Absolutely stunning location and property.

I have never stayed in such a beautiful holiday home. We were greeted with the most wonderful home made treats upon arrival and met with such a lovely welcome from Sally, the owner. It has everything you could possibly need and is so peaceful, with stunning views. Highly recommended for a mini break. I cannot wait to return!

A lovely cottage well away from it all.

Very peaceful and relaxing. Sally was very helpful and on hand if you needed anything. Comfortable inside with all the kitchen equipment you need. Homemade cakes on arrival was a lovely and welcome gesture, thank you. Gorgeous views out the back. Loved the wildlife!

Comfortable, clean and well equipped accommodation and friendly hosts nearby. Really enjoyed our stay and the chance to explore this part of Shropshire, which didn’t disappoint.

Also every room smelt nice, comfortable beds, the additional hot tub was excellent nice and warm and large, great thank you.

Stunning cottage …everything you could want down to the hot tub!

The owner was friendly and available . Sally left lovely cup cakes, home made jam, sweet peas…really made one feel at home. The cottage has bi fold doors opening out onto the garden and vine covered outdoor eating place…the view is of fields and birds. So peaceful and highly recommend.

Vistula Cottage is a beautifully renovated cow barn, with great facilities, set in a quiet country spot with mature trees around.

Stunning views. Everything was provided that we could have needed. The welcome tray of home baked cake and jam, with a bottle of wine and fresh flowers was a real treat. Sally, our host was helpful and friendly but not intrusive, just right! There was plenty to do and see in the area as well as peace and quiet to rest. Highly recommended.

Superb property in lovely surroundings and a convenient location for visiting many places of interest.

The property has everything you could want and the beds are so comfortable.

The cottage was very clean, quiet and peaceful and one of the best stocked in terms of toiletries, kitchen equipment, condiments etc that we have previously stayed in.

The wine, home made cakes, jam and flowers were appreciated. The TV channels need retuning and the TV itself is quite dated. In our opinion the settees are quite uncomfortable, especially if you have back problems. We had a problem opening the freezer draws as it was in dire need of defrosting The downstairs bedroom had quite an unpleasant sewerage smell. We did not see the owners during our stay otherwise we would have mentioned the above. We did text Sally on arrival as the cottage was exceedingly hot and we had a problem opening the bi-fold doors. Sally messaged promptly and advised how to open the doors.

This is a delightful property in a beautiful location.

A beautiful cottage and one of the best equipped we’ve ever had.

Very well presented on arrival (delicious home made cakes !) and a helpfully stocked pantry for easy self catering ( oil, S&P, vinegar etc) and some starter toiletries in bathrooms/kitchen cleaning products . Extremely clean and well tended gardens which were private. Loads of information for guests. A more modern and larger internet TV in the lounge would have been welcome and some soft outdoor furniture on the decking just outside the lounge/ kitchen, would have been good. (We acknowledge there was an iron/marble outdoor dining table/chairs in the garden under a pergola but it was c30 yards away down some steps - which if carrying drinks and hot food wasn’t as convenient for our group). Overall we’d highly recommend this cottage and would stay here again.

Sally and Alan met us again with home made cupcakes,their delicious wine, beautiful flowers. Thank you so much. Cottage was sparkling clean,warm and cozy. Never mind what season you are coming to Vitula, all seasons are gorgeous. Hot tub was cherry on the cake with fantastic cherry tree view in blossoms. Absolutely fantastic. Looking forward to more lovely weekends at Vitula. Thank you Sally and Alan.

Beautiful property to stay in.

Very modern, clean and comfortable. Everything you need is there...like home from home. Great views from the lounge. Nice touch from the owners of cupcakes and wine on arrival. Hot Tub was also great to use. Would definitely return

The cottage was very very clean with nice touches including fresh flowers and baked cupcakes.

The host Sally was lovely. We were not made aware in advance that the hottub advertised was not in use but a substitute was provided just not quite the same. The dryer was broken and an engineer came early the morning we were leaving before 8am again Sally apologised and gave us a bottle of home made wine. The views were great and it was quite central to Whitchurch, Ellesmere and Shrewsbury. All in all a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Vitula always winner, not even looking for something else. Cosy, warm, surrounded by beautiful nature, even in January good retreat, to escape big city. Sally and Alan so supportive, met us with lovely cupcakes, bottle wine, beautiful roses. Thank you so much. Highly can recommend this amazing cottage for everyone. What a beautiful, comfortable and relaxing cottage!

