    "Stunning location."

Stayed with my elderly mum, 2 children & 2 dogs. Very comfortable to spend some down time to watch the birds and listen to the sea washing onto the beach and look out over the ocean. It was very warm whilst we were there but the set up of the house picks up on any sea breeze to keep everywhere very pleasant. The walk to the beach is pleasant although it is a very very steep hill with no car access. The beach got very busy until late afternoon early evening but soon emptied when the tide turned. The beach is still accessible at high tide. We had a lovely BBQ, then used the coals to utilise the massive fire pit for a very pleasant evening toasting marshmallows. The showers were superb with loads of hot water. Comfortable beds although being allergic to feathers I would have preferred to know before hand then I could take my own duvet, it was soon sorted as no duvet was needed on this trip. We had a few little dislikes but nothing that would stop us returning. When I booked, the listing was headed with hot tub, we found it empty and a ‘keep off’ sign on it! The listing also needs to explain it is not accessible to all, the steep drive, very steep/deep steps to different levels of the outside space and uneven floors inside caused a few problems for my mum with mobility issues. There are stickers saying FOR OWNERS USE ONLY around the house which we found a bit annoying. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. Our dislikes were more personal niggles and nothing that would stop us returning in the future.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay at my home. Just a couple to things I’d like to point out for future guests. The duvets are NOT feather, so no problem with allergies here. Sykes accidentally listed my home eith use of a hot tub but soon removed it and informed all guests who had booked. I’d love to let guests use it but it’s soo costly to drain and reheat after every guest, I decided against it. Plus staff to check the chemicals daily for health and safety reasons. Just not cost effective. I put keep off to stop children climbing on it , not to be offensive. Owners use only is for the overhead projector. Previous guests have used this and damaged the screen. So I don’t allow use of it now sorry. I might even just remove it. The only other item is my dryer. You’re welcome to use the washing machine though! The steep steps are roped off , but the lower garden can be accessed by walking around the outside of the decking, should you wish to go down there. I do hope that didnt spoil the enjoyment of the garden or view for your Mum. I will get Sykes to mention the one shallow step between the kitchen and sitting room though , and that the floors are flag stone , with rugs so a little uneven. I’m pleased these issues wont stop you returning with your Mum. My parents had mobility issues too , so I totally understand. They loved to come and watch the ships go by and listen to the birds. It was their very special happy place. Property Owner

"Sea Haven is a beautiful property, in an excellent location."

The view is amazing. We had a fantastic stay and caught up with friends staying in Filey and friends who live in Bridlington. Our children also discovered bodyboarding at Cayton Bay, Filey and of course Hunmanby Gap. The property had everything we needed and we had a bbq on the first day and enjoyed the view. Rex, our black Labrador, had the best holiday, with walks on the beach and time with his pack. Overall, we had one of our best weeks away in the UK, the weather was great and the property was stunning.

Thank you for your lovely review. I’m so pleased you came and made happy memories with your family . After all that’s what life is all about! My dog loves the long expanse of beach. Even if it’s busy in the car park at the top, it’s not when you get on that beach. An ice cream on the way down, just is the icing on the cake for me! Hope you return soon . Property Owner

"What a great property for our 3day weekend break with grandchildren and our cocker spaniel."

Filey beach is only a few minutes away. The house was spotless and very comfortable with multiple seating and dining areas inside and out, with tremendous views to the sea. The enclosed rear garden was ideal for our dog although it was clear she preferred the beach. We hadn’t been to Filey before so booking the property was a bit of a gamble but it paid off as the house was ideally placed for exploring the area. Definitely highly recommended.
