Faran House

We come to Staithes at least 2/3 times a year, we have stayed in multiple cottages and this 1 was just perfect for us.

We will definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely week.

Great location for staying in Staithes and surrounding area.

The accommodation is really nice and very well equipped with everything needed for a fantastic holiday. Our kids loved the book nook.

Lovely holiday cottage close to Staithes.

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Parking space is a big bonus. Owner lives close by if any issues arise. Well equipped for dogs with secure patio area, dog bowls and biscuits provided. Thank you for the wine and biscuits.

Property lovely and very clean. Perfect for a getaway in lovely staithes or Whitby.

Very clean and cosy house.

Comfortable furnishings. Bed very comfortable. Nice to have some dishwasher tablets, washing tablets, washing up liquid, dishcloth and sponge already to use. We appreciated the welcome pack of tea, coffee, wine, milk, biscuits and flowers. Could have done with an extra tea towel in kitchen and all the knives need replacing for new ones. All in all a very pleasant stay in a well cared for house. Having a dedicated parking space at the owners house is a great idea. We met the owners on a couple of occasions and they were very friendly.

A beautiful cottage, home from home, everything you need, will definitely be recommending to family and friends.

Owners couldn’t do enough for you. Lots of lovely places to visit that’s not too far away, will definitely be going back.

A spotlessly clean and cosy place.

Within handy walking distance of the village and a great fish and chip shop two doors away. The car parking space is a huge bonus. Was my third visit and would go back.

We enjoyed staying at Faran House.

It's in a good location, parking around the corner is a bonus. The house was very clean, probably the cleanest we've stayed in. The log burner great and the Halloween/Autumn themed touches were nice. The sofas were comfortable but the beds less so. The double bedroom on the front was too firm for our liking and the edges seemed to slope down making you feel like you might roll off. We found the kitchen facilities a little lacking. Would benefit from a cheese grater, measuring jug, chopping boards (there was one), some decent knives (they were all terrible), and some larger glasses. We bought six large glasses during our stay to get by. The welcome pack was appreciated after a long drive. With a few minor adjustments I think Faran House could be excellent, some trivial things like the welcome book saying the WiFi password is on the back of the router. It would be far easier for guests for the password to just be typed right there. The latch of the front gate spins around and whilst it still works could be fixed a few pounds. The book nook was good and there were lots of books and games available. However, it would benefit from some comfortable chairs. It was a bit chilly in the book nook but comfortably warm in all other rooms.

Love Faran house, felt at home, could definitely live there.

Everything we needed was provided, including a welcome pack of milk, coffee, teabags and a bottle of wine. Added bonus of a private garden for our fur babies. The house is spotless, homely and comfortable. A perfect base to explore other areas and we love Staithes. Would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again.

The house is very clean comfortable and well maintained, with everything you need for a stay. The welcome pack was very gratefully received. Parking provision was great. A lot of cottages don't have any.

Faran house is the ideal location to allow you to explore Staithes & North Yorkshire.

The house is cosy & well stocked . Secure parking at the owners home round the corner . Secure back yard for our dog. We loved our week there.

Secure parking is a real bonus. This was our second stay here and we have already booked our third. A real home from home.

A lovely holiday house with everything you need.

Very clean and well maintained. Some outside space as well. We loved the book nook with so many games to keep the little one occupied. I don’t know if there was an option of a stair gate but that would be useful if so. Really appreciated the parking space around the corner at the owner’s house. House is ideally located at the top of staithes village, so a 10 min walk down the hill to the harbour and beach, and only a 2 min walk to the bus stop with easy access to Whitby and saltburn if you don’t fancy driving.

Owner very helpful. 10 min walk to harbour/small beach area (steep hill), lots of places to get drinks, snacks, meals. We went to Cod and Lobster, Royal George and Captain Cook. Fish and chip shop next door but one is excellent. Everyone very friendly. Info in house about several local walks, we did Cowbar and Runswick bay

We had a fantastic week in this lovely home.

Its in a perfect spot for enjoying the area and convenient for shops,bus stops and pubs/restaurants.We will definitely book Faran house again when it’s available.

Faran House was perfect, the property was spotlessly clean, well equipped, the beds were extremely comfortable.

Loved the touch from the host to leave beverages, wine, flowers and biscuits to settle in. The garden was perfect for sitting out. Great base for Whitby and the National Park. Recommended Runswick Bay for walking the dog on the beach. Will definitely be returning.

Home from home lovely house ,the wood burner really warmed the house up, loved the bath too.

Great location , bus stops to whitby and saltburn just a few minutes away, we hardly used our car.would definitely recommend it to friends , great house for a family too, Great for walkers too .

This cottage is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, in a great location. The easy and free parking is a real bonus. So glad we have booked a 2nd stay!

We booked last minute and was very pleased with what we arrived to.

A very clean house that had everything we needed for a great break. Up the hill from the main area of Staithes, but ideal as away from the busy tourist area. All areas of the property were well looked after and the little extra touches like a welcome bottle of wine and bathroom spa treats went down very well among with the lush ginger biscuits. Will be back as really enjoyed our stay along with our black lab Betsy.

This was my second time at Faran House and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time.

Such a warm, comfortable place that has been beautifully decorated. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is great. The bottle of wine and flowers on arrival were so welcome. Thank you!

We loved this cosy house.

Everything was so clean and smelt lovely as you walked in. There was plenty of information about parking etc and a welcome pack included red wine & delicious biscuits. There were even blankets on the sofa to cuddle up with if we felt chilly. The Halloween decorations went down a tear with our girls and it took only 5 mins to walk to the beach. We frequently book mini breaks at the coast and this was up there with our favourites. There would only be one other property that would beat this one and that one was nearly double the price. Great value for money. We left a couple of items behind and the lady owner very kindly offered to post. Thank you. We would highly recommend.

