekeeping team in regards to the cleanliness of the kitchen.

In particular cutlery and crockery not washed but put away. Shame because the rest of the cottage was pristine. Cottage in a nice location of Anglesey, lots of good walks and locals friendly. Close to Beaumaris castle.

Brook Cottage was perfect for us a couple with a small dog.

Quiet location great garden with walks straight from the cottage and Red Warf Bay a 10 min drive.The accommodation was spotlessly clean on arrival and the wood burner kept us toasty in the evenings given ours was a November visit. Would happily return.

Brook Cottage is well appointed with everything a dog owner requires in a holiday let, the only thing that it fails on is the lack of an indoor airer for drying clothes during inclement weather.

By the time we got here, sadly, our dog Jasmine had died. Also, regarding cleanliness, this is handled by an external company and therefore you will not find anything similar to other properties you stay in. e.g. A supply of bin bags or a "Welcome Pack" (pint of milk, bread, local delicacy perhaps) . I did find that the sink waste in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned in a while due to a blockage (accumulated long black hair and soap residue) which I cleared. (I'm a Wastewater Engineer so used to mucky things). These few items cost the listing a "Star" and full house in the other listings.

Brook cottage was a beautifully appointed cottage.

Outstanding quality & probably one of the comfiest beds I've slept in in all the cottages we have rented over the years. I could not find fault in anything. An enjoyable experience & no doubt one we'll be repeating in the future.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely setting within easy reach of everywhere that we wanted to visit.

We had a small maintenance issue at the start of the holiday but John, the owner, sorted that out for us immediately and he was lovely to deal with. The cottage is comfy and well equipped with all you could need and we had a wonderful week there. Weather was great most of the time so we were very lucky. A couple of things I would mention- the mattress in the main bedroom is not particularly supportive, I think it may be ready to be changed and again, in the main bedroom, there was a vague smell of damp which may be coming from the side window area as it was showing signs of black mould - not excessive and it didn't spoil the holiday at all, but might need further investigation to stop it getting worse. I'm still happy to give 5 stars as we loved the place and would definitely come back.

Great location; quiet; useful local Morrisons store in Llangoed 5 mins by car; easy access to Beaumaris; 30 mins walk to nearest (shingle) beach. Enclosed garden for dog/children.

Lovely new build which is very welcoming and equipped for all the family's needs.

Quiet location, ideally situated for the attractions of Beaumaris and the surrounding area. This was our second visit to Llangoed having stayed on Anglesey many times. We would not hesitate to revisit Brook cottage again in the future.

The cottage is gorgeous, really clean , comfortable and well equipped . The shower is amazing ! It also has a sweet little garden although it was a bit cold when we stayed to enjoy it unfortunately. The cottage is in an ideal location for exploring anglesey and there are also great walks right from the doorstep . We would highly recommend the cottage and would love to go back sometime .

Beautiful bungalow with lovely furniture and accessories.

We enjoyed our stay and it was very comfortable and the shower is amazing. However I think the garden could be improved, lots of weeds everywhere and lack of comfy outdoor chairs. Other than that we will certainly will be back next year as the location is perfect for walks and nearby town of Beaumaris and Menai. Would definitely recommend this place to our friends and family.

Very well appointed cottage in a very quiet, peaceful area.

Convenient for nipping to Beaumaris and for exploring Angelsey. We hope to stay here again. Mike, Helen and cocker spaniel Martha.

It was very lovely cottage.

It was very clean and styled nicely with country cottage style. It was very spacious. The only thing is heating wasn't working properly but most days we stayed been sunny and we also used the fire place.
