What guests are saying
Having battled to get answers to questions from Sykes and failed to do so, we pressed ahead and went to Ty Mawr.
I hope that any cottages I wish to take in future are not listed by this site as they are disinterested at best! The position of the house is excellent. It is very close to all the points of interest in that part of the world and the proximity to the Festiniogg railway was fun. There were some fundamental flaws with the property. Whilst the sleeping accommodation slept up to 9 people comfortably I was very relieved that we only had 7 in the party. The table in the kitchen only seats 6 and so if you wish to eat together even seven let alone nine causes a problem! The table is too small and the number of chairs insufficient. As mentioned in another review, the amount of fridge freezer space is woefully insufficient. It is not mentioned in the details that the only method of making proper coffee is a ‘flying saucer’ pod machine. No cafetière, no filter, no nothing. There is no tea pot either. I mention this so future visitors can mitigate this problem. We had a fun week and got round the problems but compared to houses that we have previously taken to entertain friends and family it was disappointingly ill equipped.
Beautiful house with great facilities.
Lovely having the steam railway at the back. Hot tub and games room were really good and much enjoyed by all.
Ty Mawr is a lovely property.
It's very clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped (in fact there were items such as hot tub towels, stair gates and an air fryer which were provided but not shown in the house specification). The hot tub was excellent and the enclosed garden and games room were a real treat for the grandchildren. Special thanks to Aleisha for answering the few questions we had so promptly. We would certainly recommend this property and plan to return.
