  • "Beautiful well kept comfortable apartment ideally situated for exploring the area."

A nice pub just around the corner to sit and chill out with a nice cold drink after a hard days holidaying.

Pub and restaurant on site a bonus. Good WiFi and TV reception. No negatives.

Very much enjoyed our stay. Clean, comfortable and well positioned. No faults at all

  • "It was just as described."

Modern and clean. There was everything we needed. The cushions on the sofa were a bit hard, could do with being a bit softer. When the weather was very windy the doors moved when they were shut, so made a noise and the living room door catch didn’t come out, so the door wouldn’t stay shut. Apart from that it is a lovely apartment and we enjoyed our stay.

  • "Lovely well appointed apartment ."

Everything was beautifully cleaned and the furnishings were very comfortable. There are two smart televisions in the property and it has wifi and access to netflix and catch up tv. The area is beautiful and the beach was a short walk away. Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough are just a short drive away. There was a minor hiccup with the heating which was dealt with quickly by the owners. We would definitely recommend the apartment and hope to return in the future.

Unfortunately there must have been an oversite by my cleaner during changeover as clean towels (including hand towels) are always supplied. Sadly the guest didn't contact my cleaner who's number is in the property for guests to contact, should there be any issues. Property Owner

  • "Deep clean?"

Not so sure had to hoover over upon arrival, I requested use of the sofa bed ,bedding not left so we used a 4.5 duvet (no cover ) that was in the cupboard. Went to make up the sofa bed it clearly hadn't been used or cleaned in a while, I was a little embarrassed that I was expecting my friend to sleep on it. Apartment very good otherwise. A beautiful holiday complex and cafe was great on site. Parking can be tricky too.

Was a little apprehensive going away for the first time since Covid-19 started. The apartment exceeded our expectations. It was clean and welcoming. Will definitely return.

Liked the extra touch of a pint of milk in the fridge and tea & coffee sachets. Great stay, thank you

  • "Upon arrival it was noted the cottage was clean and tidy."

It looked freshly decorated as well. The facilities in the cottage was pleasantly abundant. The location was ideal to go exploring and we made the most of this. A couple of negatives though, no recycling (but there did not seem to be any on the bay at all). The bedroom needs better curtains as it was too light at night (partly due to the light on the road outside). I also had need to contact the owner to report an issue but after texting and calling i received no reply. I would though happily rebook this cottage.

I was a little concerned that Mr Sawyer had failed to get hold of me as I always either answer my calls and text messages or return them as soon as I possibly can. Having spoken with him, he realised that unfortunately he had dialled my number incorrectly. The issue in question resolved itself which is why Mr Sawyer didn't need to try me again Property Owner

  • "The Cottage was excellent very clean comfortable and modern."

Would highly recommend. However the Bay itself was not for us due to lack of amenities and would not stay again. We are at both the coffee shop and pub. Preferred the coffee shop lovely friendly atmosphere with great food and welcoming staff. I feel this should be open in the evenings to do take away food. Food at the pub was very nice but it lacked atmosphere the drinks were expensive too. Overall we enjoyed our stay the cottage and the lovely beach made our stay.

  • "Good apartment with good facilities."

The Bay complex only provided glass recycling and general waste bins . This should be improved to offer the full range of recycling opportunities- paper , plastic etc. Excellent access to beach. Felt safe to be away from our home during current pandemic.

.. for anyone concerned about booking at the present time with covid, please be assured everything is sanitised and placed in sealed bags including the remote controls for the tv, hairdryer and there is even hand sanitiser inside the property as well... The complex is great as well with a pub onsite and a walk (albeit quite a long one) directly to the beach... We will return again and thank you for a lovely short break....

About the location

Scarborough 7.5 miles; Bridlington 11 miles.

Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. A real gem on the Yorkshire coast. A fishing town on the North East Coast, Filey has enjoyed a reputation of being a resort since Victorian times, set beside the magnificent Filey Bay, a long stretch of beautiful sand, with Filey Brigg and its shallow rockpools to the north. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. gannets, kittiwakes, puffins, guillimots and razorbills all nest there. Gannets are regularly seen diving for fish in Filey Bay. The Brigg area is an ideal place to watch for common and rarer waders, seabirds and migrating warblers, finches and thrushes. As well as seabirds, seals and other marine life, such as porpoises dolphins and Minke Whales can be seen in the sea around the Brigg. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels. There is a small coble landing, a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated, with donkey rides available on the beach, children’s play areas, crazy golf and candy floss. Also in Filey there is the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where common and rare waders and wildfowl can be seen as well as autumn gatherings of swallows, sand martins and house martins. Also there is Parish Wood (just off Sycamore Avenue) an unexpected gem that offers a wealth of wildlife. Willow warbler, chiffchaff, blackcap and tree sparrows breed there and a wide variety of other species are regularly seen such as great spotted woodpeckers and sparrow hawks. Parish Wood also provides shelter and food for a wide range of migrant bird species such as goldcrests, pied and spotted flycatchers, warblers, finches, thrushes and woodcocks. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where for family fun you can visit the Alpamare Waterpark, a waterpark unlike anything the UK has ever seen before, as well as plenty to explore and discover in this lovely area.
