Description
Llamedos is a neat, mid-terrace cottage resting in the lovely village of Hunmanby, North Yorkshire.
With off-road parking and accepting two pets, this home is ideal for families or friends looking to explore this scenic part of Yorkshire.
Step inside to find a living/dining room, home to a TV and a fire you'll want to cosy up in front of after a day of walking.
From here, make your way to the kitchen where you can rustle up tasty meals to enjoy as a family.
As eyes grow tired, head upstairs and catch your rest in one of two double bedrooms, and when you wake, freshen up in the bathroom with a long soak in the bath or a quick rinse in the shower.
In the warmer months, make the most of the rear, enclosed garden where you can enjoy your morning cup of tea in the sun while your four-legged friends stretch their legs.
If you don't fancy cooking, head out to The Horseshoe Inn or The White Swan for some traditional pub grub before setting off for a walk with your pooch.
Hall Park is a short distance from the property and offers a space to wander in the fresh air.
Next stop, make your way to the popular seaside town of Filey, known for the beautiful Filey Brigg Cliffs & Viewpoint, where you can see uninterrupted views of the sea.
Flamborough and the Bempton Cliffs, famous for spotting Sea puffins.
Filey is also home to a beach, perfect for sunny days with an ice cream or some traditional fish and chips, as well as Filey Golf Club for any avid golfers amongst your group.
Further afield you can find the dramatic landscapes of the North York Moors National Park; here, there's an abundance of walking and cycling options within the countryside, moorland and valleys.
Alternatively, you're within easy reach of the famous Cleveland Way for a more challenging route to explore.

The property was small but had everything that you needed in a holiday home.
Situationally, it was perfect. A two minute walk to all the facilities of Hunmanby High Street and a few minutes in the car had you at Filey beach. A great stay!

! A lovely cosy cottage in a great location!! Sea air+ super comfy bed= fantastic nights sleep! Excellent base to walk directly out from or short drives to lovely predominately dog friendly beaches! Bonus seeing lots of dolphins and seals❤️
Had a lovely stay beds where comfortable and had good night sleep .
Lovely inclosed garden for our 2 dogs . Only thing I’d say is could do with hand rails in bath room to get in and out of shower and near toilet because it’s very low and could do with another hand rail up stairs I’ve got mobility issues and found it very hard , plus the windows where difficult to open maybe put new locks/handles on , had a couple of problems with heating system but did get sorted within minutes of contacting Owner apart from that had a good few days . Had to leave 2 days earlier because our dogs where took poorly

This is reflected in the listing and photos, where features like support rails are not shown. We haven’t had any issues with the windows before, and most guests have found them easy to use. We had a fantastic short break at Llamedos, the property really exceeded our expectations, despite being budget friendly it was exceptionally well maintained, spotlessly clean and really comfortable.
Our little dog loved the secure garden and we really appreciated the patio furniture and well kept lawn and borders. It is owner managed and they clearly take great pride in the property. We have never visited Hunmanby before and were really impressed, the village centre is a short walk and is very pretty, with several really good independent shops and pubs and a good sized co-op. We loved Hunmanby Gap, the beach is fantastic and stretches all the way to Filey.
There are good things about this property - i appreciated the comfortable mattresses, blackout curtains, sunny rear grassed garden with mature plants, private parking near the rear door, good location to explore the local area from.
I stayed there 2 weeks with 2 young children and we had a good time. The property itself self is an ex council house in a built up area with similar properties nearby, it doesn’t feel private as it’s overlooked, and isn’t quiet - you can hear the neighbours moving through the walls particularly during the evening and the seagulls are noisy outside and on the roof, there is traffic noise and activity from the residential neighbours in the mornings. The property is dated internally and in my opinion needs modernisation and some overhaul. It would benefit to feel more like a ‘holiday home’ rather than a ‘furnished let’. The bathroom and kitchen are dated and the artex and ‘decorations’ - artwork, plastic plants, bunny vac cover etc - while probably to the owners taste - weren’t ’Neutral’ enough to be able to support the space to feel like ‘ours’ so we moved them. It felt like the owners house that we were borrowing for a period, rather than our own private space for the stay to enjoy as we would. There was just 1 ‘spare’ plug socket between both bedrooms to plug iPads/phones/kids toni-boxes/kids alarm clocks/night lights etc. I needed to buy a socket extender and unplug all the bedside lighting to free up sockets (the bedside lights were on extension leads sharing 1 socket in each bedroom room) but it wasn’t a problem as we used nightlights, and we overcame the hitch with the socket extender. The kitchen utensils and cooking facilities were adequate including the fridge which deceptively held more than it appeared to, but the items in the drawers could do with update - think 1980’s cutlery, tiny cheese grater; nothing wrong objectively but personally I’m used to more modern and luxurious items. The owners are ‘hands on’ in managing the property, including meeting and greeting guests, taking the bins out, cleaning and dealing with maintenance issues, gardening etc. They live very locally. Perhaps because of the meet and greet, or because I knew they lived locally, or because of the ‘styling’ in the property, I felt their presence in the property which didn’t help me relax there and enjoy it as my own. Pleasant as I found the owners - which I did -, and helpful with an issue I had - which they resolved timely -, this isn’t how I usually experience ‘holiday homes’; holiday homes are usually faceless and quietly/tastefully decorated (to not be sparse and to ‘make my own’) and enjoy without presence from others … which is how I like it. For some people the owners management style would suit well.
Well !! What can I say to that???? I'm going to keep mine short. If you'd have looked properly on Sykes web site you would have seen every room from every angle including the art work! You would have seen exactly what you were getting. By the way Llamedos has never been a council house and some people think it has been refurbished. Thank goodness we are all different. A good job we were around because like it or not you needed us. Sorry we did't come up to your standards.