We were won over by its warmth and welcome as soon as we stepped inside. The views across the garden and fields are really lovely. It was wonderful to sit on the sofa and watch the birds on the feeder, and squirrels scampering across the garden. Feeling energetic one day, we took the footpath across the fields to the Dickin Arms - great food and atmosphere, we thoroughly recommend it. The owner of Vitula Cottage was very welcoming and friendly, and the homemade cake was a lovely gesture. Thank you for a much needed chilled out stay in privacy and comfort - we shall most definitely be back.

The cottage was clean and comfortable, and the location superb.

We stayed for a weekend to unwind following a very hectic few months, and spent all our time at the cottage. We saw plenty of wildlife - lots of birds, including buzzards in the fields, a family of squirrels and a fox - and wandered around the tree-filled garden in the Autumn sunshine. Thank you to Sally and Alan for the excellent welcome pack, and for thinking of everything one could need for a self catering break.

Fourth time since 01/2024 and definitely not last.

We are looking to book in January again. Vitulla always winner, best cottage I ever been. Sally and Alan very friendly and welcoming. This time they met us again with tasty cupcakes, most delicious home made wine and beautiful flowers. Cottage warm and sparkling clean, everything you ll find in the kitchen, I could easily to cook Christmas dinner without bringing tools from home. Ofcourse most gorgeous hot tub in conservatory, always warm and clean surrounded by beautiful nature. You can enjoy many birds dance from the sitting room. So relaxing to watch their choreography

really nice accommodation, clean, well equipped, very warm and if you are looking for somewhere peaceful and quiet then book this place.

Lots of nice places to visit and not too far away from the accommodation. My one complaint was that being very short I did have trouble getting up on the stools around the table to eat, however we made a joke of it every night and by the end of our holiday I did master it. Ellesmere lake was a lovely spot, Shrewsbury was a good day out especially the market and independant shops, Whitchurch was worth a visit and we were never short of a good pub or coffee shop to have some lunch. The British Ironwork Centre on the way back from Oswestry is a must if you like something quirky and unusual lots to see and buy.

What a beautiful cottage, from arrival to getting in the front door you just repeat wow.

Sally is incredibly welcoming, is on hand via phone for any issues and all are sorted in a very timely manner. The cottage is fully equipped with all you need, we packed things we didn’t need such as tea towels etc. everything to make it home from home is provided. The beds are incredibly comfortable! Watching the wildlife in the garden and watching the farmers, farming the fields at the back was wonderful. Hot tub in the conservatory made the experience all the more enjoyable, we would return in a heart beat. Thank you! Only negative comment is the high windows in living area need some cleaning attention as large spider / cob webs. Absolutely did not impact stay just an observation.

Lovely property, very well equipped and in a very peaceful location.

Good for visiting into the Shropshire hills or parts of Wales with plenty of scenic views within easy reach. Really enjoyed our stay as it was the perfect base to relax.

This was a second stay in the beautiful Vitula cottage and hopefully it won't be our last.

Sally the owner adds many added extras to the property which makes it feel more like a home than a holiday let. We were unlucky with the weather but that didn't matter as the cottage is so warm, clean and comfortable it was a pleasure to spend time in it. The gardens and surrounding views are stunning. We would have no hesitation in recommending Vitula to family and friends.

The best Sykes cottage we have stayed in.

The beds are very comfortable, the showers are excellent and the bathrooms are pleasant to be in Generally the cottage is light airy and warm with good views of the surrounding countryside. The kitchen is well equipped and everything works - which is not always the case Sally our host gave us a lovely welcome, bringing us some lovely sweet peas and a home grown cucumber. A tin of homemade cakes were waiting for us in the cottage A very quiet location for a comfortable and relaxing stay

The cottage is Clean and comfortable and warm and was beautifully decorated and was very luxurious.

