The cottage is exactly as listed.

A short 10 minute (hill) walk to town. Lovely little garden to spend time relaxing. Toiletries and laundry soap are not provided. The Old School Coffee Shop just over the bridge in Grosmont was amazing food.

The cottage was very clean, well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay.

We all loved the wood burning fire which we used every night and the garden was lovely to sit at the picnic table and watch the birds.

everything was superb , the welcome kit the log burner efficient heating , the location was superb the wildlife in the back garden was great good eating places the wheatsheaf in egton has a great sunday lunch but better book in advance ,the only negative is that the stairs are steep so any one with walking disabilities would find it difficult to negotiate , ALL IN ALL A GREAT PLACE TO STAY , we would definitely return

Great little cottage in a lovely quiet location.

Off road parking and a security shed. Outside lighting which is great in the winter months. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need. Washing machine and dishwasher it's like being home from home. (They supply enough dishwasher tabs for your stay) Central heating warms the cottage up very quickly although we preferred the log burner (enough wood was supplied for one night, but aldi / lidl isn't far where you can buy them) bedrooms are well presented giving you enough space to put your clothes away with comfortable beds Our only regret was we had to leave.

The cottage was fully equipped with all necessary mod cons. The owners obviously care about cleanliness and presentation. All necessary information and instructions were coherently presented. Parking space, which was a necessity, was clearly defined. We had a thoroughly relaxing enjoyable stay.

Grosmont is a pretty village, with steam trains as well as National Rail. We had a last minute booking, but would definitely rebook when back in the area

A lovely cottage which was well equipped and clean.

The garden was a very good place to sit and relax. There is also a private parking place, which is also important. The information packs in the cottage were excellent. Grosmont is the perfect location for finding lovely walks because it is centrally placed within a walking area, having lots of National Routes nearby. The steam railway is nearby and the fact that there is also a limited national rail line going through the village as well, makes it an ideal place to stay.

A very clean and well equipped cottage; a lovely place to stay.

Lots to do in the area, including visiting Whitby itself. The off-road parking was very much appreciated. The garden and decking is up a steep path without handrails and through another cottage's garden so is not ideal for small children and anyone with mobility difficulties.. The walk down to Grosmont station, although fairly short, was very steep and coming back quite a challenge.

A well equipped and comfy cottage , perfectly situated for exploring the N.

York moors and Whitby plus other interesting places . Our third visit ! We also like the exclusive parking spot and useful storage area for bicycles and golf clubs .

Great location.

Very clean and everything you could want. Lovely garden that we sat in to eat scones and cream after. The beds very comfortable and incredibly peaceful place. No issue with parking as you have your own allotted spot. Had to call owners as we had slight plumbing issue and they were very friendly and helpful and thankfully we sorted it quickly. House has lovely feel about it.

This property was a credit to the owners.

They had catered for all our needs. The cottage was clean, comfortable and cosy. Perfect location for discovering the North Yorkshire Moors and coast. Beautiful garden that was a bonus during our stay. The weather was fantastic for late February/ early March.

Clean and comfortable with great walks from the door. Great to have your own parking as well. We would hope to return soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found it a lovely base to return to after our walks and especially after climbing up the hill! It is ideally located for exploring the area. There was plenty of information in the cottage which was useful however some information on where to buy logs locally would have been helpful. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Superb cottage in gorgeous countryside.

Everyone in our party agreed this was the best cottage we’ve stayed in for comfort and facilities. The owners/hosts seemed to have thought of everything. We picked the Maybeck walk from the comprehensive collection of local walks provided and had a fantastic autumn walk through the woods. Would definitely book again.

My wife and I enjoyed 2 weeks at The Old Sweet Shop.

Situated in Grosmont, it is the perfect location to explore the Yorkshire Moors, Whitby, Pickering, Scarborough plus lots of quaint villages and seaside towns. There are also some superb walks such as the Cinder Track. The cottage was cleaned to a high standard. The kitchen is very well equipped and the furniture in all rooms is good quality. Although local traffic drives past the cottage, it’s a quiet location and silent at night. We felt very relaxed and ‘at home!’ Would definitely recommend staying at The Old Sweet Shop!

A charming cottage, full of character and in a peaceful setting.

We stayed here as an extended family of 5 (4 adults and a teenager), using it as a base for walking the Cleveland Way and cycling in nearby Dalby Forest, and the cottage had ample space and comfort for us all. Can highly recommend the Witching Post Inn in Egton and Eskdale Fisheries in Sleights for evening meals, however the cottage has everything if you also want to cook and eat in (we didn't!). Already planning dates when we can come back.

Well equipped and lovely quiet area. Useful having a private parking area and the outside storage was a bonus for storing the bikes. The garden was good to, to just sit and have a brew. Everything we needed for a short break.

Set in an interesting village with easy access to the surrounding area. A most enjoyable stay.
