  • "Heathcliffe Lodge exceeded all our expectations."

It was spacious, very clean and comfortable. It was very well equipped and we found it short of nothing. The hottub was an added bonus. Cliff Pearson and Maxwell were excellent hosts. His local knowledge is great, we would not have found some of the places he recommended and we would have missed out without it. Maxwell is a star who visited most days and we really looked forward to seeing him. Having a visit from a six month old llama was great, very unexpected. We will not hesitate to recommend Heathcliffe Lodge to anyone looking for a quality relaxing getaway in a lovely part of the country. Loved it!!

The property was lovely and really done to a very high standard - you can tell that the owner has really put a lot into this. It really was a home from home, even down to the kitchen utensils, lovely underfloor heating and utility essentials. Literally everything we could have wanted was right there. Up to date television in the front room with all apps required Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. All in all we had a lovely time away and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to friends and family. Hot tub was a massive added bonus - we felt very relaxed at the end of our stay! We every night in here overlooking the clear fields. Cliff the lodge owner was on hand to assist with any queries - I contacted him regarding key collection and also when we arrived - very easy to get hold of. His friendly dog Maxwell bounces around the farm too and sometimes appeared at the porch door, much to the delight of our 2 year old. Thank you for a lovely trip away and hope that we will be back!

Our welcome hamper including bubbly and chocolates was a really special touch and much appreciated. It is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the county side with lovely views from the hot tub. Cliff is the 'host with the most' and greeted us on our arrival. We had our 4 year old daughter with us so he gave us tips on lots of great places to take her. He even gave us a guided tour of his farm and let her feed the goats and meet the brand new chicks in the barn, a trip we would have paid good money for. We will definitely be coming back, thank you.

Cliff, the owner is very friendly and helpful, suggesting several great places to visit. There is a review on here about the shower, i'm just over 6 foot and had no problems with the height of the shower. Would definately stay here again.

  • "Nice place, owner was friendly, however failed to tell us that we should take the plastic duck out of the hot tub while in the hot tub as this held the chlorine tablets for the hot tub."

not knowing this my wife's skin reacted badly to the chlorine. Shower looked great on pictures but if your over 6ft like me then it meant i had to sit down in it to use it - not ideal. heating didn't work in the master bedroom or en suite but as only there for 4 days didn't see the need to raise this. I would like to state that this place advertised as not allowing dogs which is great as i am very allergic to dog hairs but was surprised to see what i can only presume was the owners dog running around the site trying to get into the lodges and would randomly appear at your window on the terrace. From the pictures Heathcliff lodge at the front looks like the balcony terrace is enclosed which i though was great for my small kids meaning i could allow them out thinking they would be enclosed but that was not the case, it was only enclosed on 2 sides. Based on the above points id give this place 7/10

Thank you for your comments. We do strive to insure guests have a pleasant stay & we are disappointed that your time with us failed to live up to your expectations. The hot tub has full user information with it and further information is also available in the guest book, this information advises to remove the duck with the chlorine dispenser once the hot tub is in use. If we had been made aware of the heating fault we would have been happy to attended to it immediately . The internal shower height is unfortunately only 1.96m but does have a seat for the comfort of taller guests. Customer pets are not permitted , the owners dog however works along side the owner on a daily basis but he is not allowed into any holiday accommodation. Overall we hope this didn't spoil your time at Heathcliff Lodge. Property Owner