We really enjoyed our stay I enjoyed watching the Robins and blue tits and various other birds through the bi fold window which was really lovely when it was warm as we just opened the window and enjoyed the garden and the view. The hot tub was fantastic and the Dressing gown and slippers and towels were really appreciated and the welcome we received with some of Sally's goodies were such a lovely touch. We had a lovely relaxing week and the weather was very good to us we would highly recommend this property. Thank you Sally and Alan.

Amazing place, like home from home.

Everything you need is provided and that makes such a difference as you can instantly relax and enjoy those lovely views. Very welcoming owner, home made cakes and welcome pack all these touches make this cottage stand out, highly recommended.

Everything you need, even to robes for the hot tub, cottage lovely and warm as was the hot tub. And the cakes didn't last long

We were welcomed by Sally who offered to show us around but this was our second visit so there was no need.

Everything was as we expected, clean , fresh and well maintained. We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary there with steak and chips etc and everything was available to cook a great meal. The hot tub was the icing on the cake and we enjoyed the experience. Would thoroughly recommend that you make the effort to stay there for a while.

..absolutely amazing place to recharge your batteries from city life . Me and my friends all liked cosy and warm Vitula cottage .So nicely decorated ,paid attention for details .Hot tub in conservatory kept so warm and clean .During cold winter and not warmest British summer months is real joy .Thank you Sally and Alan for beautiful weekend again. Looking forward to come back again.

Spotlessly clean, well equipped, great views and a fantastic hoste. We go away every New Year and this is the best property we've ever stayed in.

Gorgeous cottage with everything needed for a getaway.

Fully equipped kitchen and a dishwasher. The underfloor heating was lovely and the beds were so comfortable. Sally was brilliant with help and advice before we arrived and recommended a lovely pub. She greeted us on arrival and then left us too it however we knew we could contact her if needed. The views from the lounge were stunning and we even had rabbits in the garden. I would highly recommend to all for a peaceful getaway

The cottage was beautifully decorated, with lovely fittings and furniture and soft furnishings and the kitchen was well equipped.

We loved the hot tub, which was well maintained on a daily basis, and it was a real bonus to have it in a conservatory and the provision of hot tub towels and robes. The view from Vitula was stunning, with lots of birds and wildlife to see. The only negative point would be, that to have enabled us not to accidentally tread in grass or mud onto the hallway, the hot tub would benefit from a better path to it, and it was getting quite muddy on the drive outside the cottage after the rain. However, these are minor points, but we did feel uncomfortable when accidentally bringing grass etc into the hallway as the property was so beautifully clean.. Overall it is a gorgeous cottage; Sally the owner was most welcoming on arrival, and we appreciated the homemade cakes and jam which were left for us. We would definitely return.

We stayed in lovely Vitula last weekend.

It was my second time visiting Vitula. It was an amazing weekend in the beautiful countryside. Alan and Sally are kind and generous, and we feel very safe. They met us with tasty cakes and delicious jam.Vitula is so warm and cozy with an amazing view. We didn't want to go anywhere. The hot tub with a beautiful countryside view was a delight . Four friends stayed for a week at Vitula Cottage & can honestly say its the best accommodation we have ever stayed in.

Spotlessly clean throughout..both bedrooms ensuite with very comfortable beds. A very well equipped kitchen with everything you could think of for an enjoyable stay. Set in a rural location with stunning countryside views we really had a relaxing time here. Sally the owner met us on arrival & was very welcoming. Lovely touches of homemade cakes & jam along with fresh flowers made for a real home from home feel. We all loved our stay & would highly recommend it to anyone Thank you so much to Sally & Alan for having us

Beautiful cottage with fabulous views.

Hot tub in a separate conservatory but easy access and just what was needed after a damp day exploring the area. We arrived to find freshly made cupcakes from Sally which was lovely. Plenty to see and do in the area and would highly recommend both the cottage and going to The Dickin Arms for dinner!

The home-baked cakes and home-made jam were most welcome on our arrival. The fresh flowers were a thoughtful touch and really appreciated. The secluded location and privacy suited us very well but it was good to know that Sally and Alan were available for any queries or problems that we might have had. The cottage proved to be an ideal base for visiting various places of interest in the surrounding area.

