This truly delightful, stone-built, terraced cottage, The Snug, is situated in a quiet corner of the famous village of Haworth, only a short drive from the market town of Skipton.

Boasting original ceiling beams, exposed stonework and a feature fireplace, The Snug has been renovated to a high standard and provides an ideal retreat for a couple or small family to get away from it all and enjoy this historic corner of the Yorkshire Dales.

Located in a fabulous position, with the famous high street and many attractions residing just paces away from the property, The Snug provides guests with a superbly-appointed open-plan living space where you and your loved ones can catch up on the day’s events and play your itinerary for the days ahead.

A beautiful staircase leads to the first floor where the double bedroom awaits, with its very own handy en-suite facilities, ideal for winding down or getting ready for the day in style; head to the second floor to find the single bedroom, which is contained on a mezzanine floor overlooking the main bedroom, an interesting and quirky feature of this Haworth cottage.

When you’re ready to explore, head into the centre of Haworth to find a host of excellent restaurants, cafes and traditional pubs where you can treat your loved ones to some hearty grub or a cold tipple after a day of adventures.

Steeped in literary history and formerly home to the Bronte sisters, Haworth has much to offer, including a variety of walks, allowing visitors to follow in the footsteps of Catherine and Heathcliff by wandering the fantastic, rugged moorland.

The delightful market town of Skipton is nearby, voted as the Best Place to Live in Britain in 2014, with its cobbled streets and delightful castle, while further afield is the Victorian spa town of Harrogate, boasting an array of fabulous shopping opportunities, the Royal Pump Room Museum and of course, the famous Betty’s Café Tea Rooms, where you can indulge in a sweet treat or two!

We had a great week, ideally situated for main street, Haworth, and neighbouring towns.

Issue with the door lock was sorted promptly, could have done with another hand towel, but overall, we had a fab week thank you Pete & Sue

It was very small.

No instructions on how to work the cooker. There was about 3-4 feet between the settee and the hearth and behind the settee, just enough space to open the fridge door, dishwasher and cooker. The pictures on the website are deceptive in that, they are taken from an angle that makes the property appear bigger than it actually is.

I’m so sorry our little cottage disappointed you. It’s always our hope that every guest’s stay will be wonderfully memorable. However I wish to assure you, unequivocably, that the photos depicting the cottage are 100% accurate. Not one single photo was changed or doctored or altered in any way. What you see in those photos is exactly what the cottage is. The cottage photos are taken by the property consultant at Sykes and not the owner. There is approximately 3 feet between the face of the kitchen and the back of the sofa. While not expansive, I believe this space would be considered adequate for most. The ‘Snug’ was built well over 200 years ago. And like many cottages in the village here, it’s size is reflective of the time. We strive to make sure every amenity is thought of, that it’s kept clean and cozy and charming. To be honest, we hadn’t thought of putting instructions into the booklet for the cooker, simply because It has 5 dials—. 4 burners and 1 oven and seemed straightforward. But please rest assured, we take your comments seriously, and will be adding an instruction sheet for the cooker, to the booklet. Once again, I’m sorry for your experience. But I do sincerely hope that the rest of your stay was lovely, and that you’ll come visit Haworth again.

The property had clearly not been hoovered.

There was hair (human and dog) all over the bedroom and stairs carpet. The microwave had a blanket in top, again covered in dog hair. I do not have a dog and have very short hair so to find long hair and dog hair was not nice. Admittedly, I only booked the property in my day of arrival which didn't give much notice, however, I would always expect a property to be clean. Although the listing said there was a starter for the fire, there was only 1 log which I thought a little lacking. The fridge door rack is broken so things fell out and the freezer is an ice box which has frosted over so there is no room for food. Over all I was very disappointed.

I was dismayed to hear of your dissatisfaction with your recent stay. I fully understand your feelings with regard to the dog hair. That's unacceptable and was frankly a surprise to me. My housekeepers are generally extremely thorough. We do have pets stay at the property on a regular basis. Generally it's not a problem to keep the cottage thoroughly cleaned. My sincere apologies. We've discussed the issue with our cleaning staff to make sure that it never happens again. With regard to the icebox. the cleaners were puzzled by the comment. It seemed perfectly OK to them when they checked. The door rack in the refrigerator section has been repaired. I believe it was a recent damage. With regard to the fire supplies, With all due respect, we leave kindling and firestarter cubes along with matches. Although there may occasionally be logs left over, from the previous guest, we generally do not stock them. Once again, my apologies for any discomfort you experienced. We are sincere in our efforts to keep our beautiful little cottage clean and warm and inviting for guests. And we will always strive to do better. In the future, perhaps contacting our staff during your stay might be a good option. That way we can rectify the issues on the spot! Best regards, Lawrence
