"Overpowering musty smell luckily we were able to have all the windows and door fully open which helped but was present after a day out again."

This left us feeling quite grubby. Furniture well used, poor maintenance large cracks in toilet cistern, black mould and damp patch above door on entry, broken guttering, leaky roof reported on day we noticed water on floor boards in lounge area. Accommodation for 4 people but only 3 chairs for dining? Missing light bulbs and others not working. Fake flowers and plants huge dust collectors. Kitchen cupboard handles pitted and showing signs of rust. It's a good 20 min drive to nearest coast. Bedding clean but mattress quite old. Had this of been our only holiday of the year I would of been very disappointed. Property is not a 4 tick rating more like 2. I felt some items had been dumped in there as the owner wasn't sure what to do with them. Would not recommend

Hi Debbie, Thank you for your feedback New bookers will be glad to know that the cracked toilet cistern (which was due for replacement the week of your arrival but unfortunately did not arrive in time) has now been newly replaced and the unforseen circumstantial leak from the velux window due to exceptional recent heavy rain has also been repaired. I'm very sorry to hear that the barn and it's decor were not to your taste - being a period property, it reflects this in its style and selective choice of furnishings. Being that we also spoke face to face and you informed me that you were familiar with the area and had "been coming for years", I would have expected you to be aware of the property's proximity to the nearest coast? I would also have appreciated you letting me know at the time we spoke if any light bulbs had gone out, as I could have happily replaced these for you then and there. At any rate, thank you for your stay and for complimenting the cleanliness of my property, and I do hope your next holiday of the year proves more suited to you. Kind regards, Johanna Property Owner
