  • "Beautiful apartment in the centre of Scarborough."

Within walking distance of the beach, the train station, and all the town has to offer. I was disappointed by the lack of Basics such as tea bags, not even salt. Just cleaning supplies. This small thing made a big difference for me. I won't be back.

  • "The accommodation was a real success."

I wasn't able to go but booked the holiday for my teenage son 14, niece 18 and nephew 17 and dad, 79. I was confident before they went that I had chosen well, that it was suitable for them, was near the beach, shops and 5 minutes walk from the train station and the place looked fantastic. I also found the owner on the phone to be personable and helpful. My son, who is very limited with praise, texted me on arrival clearly excited by the attic room that he was sharing with his cousin. I heard from my dad that views were great too. I knew the accommodation would be key to them having a great time and by all accounts I was told I'd chosen well and they had a wonderful break away and memorable time together. Thank you!

Reasonably well maintained but small bedroom carpet was old and in need for renewing however bed linen and towels immaculate and fresh. Very spacious and facilities are adequate for a good stay.

  • "Fridge very small."

Apartment not laid out very well. Sitting/dining room at the opposite side of the apartment to the kitchen with bar stools. Bannisters and backrests were sticky. Plug in shower room leaked water out and toilet seat was loose. The mattress in attic room was quite hard but the other 2 beds looked comfortable. There was nowhere to put bathroom items in the attic en-suite bathroom and there were no shelves or drawers in the bedroom. The only shelves available were covered in dust.

Hi there thank you for your review, I’m sorry you did not enjoy your stay however if there were any issues with cleanliness which I’ve never had before I would of happily sent the cleaners to go over the property. Regarding the flat layout the property is laid out perfectly well. I recommend you speak with Sykes to to check where you are staying and what sort of property it is. When you called me originally to locate the property you thought you had booked a house not a flat as you were trying to get into the gentleman’s property below the flat. Property Owner

  • "Lovely property, didn't expect it to be so large but that was welcomed!"

Amazing views, lovely and cosy and right in the centre. Yes there isn't parking but that was never an issue with several car parks really close by to choose from.

  • "The property is a wonderful town house situated in the centre of town and therefore all key locations are accessible."

However, there are more stairs than presented which does make a stay with a disabled relative and toddler quite tricky. Also, there is no parking at the property: the nearest options are the crescent (50m away but only allows 3hours parking) or the Palm Hotel car park (24 hours but a 10 minute walk from the property). There are disabled bays across the road and badge holders can park on the yellow lines directly outside. However, the hosts blocked this with their own vehicles so wasn't available whilst we were there. During our stay, we found the property to be rather tired and there were many snags which were not expected for the price paid: blinds not functioning, bins missing in rooms, kitchen missing lots of core equipment such as baking trays and mixing bowls, cupboard doors scuffed, weak showers, mould in the upstairs bedroom (and many more). We also found our hosts to be quite inefficient and almost hostile on our last day: prior to arrival, the key code is not offered voluntarily. Once received, the host did promise to let me know if an earlier check-in was available but did not follow this through. On the last day, our host parked his car directly in front of the property so we could not access the same to load our cars with bags. Also, the moment we had left the gate, our host charged straight into the property. Unfortunately, I had to return to collect a lost toy and was challenged for stealing a bath mat (which had not been at the property during our stay) and for the amount of bottles in the dustbin bags we had left in the correct location. As I was unable to find my son's toy, the hosts kindly contacted us to let us know they had found it. Even though this was greatly appreciated and meant a lot, this act of kindness was too late after the negativity witnessed and experienced. Overall, this is a quirky property with outstanding views. However, there does need to be work done (on both the property and hosting style) if this price continues to be charged.

  • "Not a good experience."

Bathrooms very very tired and not clean. Kitchen also dirty and around the hob greasy. Cutlery had to be washed before it could be used. Advertised with a dishwasher but there wasn’t one. The on street parking was for a period of three hours without the option to extend. Ended up leaving the car in a multi storey - not ideal. Shame because with some TLC could be a nice spot. Location good and rooms spacious.

HI there I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your experience at my property. If you had contacted me to say that there were issues with the cleanliness i would have sorted them immediately, however you didn't. In regards to the property it is very clear in what states the bathrooms are so im surprised by your comments. It is advertised with no parking but with on street parking around it with two NCP car parks 1 minutes walk from the premises. May i suggest you research your bookings and look to see what parking there is before you set off. Its not a hotel! Property Owner