We felt the owners were intrusive on our holiday time from demanding we let them know when we arrive, to then calling several times on my phone, to demanding to cut grass whilst we were staying there (we had 1 day left of holiday at this point) told us no dogs upstairs, it was described as dog friendly (not) Windows didn't open apart from back bedroom and toilet Fridge freezer is counter top style so be prepared to sit on the floor to retrieve items . They then demanded we call them when we were leaving. We have had many holiday lettings with Skyes and no problems yet this one was the worst. We would not recommend staying at this place.
Thank you for your reference, it gives us a chance to answer your objections correctly for others to read. Firstly we rang to ask, as we always do, if it was ok to meet and greet you. You agreed. ( Everyone has liked that ) We didn't demand anything. We usually cut the grass when our guests are out, weather permitting. It was forecast to rain for the next few days. We couldn't for the dog poo on the lawn. We have never had that problem before. No one has ever objected to that. It is a dog friendly house but it does state that they are not allowed upstairs or on the furniture. It also says only small dogs. Yours was not. All the windows do open if done correctly with the key. The fridge freezer is not a counter top style, it is designed to go under the counter, like most people have in a small self catering cottage. We asked you politely if you could text us when you leave so we could come and clean. You did. Sorry to hear you will not be revisiting, however we are now fully booked.

Everything you need provided. Great location for visiting the east coast . Bus stop nearby with regular bus service to coastal towns. Train station 20 minutes walk away. We can highly recommend it .

! Perfect escape to the fantastic east coast for glorious beach walks with our dogs! Super cosy dog friendly cottage, fully equipped, however Hunmanby offers fab bakery, fish & chips, pubs serving food etc should you need!! Will be back again soon to our happy retreat ❤️

We used this property as a base. But upon arrival it felt like a home from home and very cosy. I would highly recommend and we would be happy to stay again. The home would benefit from a larger tv if more sharing, but gave us what we needed.

Llamedos is a home from home, a perfect base for exploring the Yorkshire coastline with good access to roads for all the best places including Whitby and Scarborough.
The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need and all good quality too. The fridge freezer is small but more than adequate for the supplies we needed. The hosts, John and Leslie, were very welcoming and had the cottage looking perfect for our arrival. The cottage has a lovely cosy lounge and two good sized bedrooms as well as a nice sized family bathroom. The recommendations for local pubs, along with some discount vouchers, were appreciated. We loved the fact that after a day exploring we could come back to Llamedos and walk to all the local amenities, including a well stocked local shop and various pubs and take aways.

The owners are very friendly and certainly go that extra mile to make your stay very comfortable.
The house is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Also they've provided a table and chairs outside for a spot of al fresco dining. Their's three pubs serving food just a short walk away and a well stocked co-op. I would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation.

Perfect little house for a base. We explored the area everyday and the 6 year old was in heaven! Local amenities spot on, chippy, Chinese and Co-op. Only cooked once in the house but had everything we needed ( maybe an extra set of cutlery though?). Our 1 larger dog , (not 2 small,) was happy outside in the garden and made friends with the neighbours!! Only told on arrival dogs not allowed upstairs which wasn’t a problem and I think he’d have slept outside if we had let him!! Maybe mention this on booking as some people have to have their dogs in the bedroom? John checked in on us and on hand for advice if we needed it. We adore Yorkshire and we will definitely be back.
The house was clean, comfortable and had plenty of household items in the bathroom and kitchen.
It was in a perfect location to explore the surrounding areas as a couple with a child. John and Leslie were on hand if we needed anything and checked up on us throughout our stay. We recommended this house to our family and friends.

The cottage was spotless and well presented, and ideally located within walking distance to the shop and pubs/eateries. It was centrally located for Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend llamedos to family and friends as the stay was relaxing and enjoyable.

This is our second stay in Hunmanby.
John and Lesley are lovely hosts and they take the trouble to come and greet their guests to ensure that they know about the heating, appliances, how to contact them if needed etc. The house is spotless and the beds are really comfortable. Oh, and the towels are lovely and fluffy. All in all, a great place to stay. Ann and Andrew

A comfortable place to stay in a good location for coastal towns Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey.
Easy reach for facilities and local pubs. Cottage has two lovely bedrooms with comfortable beds with lovely linens including bath towels but could do with a few hooks or racks to hang them. Kitchen crockery a little sparse .

We have had families of four staying and it was more than adequate for them. A very pleasant stay.
John and Leslie greeted my wife and I on arrival to show us around Llamedos and should we have any problems at all, we were given their number to be able to contact them. Needless to say we had no problems whatsoever. We didn't want for anything during our stay as everything you would require was readily available. My only concern was the Wi-Fi initially, no problem, it was up to speed (as in fast), able to connect to my favourite channels on the smart tv already available and no problems connecting my laptop. Conclusion, we really enjoyed our stay. Llamedos is a true credit to John and Leslie. We will be back.

We visited as a couple for a mid week break.
What an amazing place to stay!! Close to all the places around the coast. Wildlife and amusements. Extremely clean, my other half has an allergy to dog hair and didn't sneeze once! Beds are really comfortable. If you enjoy a hot shower or bath...wow! and the towels are AMAZING. John and Leslie were the cherry on top! They gave us local knowledge on where to park/see/do and recommended the best places to eat on the door step! Pubs literally a stagger away..in 4 nights we couldn't do it all. Defiantly visiting again if they will have us.
