  • "We loved Chapel Cottage!"

So cosy and comfortable and in a beautiful setting. Peaceful and pretty countryside, a perfect location for exploring other places. The beds were so comfy and the log burner made our stay even more cosy. The tea, coffee, biscuits and milk were a really lovely touch. We would absolutely stay again!

Thank you for the lovely feedback Jemma. We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay in our quirky “chocolate box” cottage. We’d love to welcome you all back in the future and hope to see you again! Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage to stay at, so peaceful."

Cosy feel with the log burning stove. Would definitely come back.

Thank you for the lovely feedback. There’s something about a wood burning stove to give cosy, festive feels isn’t there. So pleased you enjoyed your stay. We do hope we can welcome you back this year. I’m sure you’d find the cottage just as charming in the spring/summer. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cosy cottage for two."

We feel the description of sleeps 4 to be misleading though. There is one downstairs room making up kitchen/dining/living room - absolutely lovely old range with multi-fuel burner. But seriously no room for more than 2/3 as furniture has to be moved for fold-up dining table. Also immersion heater would not support 4 people taking showers. Location fantastic for Cleveland Way, Saltburn Guisborough.

Thank you for taking the time to review Chapel Cottage. The cottage is very much a cosy “chocolate box” cottage which is over 300 years old. The layout of the property is as it stood years ago, which naturally makes it smaller downstairs. There was no separate kitchen/dining back then as all of the cooking would have been done on the multi-fuel stove. The fold away dining table just helps to maximise the space downstairs. The property description hopefully explains the open plan living area and dining set up before arrival. If you were looking for a larger property Chapel Cottage is situated nextdoor to The Chapel (Sykes ref ID: 1026640) which is considerably bigger and sleeps up to six people. Hopefully we can welcome you back to stay with us at The Chapel if this would be more suited to your taste. Once again thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "This is a very sweet, pretty property inside and out - with VERY comfy beds, very well equipped and spotlessly cleaned."

The cooker is excellent! Initially, with 4 adults, downstairs felt a bit of a squeeze, but actually it was fine, and a lovely room. The complimentary milk/tea/coffee and biscuits were a lovely welcome, and the owner was very helpful. Thank you

  • "We had a lovely stay at Chapel cottage."

It had everything we needed and was in the perfect location for dog walks and the beach. We liked how there were multiple dog walks from the village. We did find the living area/ kitchen a bit cramped but it was fine for the 3 nights we were there. Thanks for a lovely stay!

  • "A charming cottage in a quiet, rural hamlet."

The property was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed - bar possibly drying (inside or outside) facilities. The beds and sitting room were super comfortable and all set within the delightful character of a listed cottage. Sitting in the (intermittent!) sun on the front garden bench was a pleasure. Thank you to the owners for their super provision.

In a super quiet location with only the moo of a cow and ab occasional horse and rider or walking going by ,it was perfect. Lovely walks right on your doorstep. Two miles from Guisborough for any shopping requirements and 2 miles from Saltburn-By-The-Sea for the beach or woodland walks . Perfect for a relaxing break

Super location. The lounge/kitchen was very cosy, even in the snowy weather, with the multi-fuel burner and it was lovely to watch the birds in the garden and the wildlife in the field opposite. The owner was very helpful and attended to all our needs.

  • "We had a lovely stay at the cottage with everything needed to make it a happy one."

Neil, the owner, was always discreetly at hand to deal with any minor issues and even cleared the leaves from the footpath halfway through the stay. The cottage is compact which made it cosy but the upstairs was bigger and comfortable and warm. Was keen to use the multi-fuel burner each evening but the heating was rather efficient which made it a bit obsolete! Walks for our two pups were great and varied but the freedom to run in an unoccupied field's was their favorite with detours into the woods. All in all a great stay and highly recommended.

  • "Lovely , pet friendly cottage sympathetically restored, situated in very pretty and peaceful village, with numerous pleasant walks / cycling routes locally, Small front garden, but with there not being any access to rear of property from within the cottage, access to bins and storage shed situated at rear of cottage is via the garden of adjacent property."

Ample roadside parking space. Beds very comfortable. Smart and spacious bathroom with bath and separate electric shower over which worked superb. Bath would benefit from a grab rail and a non slip bath mat for safety purposes. Lounge/kitchen area comfortable for the two of us with one settee and one arm chair. Unfortunately we did find the space somewhat limited when erecting the fold away dining table for meal times. Generally, we found the whole experience relaxing and most enjoyable.

It was old and cosy but has been renovated to a high standard while retaining much of its original features, and was tastefully furnished. It was very clean and tidy and the beds were very comfortable. We appreciated the thoughtful touches including biscuits for us and the dogs, tea bags, milk in the fridge. The kitchen was well equipped and it was warm and cosy. Lovely walks on the doorstep and easy access to Saltburn, Staithes and Runswick Bay. The owner was very helpful. Thank you!

  • "We had a lovely week at Chapel Cottage."

Everything was really well presented. The cottage was ideally suited for access to the coast where we spent much of our time walking with the dogs. The cottage would benefit from a second sitting chair in the lounge for maximum comfort when four adults are sharing but no comments otherwise. Would definitely recommend to others and return ourselves.