Anyone would be privileged to stay at Vitula Cottage Everything is done to such a high standard, and so inviting.

you feel soo relaxed as soon as you are settled in. It is like a Home for a holiday with the peace & quiet, There are Stunning views all around you there is no need for entertainment you can just relax & watch the wildlife. Rabbits, squirrels stoat, fox, etc There are variety of birds, including pheasants Oh and in the evening's the bats entertain you flying back and forth. When you get into bed it is like floating on air, I have never slept so well & the bedding is so clean, fresh & cosy. The kitchen has everything you could want it is so well equipped in case you wanted to cook while you are away. As for the owners Sally and Alan they are such a lovely couple. Sally meets you on your arrival with some home made cakes which would win top prize in the Bake off series. They are nearby if you need them, But they leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday. What else can I say I think I have covered everything The best holiday I have had in years. I would quite happily move in tomorrow Thank you so much Sally & Allan

Vitula cottage is a wonderful place to stay.

Close to lots of places to visit. Great for visiting Shrewsbury. The cottage has everything you need plus additional luxuries like the hot tub. It was very clean and comfortable. The owner is on hand should you need her but does not intrude on your holiday.

The accommodation was top notch.

We were lucky to have superb weather. This enabled us to fully open the bifold doors and sit on the decking. The views, the peace and quiet, guaranteed complete relaxation. We bought bird seed, which encouraged many birds plus a squirrel.

This is delightful cottage deep in the charming Shropshire countryside.

Set in a spacious garden with many established trees, it is a magnet for wildlife. We were lucky enough to spot rabbits, squirrels, bats and buzzards amongst the usual garden and woodland birds. It is a perfect bolthole for 2 people who enjoy additional rooms and space, but is equipped for 4. The spacious hot tub in the conservatory is perfect for any weather with good views across the countryside. An additional touch was the tin of delicious home made buns on arrival. The owners have gone to considerable effort in making this a clean, comfortable and well appointed rental and they deserve repeated bookings.

We had a most pleasant two week holiday, based in this delightful property, in a rural location.

The house was well presented with everything we required and the location was central to all we wished to do. Sally was most helpful, but not intrusive. We would definitely stay again should ae wish to return to this area

Probably the best we have ever been to. The decor, furnishings etc were of the highest quality. The surrounding views were stunning. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Lovely property with amazing views.

Sally the owner welcomed us on arrival, and everything was perfect, we were very lucky that the weather was nice. Lovely place to get away and unwind.

The Cottage was immaculate, great views, and the hot tub was perfect after a days walking aound the local towns and villages.

The kitchen had every utensil, pot and pan you needed to cook a meal. The bird feeder positioned just off the decking saw a variety of birds and squirrels come and go during the day very pleasant to watch whilst eating breakfast. Remember to bring a pair of crocs for the short walk from the cottage to the hot tub. Overall the perfect country retreat and Sally's cup cakes were to die for!

Definitely the best cottage we have stayed in.

Beautifully decorated with everything we needed. The hot tub in the conservatory was super especially as the weather wasn’t good. Great location for sightseeing in Shropshire. Thoughtful host and delicious cakes.

This is a lovely place, well set out & comfortable.

The bedrooms are a good size with space for your clothes, not living out a case. The bathrooms are clean and do the job. The open plan space of the lounge & kitchen is really nice, just a few little things in the kitchen are missing. We should have had a chat with Sally but didn't, because I am sure that she would have made amends, she is a lovely person & will look after you. Her cakes are really nice too. Finally the hot tub is another plus for the venue, we were only a party of four so it was plenty big enough for us. It's set up in a conservatory, which is different, great if it's raining. The surrounding area has two pubs less than 2 miles from the cottage, in opposite directions. But I wouldn't recommend walking to or from these in the dark as the road is very tight with lots of bends. Definitely worth a visit though. Overall an excellent venue which we would definitely return to again.

Everything you could possibly need and more in this very well equipped cottage. We had a very warm welcome from the lovely owner, Sally. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Shrewsbury and Ellesemere very close by with nice walks, shopping and eateries. The only downside for me is that the cottage isn't dog friendly, as I'd love to visit again with my husband and dog!

Me and the hubby came here for 4 nights just to get away and relax and we surely did that, Sally was there upon arrival showed us around and hot to use the hit tub which was lush and relxing.