Beautiful house.

Very cosy and everything we needed was avaiable. The parking place was a real bonus. And Staithes is a very nice village.

Lovely house, very clean and tidy.

We found the mattress a bit soft so if one moved we both did. A wok would be a good addition, as a stir fry for 4 didn't work in the frying pan, so had to switch to saucepan. The rocking chair is not very comfortable, but as we weren't 5 it wasn't a problem

A lovely property, very clean and smelt wonderful.

Decoration tasteful and no ornaments cluttering the place up. Comfortable beds and sofas. Washing machine and dishwasher in the kitchen, which was a bonus. Property is close to a well stocked shop and the local bus stops. Communication with the owner was pleasant but not intrusive. We felt well looked after.

Beautiful accommodation, and an ideal place for visiting the many resorts along the coast.

Loved Sandsend! The relaxed feeling of the stay made up for one seriously bad weather day, knowing that we had such lovely accommodation to return to. Only marked down on comfort as we're used to a super king size bed, and the duvet could have been a little wider.

We had a very good stay at Faran House.

Apart from the house being comfortable and well equipped with everything we could think of, including beds which were so perfect for us we didn’t want to get up in the mornings, it was ideally positioned for the car parking space round the corner at the owner’s house, the bus stop , the excellent fish and chip shop and the local co-op. It is an easy drive to the coastal villages and towns and the North York Moors. A bus trip to Whitby took 28 minutes and no parking to worry about. Thank you to the owner for the wine, biscuits and milk- very thoughtful. We had to leave a day early sadly but hope to return in the future.

Perfect accommodation!

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable with everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. Great location for exploring the area. The free parking space was great. Have already booked another visit!

Great property, absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated, five minutes to the edge of the pretty village of Staithes.

The wine and biscuits were a lovely touch. We parked the car around the corner at the owners house (great idea!) and didn't use it all week, the bus stop with it's coastal service is on the doorstep and we used it to visit Whitby, Sandsend and Saltburn. Would definitely use Faran House when we next visit Staithes.

A spacious property ideally placed for exploring North Yorkshire with parking.

Spotlessly clean and excellent facilities, comfy beds piping hot water, loved the bath and shower. Even provided beach towels. Owner very helpful and friendly and lovely couple next door. We were blessed with good weather so enjoyed the enclosed garden and the beaches. The book nook would have been a bonus in bad weather. The treats were appreciated by us and the dog. We stayed an extra night which was easy to sort as having such a good time.

The property was spotless and the equipment provided was very good We loved the little extras.

Wine, biscuits dog treats eat. The location is handy for travelling about the coast. The only downside is the hill going into Staithes if you are disabled or short of breath it wouldn’t be for you. There is a pub close by for meals etc and a Co op 2-3 minutes away

Well equipped clean house with lots of space for us. The location is great we enjoyed exploring Staithes and surrounding areas. House is right at the top of Staithes only a minute from the bus stop and road to Hinderwell /Whitby/saltburn . Fab location fab house we will return

What an absolutely fantastic home and location!

This home was beautifully decorated and kept uptodate. The house was spotless with modern furnishings and decor. The kitchen was fully equipped (there was even a dishwasher!) Abd the hosts left us some nice treats, thank you. It was very soacious and the children especially loved the garden space and book nook! Thank you for the games and wonderful books, this kept our kids occupied whilst we were in the house. Staithes is an absolute gem of a fishing village and this home was perfectly situated, allowing us to make casual walks down into the harbour/beach/rockpools, I highly recommend it. There is also a coop aroumd the corner. We visited beautiful beaches and villages nearby such as Saltburn, Runswick bay, Goathland and then a trip to Dalby Forest on the way home as it was alog the way. We appreciated the parking permit and free parking around the corner- there was a little difficulty on arrival as there was no space available despite having the permit so we had to walk back and forth a lot frol a nearby street with luggage until someone drove away. Overall I highly recommend staying here and in larticular visiting Staithes. Look forward to visiting again.

Beautiful house, very comfy, stunning location.

Lovely treats left for our arrival. Need to mention chip shop a few doors down which was a welcome sight after 8 hour drive.

At very short notice Molly got us out of a double booking issue with our own cottage in Hinderwell.

Communication was excellent and she went out of her way to help us settle our visitors quickly in what could have been a very stressful situation for them and us.

We had a comfortable few days stay at Faran House.

What a lovely freshly decorated/renovated property, it was a real pleasure to stay here. I was worried about the no dogs upstairs policy initially, as our dog is used to roaming the whole house at home, but i was pleased to see a ‘dog stopper’ on the stairs upon arrival to make life easier… even if the dog wasn't a fan! There was an enclosed back garden which is great for children and dogs and the neighbours are really pleasant. Great location for Staithes with only a 10-15 minute walk to the beautiful harbour. A highly recommend fish shop on the door step, a Co-op around the corner for essentials and free off road parking at the owners property also around the corner, this was super handy and very much appreciated! This is a great base for discovering the North Yorks coast, so many beaches only a short drive away in either direction! Highly recommend :)

Nicely situated property (chip shop two doors down).

The information pack was a little bit lacking eg information about parking permits, recycling, and WiFi info.,also found it strange cooking utensils were in the dining room not the kitchen,these were just minor niggles (suggestions). We would certainly recommend this property and hope to go there again.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Nice to have an enclosed back garden for the dogs. On road parking outside the house. Quiet area, short walk to shop, pub, cafe and harbour. Area is beautiful too. Weather was fantastic. Neighbours friendly. All in all a great experience.
