"Very comfortable and clean with tea coffee and milk and ice in the freezer."
On a slight negative the stairs are a little steep but manageable and a bit pricey for a 1 night stay .
Thank you for your review, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.

"Not recommended."
Very dirty. Back yard full of cigarette ends and clutter. Shower precarious with very extreme and variable water temperature. Broken doors everywhere. General sense of neglect and disrepair. Very inaccessible with narrow dangerous stair case. TV complex and very slow and fiddly if you want to switch programmes or channel hop. No booklet with general information and instructions about the property. Also, it ostensibly is for 5 people, but I don't think it would really be big enough for that many. There were 2 of us and that was enough for the size of the living room and kitchen.
On the positive side, very quiet street and good position close to the sea, town and park, so it's fine if you're not staying in much. We didn't drive once during the stay and parking is very convenient and easy. Owner/caretaker was available by phone and did offer to come over to assist us with the TV.
Thank you for your review but I would like to respond to some of your points.
The fact that you state that the property was 'very dirty' is quite upsetting as the cleanliness has always been given full marks. As I always ask my cleaner for updates regarding what requires mending or replacing, I have been assured that no doors are broken. The house does have a narrow staircase but I wouldn't regard it as dangerous as there are bannisters for you to hold on to while walking up or down.
I do agree that I need to provide some general information and I will be sorting that out for the future. Regarding the tv, it's a LG smart TV and was purchased only a couple of months ago but I wouldn't regard it as complex. As you stated, I was willing to come to the property and help you with the tv and the WiFi but you declined my offer, so I presumed that everything was okay.
Regarding the space, the house has five beds, a double in one bedroom and a double and a single in the larger bedroom. There's a two and a three seater leather sofa in the lounge and a dinner table with four chairs. In my opinion there's still plenty of room for five people to move around the property.
Although you didn't like the property, I'm glad you enjoyed Scarborough and hope that you enjoy your future travels.

"The listing is exactly as described, great location and we were also given a permit for parking which was super helpful."
There's a few place to eat within a couple minutes walking distance which was much needed on our first night after travelling and exploring all day. Having this place as our home base while we explored the Yorkshire Moors really set us up for a good trip so i'd happily recommend this place to others.
Thank you for your lovely review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.

"Lovely property over 3 floors."
A short walk from the town centre and beach.
Parking passes provided and there was always space on the road nearby.
Really comfortable and cozy place to stay, the host even left a bottle of milk in the fridge for a much needed cup of tea on arrival.
Thank you so much for your review. I'm glad you had a lovely time.

"We love this house, this is my family's second stay here and we would definitely stay again."
The house is clean and comfortable and is equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The location is great a short walk to peasholme park and the north bay seafront, slightly longer walk to the south bay but well worth the walk through Scarborough high street where you will find a mixture of independent retailers and high street favourites. There is so much to do in Scarborough it's impossible to be bored. Thanks for another lovely stay.
Thank you for a glowing review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay with us again. Take care and keep well.

"Perfect central base for our holiday close to Peasholm Park and in easy distance to the main shopping area and both north and south beaches (not exactly a stone's throw but walkable)."
Basic accommodation but everything we needed. Very clean and tidy with lovely welcoming, bright decor.
Referring to previous reviews: the house was fresh and clean, the sofas were very comfortable and the beds perfectly fine. There were no noisy neighbours during our holiday. It is in a one-way terrace street with the odd small business so not perhaps 'idyllic' but if you're out of the house enjoying yourself that shouldn't be a problem during the day and we had no problems at other times, even the gulls didn't seem as loud as some places we have stayed in Scarborough!
We will be happy to book again next year.
Thank you so much for your review, we really appreciate it. We're glad you had a lovely time and look forward to you visiting us again.

"This property was very clean and well maintained."
The location is ideal as its within walking distance of both North Bay and South Bay.
Parking permits were supplied for each day of our stay, we were able to park directly outside of the property everyday with no issues.
The yard is small but is perfectly fine to sit outside in the summer months or to allow the dogs out each morning. The heating is easy to use and gets very warm within half an hour.
The owner had excellent communication when needed.
I would say that the property is nicer than it looks on the photos, the living room and main bedroom are bigger than what they look.
Thank you for your feedback. It was a pleasure talking to you and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in Scarborough.

"Its was an ok place we came home early, the sofas were very uncomfortable and not in great condition, beds were also uncomfortable, next door were so noisy we couldn't hear ourselves think,it was just OK,I wouldn't stay there again."
.
Thank you for your review but I'm unsure about what the 'not in great condition' remark was for regarding the sofas. They are leather with no rips or marks.
I will have a look at purchasing some toppers, maybe that will help with the 'uncomfortable' remark on the beds, eventhough, they were purchased only six months ago.
Regarding the neighbours, I'm sorry they were on the noisy side but I'm not sure how I can help with that.

"Although t very clean and nice colour , the house really does need a refurb."
On entering , it smelt “ very old person” and damp. ( had to purchase fresheners to cover smell)
Everything was very clean, so must have been years of old wallpaper and closets/ wardrobes upstairs and peeling paper in porch leaving a lingering smell.
The bedding looked worn and we couldn’t sleep in the beds so purchased throws from tk maxx to sleep on.
The back yard needed jet washing and painting ( couldn’t possibly sit out there)
The road was extremely noisy with people at night shouting and not at all idyllic as stated, and parking room horrendous ( car at side of us had mirror knocked of by another vehicle going down road and it being very narrow)
The pros were very clean, close to amenities, good for pets..
Thank you for your review. I would, however, like to reply to some of your complaints. You are the first to comment on an 'old person' smell but the peeling wallpaper has now been sorted as we have just been told about it.
The bedding and beds are less than 6 months old, therefore, unsure about the 'worn' remark but I will ask my cleaner to let me know if replacements are required.
Regarding the back yard, the walls were just repainted at the beginning of August 2024 with ornaments and flowers added to the walls and it is perfectly comfortable to sit outside.
Regarding the roads outside, unfortunately, I'm unable to control them. The house is on a one-way street with parking situated on both sides.

This is a lovely house, very bright and clean and within easy walking distance of all the sights - the beaches, a fabulous park with boating lake, the castle, shops, museums etc Also a lovely sunny and private little courtyard at the back which perhaps deserves a picture in the advertising too :-)
Thank you so much for your review. I'm so happy you had a nice time and enjoyed what Scarborough has to give.