We didn't see her again she left us to have some privacy and time together.Property was lovley, quiet and the kitchen was lovley nice and big to move around and cook.Nice and warm inside aswell , Will definitely come back in the future when it's warmer weather.Thankyou for a lovley stay

A lovely spacious cottage, beautifully decorated, comfortably furnished and well maintained.

Lovely gardens with views over the Shropshire countryside. We were visited by a variety of wildlife including a Tawny Owl. It was well placed for visiting local attractions and we can definitely recommend the breakfast at Sleap Airfield!

Everytime we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was ideally suited for walking and cycling the surrounding area. The owners, Sally & Alan are very friendly. Wrote hope to go back to cycle again in the very near future.

Had an amazing week at Vitula Cottage, amazing rural location but well situated to explore Shropshire.

The Cottage itself is beautifully furnished and so well equipped you could actually live there permanently. The beds were so comfortable, we slept like logs every night, amazing showers with plentiful hot water. Hot tub in the conservatory was just the best thing after a day out, then sitting in the pergola watching the wildlife in the evening with a wine was so relaxing. This is probably the best self catering house we have stayed in, Sallys home made cake to welcome us was truly yummy. We will definitely return in the future, but if we lived closer it would be more often. Thank you Sally and Alan for a great experience. Paula and Graeme, Aberdeen.

Its a fab chill out place very quite, chilled with a G&T, plus nibbles just sat watching the birds.

The owner was very welcoming and made a lovely cake on our arrival. The kitchen is very well stocked for cooking. We had problems with TV singal.

Superb property.

The best cottage we have ever stayed in! So much space, beautiful surroundings and views with private gardens all around. Very comfortable well equipped and immaculate. Everything we needed. We paid extra for the hot tub out in the conservatory and this was a real treat with furniture to relax in between our dips. Wonderful when the weather was cold and rainy outside!

Vitula Cottage is one of the best properties that we’ve ever stayed in.

A beautifully presented cottage in the countryside with stunning views from the lounge area’s bi-fold doors and outdoor decked area. We made full use everyday of the hot tub in the summerhouse as it can be used whatever the weather, taking our books, drinks and snacks in with us. Also with it being wintertime, we’d taken fleece blankets from home to use outdoors if the weather was dry, so we also took those into the summerhouse with us, although there are plenty of blankets in the cottage to use. It was just like having your own personal spa and it really helped to make our short, but much needed break perfectly relaxing. Sally is such a lovely host, there for you if needed, and the delicious sponge cake was very much appreciated. We shopped for food on the way but there is a decent sized Co-op in Wem for any other provisions you may need. Also there’s a fabulous pub, The Dickin Arms, a few minutes drive away in Loppington if you fancy a meal out. This is a cottage that you should book whatever the season. Vitula is a high spec' cottage both lofty and cosy because of the underfloor heating.

The kitchen was very well stocked with essentials and the beds were comfortable. Couldn't ask for more for a chilled weekend away. Thank you Sally.

Immaculate inside and out. Beautiful views and lots of nature around, including buzzards, owls, squirrels, etc. There is such a lot to do in the area if that is what your looking for. Lovely relaxing stay, quiet location with lovely views across the fields.

Cottage was clean, comfortable and warm. It had everything we needed. The owners were at hand if we had any questions, but respected our privacy the rest of the time. Excellent location for exploring the local area.

It lived up to all our expectations and would honestly recommend it as a real retreat. Just what we needed. The cottage was beautiful inside and out. A real home from home in such fantastic countryside. Sally and Alan were great hosts too and were on hand when required. Just brilliant! Thank you! Try it!!

Vitula, it was spotlessly clean.

The decor was outstanding as was the furnishings. The views over the countryside were to die for. All you would need was provided in the kitchen to cook your meals. This property is so much better in reality than the advertising describes it. Its so well cared for and obviously well loved and the pride and joy of the owners.

We liked Vitula Cottage, it was clean, comfortable & well equipped.

We had good weather so it was nice to spend time in the garden with a lovely view. The cake was also a nice touch. The only downside was being woken up at 8am with builders working alongside the cottage on a house build, but apart from that we enjoyed our stay.

