Food delivered from Pub is so tasty. The only addition I would have liked is a small footstool in the sitting room. After a long days walk it’s nice to be able to put your feet up and the sofa is a little uncomfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Prince Cottage is a well appointed, clean and cosy cottage in a very good location. We had some excellent walks on the coast along the Cleveland Way and on the North Yorkshire Moors. Private off road parking is a great asset and fast Wi-Fi. A bus service stopping nearby is perfect if you want to do a linear walk along the coast and end up in Skinningrove.

We agree with previous reviews that the settee is not comfortable, other than that overall a good property and value for money. We loved the fact that meals could be ordered from Kaskane and delivered to your door, excellent service and food. We would not hesitate to return.

  • "We had a lovely stay in 'Prince' cottage."

The dogs loved the nearby beach and the close by Kaskane cafe/bar served good food by very friendly staff. The area was ideal for touring North Yorkshire with local beauty spots close by. It was spotlessly clean, well furnished, the bed was comfy, there was enough cupboard space for 2 people and kitchen was adequately equipt apart from having some cooking tongues. A couple of minor quibbles. The bathroom could do with a small shelf for your toothbrushes etc. With it being dog friendly, a couple of dog water bowls would be handy and a floor mop to keep the hard floors clean and some spare bin bags; but these minor issues didn't distract us from having a great time and we will return.

..the location is ideal for visiting the local beaches. Kascane restaurant, literally two minutes walk from our cottage, served excellent meals, we ate there every night, apart from Sunday as they closed. Had two or three breakfasts there. Staff friendly and service excellent. Would highly recommend it. Plus our four dogs didn't want to leave.

Friendly owners who were there if you needed them. Cannot comment on food as the on site pub was closed until the day we came home. It's in a great location for visiting the area and if you don't want to drive there is a good bus service to Whitby. All in all a great weeks holiday.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped for self catering. Our puppy Bella had the best time in the enclosed garden and walking on the fabulous beach 10 minutes away. The Kascane pub on site was a little gem, the staff were so friendly and all COVID procedures were in place. The food was amazing especially Sunday Lunch. Thanks guys.

  • "It was wonderful to find the cottage so warm and welcoming."

The accommodation was even nicer than we expected. It was adequatly equiped for 2 or 3 people, though only just with crockery and cutlery. The only things we missed were a hair-drier and a shelf above the wash basin. If you wear glasses, that's a little awkward. There was a really good restaurant at the entrance to the site, popular and needing advance booking. Excellent food. Above all, we found everyone we met extremely friendly and helpful. We would definitely book Sykes cottages in the future.

  • "This was a walking holiday, we eventually managed four walks from the front door without using the car."

Skinningrove is a small village but Kasane the local restaurant is a few feet away, and the food was fantastic, but be warned the portions are large. The cottage was clean and surprisingly large. The bed was very comfortable. We literally parked at the little front gate. There is a bus stop just feet away, although we did not use it. One of the major plusses was the local people, both in the village and in the restaurant, all very friendly. The beach is a short walk away and there is a small park a few yards away, A nice little cottage for those with kids or dogs.

It was clean, tidy and beautifully decorated, with everything we needed for our stay. We received a warm welcome and were shown around the property. The tea, milk, etc. waiting for us on our arrival was a thoughtful touch. We enjoyed a relaxing stay and slept well in the comfortable bed. Lovely hot shower, and plenty of towels. The enclosed garden was a bonus, and would be a lovely place to sit in warmer months. So dog friendly too. Our Staffie loved it. Ideally placed for walking to Skinningrove beach, and for venturing out in the car along the coast to Whitby, visiting the smaller seaside towns, or exploring the little villages over the moors. The Kaskane restaurant is dog friendly too. We can definitely recommend their regular and vegetarian breakfasts, and their evening meals. We have recommended this place to friends and family, and will definitely be back next year.

The food & drinks in the cafe/bar on site was excellent, we ate there 3 times during our stay. The village was small and quiet with a shop open a few hours a day. There is a small park that you can walk your dog next to the complex, also a long sandy beach about 15 min. walk from the cottage. It is about a 30 min. drive to Whitby with many quaint shops and dog friendly cafes. I would certainly recommend this area to any people with dogs.