An amazing, much needed break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We booked a 5-night stay and from the moment of booking right up until check in our host, Sally, was there to ensure we could find our way and ready for our stay. Sally was open to us asking questions about our stay so that we were fully informed and gave us an extremely warm welcome when we arrived. We were shown in with a smile and quickly set up to enjoy our stay. Sally was mindful of our privacy during our stay, but always available for a nice chat, and to offer advice and suggestions on local amenities and activities we can do nearby with our son. The cottage was clean and presented very well. We certainly took away some inspiration from our stay for our own home, and we were made to feel right at home. The cottage is well equipped, though we did bring some of our own kitchenware to help with our own meal preps. We also booked the hot tub for two days (bookings are made for consecutive days as it’s filled up and prepared in time for the first day to take you through the number of days booked) and we’re so glad we did. Our first hot tub experience and I almost went and bought my own for home! The conservatory that houses the hot tub is like a spa where you could easily spend the day with refreshments and dipping in and out of the tub. We self catered for our stay and there are some larger towns nearby to access shops; we went to the retail park in Shrewsbury, there is also a Tesco if you need. The cottage is in the same grounds as the main house where our hosts stay: but the cottage is situated away from the main house with no direct line of sight so it it relatively private. The cottage also backs onto a farm so the views out into the private garden and beyond are just scenic; and looks amazing at sunset. On the day of checkout we were seen off by Sally as we set off for home. We were sad to have to leave after such a great stay but most definitely intend to come back for regulars stays here. Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous setting.

Great beds and showers and impeccably decorated with stylish artwork and soft furnishings - really gorgeous! The cottage was so comfortable and we enjoyed cooking our dinner there and dining outside - especially when the Barn owl swooped past, and the bats came out to play! We loved the hot tub which is provided at an extra fee (mentioned in the final section of the listing description, but I feel would be useful to highlight as extra in the initial drop down ‘facilities’ section). Top tip - if you want to have this available to use on arrival make sure this is communicated with Sally at least 24hrs before your stay, as you will need to arrange payment in advance and the tub takes time to fill and heat. Great fun though and worth it! We shopped at a lovely farm shop at Baschurch called Moor Farm. There is also a Spar shop at Baschurch just 4 miles away. Buy your essentials on the way. The cottage is fully equipped for self catering but a welcome basket of teas, coffees, milk etc is not provided (not a complaint just an observation as I’ve stayed at many places booked through another popular booking site where this seems to have become the norm). There was a carton of orange juice in the fridge to enjoy as we arrived during one of the hottest days of the year! We visited Llangollen’s Horseshoe Falls (£1.00 for 2hrs parking) and the chain bridge. Ellesmere Lake, Oswestry and beautiful Shrewsbury. Perfect location for exploring!

quiet and peaceful a great place for a relaxing break.

Would have liked to give this 10/10, but a couple of things let it down, firstly garden furniture wasn’t able to sit on it due to cushions/ chairs very weather worn, might be worth with getting a cushion box for these.

Secondly ground floor bedroom patio doors locked as there was no step on outside, so no ventilation making bedroom to warm to sleep, overall cottage was lovely, hot tube fantastic, cake was gorgeous, plus had great fun watching the squirrels chase around in the garden, would stay here again but please sort out issues so I can give it 10/10

Lovely contemporary styled cottage, well equipped and comfortably furnished, set in extensive grounds in beautiful rural Shropshire.

Sally and Alan have everything covered with a warm welcome and a tasty sponge cake!! However, the real bonus is the peace and quiet with neighbouring properties on the distant horizon. Perfect. We shall be back!!

Amazing property ,beautiful and very well equipped.

Hot tub in large conservatory was an added bonus .The views from the lounge are stunning and the accommodation is perfect for an idyllic retreat and sanctuary after exploring Shropshire .Would highly recommend and would love to return ,but the property seems to be booked up for the foreseeable future! Oh well at least we got to visit here at least once and made some lovely memories .

Absolutely stunning ‘home from home’.

The owners are lovely and have provided everything you need and more for a comfortable, fantastic stay. I was alone with my two young children without the car but we was able to get a food shop delivered and thanks to the lovely cottage having all the mod cons- we didn’t need to leave all week and not once were my girls short of something to do! The kitchen is full of baking equipment which my girls really enjoyed baking Easter cakes, playing the board games, afternoon tea/picnic and hours of fun in the huge garden and of course- the hot tub! Sally has thought of everything from lovely finishing touches to under floor heating. Really relaxing- stunning views and I highly recommend! Thank you Sally and Alan for an absolutely fantastic stay! This is by bar the most accommodating, immaculate, stunning holiday we have had which has throughly recharged all our batteries, just what we needed!

Absolutely stunning, set in beautiful grounds with amazing views and not overlooked. Added bonus was relaxing in the hot tub each evening after days out. Oh, and not to forget the delicious cake, baked by the owners Sally & Alan. I would definitely recommend.

Restrictions on use of hot tub should be mentioned in description before booking, loved the property but also thought blinds would be nice in downstairs window for added privacy

We stayed at Vitula Cottage for 3 nights for our 5 year anniversary holiday.

We received emails before arrival with very simple and straight forward instructions on what to expect and how to prepare. Similar emails were sent towards the end of the stay as well which we found helpful Upon arrival, Sally greeted us at the door and showed us around. The famous Sally cake was already waiting for us on the kitchen counter and added a very nice touch. The property itself is amazing. The first thing we noticed was how warm it was (a must for a winter stay) and how nice it smelled. We absolutely loved the look and feel of the cottage. It was very clean. The kitchen was filled with all sorts of dishes and utensils and some basic ingredients. The views to the garden and open fields are beautiful. We were a little skeptic about a winter holiday but it has its own charm and we got to spend the time indoors relaxing. There are plenty of puzzles, games and books to keep you busy. Wem, Ellesmere and Shrewsbury are only a short drive away. Sally also recommended a few local restaurants and take aways which was very convenient. The whole experience was very private and relaxing. It made our 5 year anniversary extra special. This was our first cottage stay and it has set the bar very high. 100% recommend this cottage for all seasons!

It had all the facilities we needed in a peaceful location with uninterrupted views of the countryside from the lounge. Friendly hosts Sally & Alan were on hand if needed. Really appreciated the home made cake on arrival, a lovely touch. The enclosed hot tub was a hit, a perfect way to relax after a day discovering nearby attractions. Highly recommend.

Vitula cottage has everything you need in abundance, we have never had so many pot , pans and crockery and towels. The accommodation is beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable, the hot tub was lovely and robes are provided too. The owners are lovely and very quick to sort out any problems, such as a tree coming down in the high winds and blocking the drive, we couldn't have asked for anything any better and would recommend vitula cottage to anyone. The nearby village of Wem has shops and cafes and a lovely Italian restaurant that's well worth a visit, also the Dickin Arms in Wem is a proper village pub, very friendly and welcoming, in fact the many pubs there are all lovely, we recommend the food in the White Lion , best meat.pie ever. Thankyou Sally for the beautifully light home made cake. Vitula cottage is on our list of places to go back to for another holiday stay.

I would definitely go back. We had lots of fun, peaceful and beautiful area! The cottage is extremely clean and comfortable! The hot tub was amazing, the space was so huge! The owner was super friendly and helpful. We got to meet her beautiful horses too. She baked us a lovely cake which also tasted yummy! We loved everything about the place and Shrewsbury!

My husband, two children (aged 6&8) and I spent a week at Vitula Cottage and had a wonderful time.

The house felt so homely and everything we could have needed was right at out fingertips. The house was beautiful, in a beautiful spot. We had a great time in the local area; Hawstone Park Follies and Shrewsbury Prison Museum. We also went to Alton Towers and Chester Zoo, so plenty to do if you are prepared to travel a bit.

Amazing property!

Luxurious, comfortable and has everything provided you need for a short or long stay. Hosts are brilliant, Sally greeted us and showed us around and then we were left alone to enjoy the property and surroundings during our stay. The homemade cake was a bonus, very delicious! Hot tub was phenomenal. The property is very private, in a peaceful location, and a great base to explore the surrounding area. We recommend you check out Hawkstone Park Follies and Colemere lake. Sorry we were in a rush to leave that we forgot to sign the visitors book but we give this property a 10/10, would definitely come again and have already recommended to friends. Take extra coat hangers for the small chest wardrobes.

And a few coat hangers on the door backs would have been useful. But otherwise a fantastic place to stay.

Vitula Cottage is probably the finest cottage for 3 people we've ever stayed in.

It's spacious, very well equipped, comfortable, beautifully designed and decorated and in a great location. Even better it has a wonderful hot tub, and fantastic patio windows which open onto a beautiful decking area and superb garden. With the patio windows open it feels as if the garden in part of the house - simply gorgeous. Sally, the owner, was there to meet us which was very pleasant and helpful (this doesn't usually happen these days - a key safe is more normal). The owners live nearby, but the properties are completely separate. It's good to know that help is there if needed. We'd certainly book Vitula Cottage again if we're in the area.

It was detached and in lovely peaceful surroundings overlooking fields. Whilst the owners were close by, it felt very private. Sally's lovely homemade cake was a nice welcome gesture.

Everything about the cottage was spot on, it was so relaxing and peaceful, we had a homemade cake left in the property to welcome us, Sally met us on arrival and explained things to us, and if we had any problems she was just next door, not that we had any though, We enjoyed it that much, as soon as we arrived home, we booked again for next year,

We have stayed in many self catering properties over the years but this is, without doubt, the best yet.

Stunning property. It’s location is excellent and the decor is fabulous. Sally, the owner was there to greet us and gave us a quick tour before letting us settle in. She’d left THE most fantastic cake as a welcome gift. There was everything we could possibly want. Very comfortable seating on the large leather couch, bi-fold doors which opened onto decking leading down to the conservatory with its hot tub. There was an open air eating area and a simply huge garden with mature trees. The bed - comfiest ever! Loved watching all the wildlife and listening to the birds. Thank you Sally and Alan, for allowing us to share your beautiful home. We so appreciated it. We’ll be back.

It was absolutely stunning, everything you ever need is there. The sofa was so comfy, the kitchen was just a dream kitchen. The beds were comfy the bathrooms were so clean. The hot tub was just a cherry on top. The view from the lounge was just beautiful, we saw rabbits, squirrels and birds all playing in the garden. So quiet and peaceful. Honestly if you have doubts about booking... don't! You will not regret it. Oh the home made cake was absolutely delicious. Sally and Alan are perfect hosts, there are right there if you need them but also leave you alone to enjoy your holiday away. Definitely will be booking again soon

The cottage was stunning , beautiful location, the host was very friendly ,could not fault anything.

The place was gorgeous, the owners were very friendly and helpful, and even left us a lovely cake!

Everything was comfy and well thought through and we didn't want to leave.

Meet every expectations the owner left you to your own so had privacy. But if you needed any help you could speak to Sally. Friendly cat which stayed outside but would welcome you in the evening on your return from a day out. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage was absolutely stunning!

Scrupulously clean and had everything in that you could reasonably ask for. My only comment would be is that the conservatory where the hot tub is situated needs duck boards or something similar. The mats were very slippery once they were wet. Otherwise it was perfect.

A holiday for 2 adults and a teenager, 18, is difficult to organize but Vitula was amazing for us all.

Bedrooms were spacious and en suite. Bifolding doors looked out onto stunning scenery and then the hot tub too. In difficult times with Covid 19 we felt very relaxed and could be ourselves.

Beautiful little getaway in a lovely area.

We arrived to a home baked cake and received a warm welcome from the owner who handed over the key and ensured we knew how to use a few things. There was a fully equipped modern kitchen and 2 bedrooms with an en suite each plus another bathroom. The cottage was in a very quiet area and we had a very relaxed time, special thanks to the jacuzzi. 11/10 stay and will definitely be recommending this place in the future.

The facilities could only be improved with a tumble dryer (sad to hear the one that used to be in the property was not treated well). If returning to Shropshire I would definitely book Vitula Cottage again!

The barn has been converted to a high standard and decorated beautifully throughout.

The outside space is great and secure for our 4 year old to run around in. Sally and Alan were great hosts and the home cooked cake was a lovely gesture. We will be returning for another stay and recommending it to others. New pegs and a hairdryer would be great!

This cottage is a little gem hidden in a very quiet beautiful part of the northern Shropshire area.

In easy striking distance to many lovely places to visit. We were blessed with beautiful wall to wall sunshine during our stay. The cottage is very modern & well equiped with beautiful panoramic views. Finally the hosts were wonderful, well done to them for making our holiday truely memorable.
