  • "Lovely property, well appointed."

Would definitely stay here again. Comfortable beds and sofas, very clean throughout. The only minor niggle is nowhere to put shampoo, shower gel etc in the en-suite shower

Dear Carole, thank you so much for taking the time to review Aurora, we always love to hear from our valued guests. We very much appreciate the feedback and will look to place something in the en-suite shower to hold toiletries. We hope to welcome you back one day. Neil & Pam Property Owner

  • "A beautifully clean and well appointed and equipped holiday home, with lots of space, comfy beds and thoughtful touches."

A great base. A little more information on the location (walking distance into Whitby) would have been useful on the main listing.

Dear Katherine, Thank you for this lovely review, we are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay at Aurora and found it a great base to explore Whitby. We hope to welcome you back one day. Neil & Pam Property Owner

  • "Great place, quiet and comfortable with lots of space and we appreciated multiple toilets across all floors!"

About 15 minute walk to centre of town and no corner shop to pop to although there's a big Sainsbury's 5 mins drive away. You can see the river from the lounge, just, and it's nice to walk along it to town. The keys were on a big key fob that actually makes it very difficult to put them in the key box and shut it. It took nearly 4 minutes to fit them in the box and get it to close so we could leave.

Dear Diane, Thank you for the review, we always appreciate feedback from our guests and we are so pleased you found Aurora a great place to stay and that it was quiet and comfortable too. We have never had any feedback with the size of the fob on the keys, so we will look into that, thank you for sharing. Neil & Pam Property Owner

  • "Thank you for a lovely stay, such a beautiful, clean home."

Amazingly comfortable beds, with crisp, whiter than white sheets. Very well equipped kitchen and sparkling bathrooms on every floor with fluffy towels. Utility room with washer and dryer and wine fridge was wonderful. The townhouse was well-decorated and tastefully furnished with quality furniture, appliances and equipment. Parking for two cars, which is a bonus in Whitby, as we could leave our car and walk in to town. Aurora is in a very good location, with riverside walk enabling a flat, easy, 10 minute stroll in to Whitby with lots of pubs, cafes and quaint shops within easy reach, plus good beaches. We have holidayed in Whitby many times over the years, but have never stayed over this side of the river before, it was perfect. We loved watching the NYR steam train from the comfort of our lounge on a daily basis. Wonderful days out have been to Sandsend, Staithes, Runswick Bay, Robin Hood's Bay, plus inland to Goathland and Grossmont on the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. Just to note, the townhouse is over three floors, we had a 2.5 year old who is steady on his feet, so this wasn't a problem, but child gates to close off the first and second floor to keep littles ones securely contained would be helpful. The only improvements we would suggest are to the outside back yard area. The paved area would benefit from being jet washed, cushions provided for the outside seats (could be stored in utility room) and provide a washing line and pegs to save on using the dryer in good weather. We definitely recommend Aurora and hope to return to this accommodation for another, comfortable holiday. Thank you.

Dear Holly, thank you so much for your wonderful review, we really appreciate the time taken to provide such valuable feedback. It is great to hear you enjoyed Whitby and Aurora and had a comfortable stay with us. Just to let you know that the back yard area is jet washed by myself regularly and there is a retractable washing line attached to the fence with pegs located in the utility room. We were advised not to place child safety gates in the property by the agents, but we will look into that. We thank you for the recommendation and do hope to see you return one day. • "Great property in Whitby as a base for both an easy walk into town and getting out and about to visit the lovely countryside and villages nearby."

Property was very comfortable modern and well appointed to be a home from home, with the benefit of both outside space and car parking. Owners are local and couldn’t be more helpful which made for a very pleasant weeks vacation.

In a quiet area and parking for two cars is a bonus, hard to find in Whitby.

Upon arrival, leave your car behind in the off-road parking space and head through the front door into your new home-from-home.

On the ground-floor there is the first bedroom, complete with a double bed, serviced by a cloakroom, whilst there is also a handy utility room with washer/dryer.

Move up to the first floor, home to the well-equipped kitchen housing all the essentials for home-cooking, including an electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.

A long dining bench stands in the centre of the room, providing a great spot to enjoy family mealtimes before heading to the lounge and collapsing on the dark green velvet sofas.

There is also a bathroom on this level, where you can freshen up with a bath or shower over before going about your day.

Continue to the second-floor to find the remaining bedrooms, offering a king-size with en-suite shower, and two single rooms each neutrally presented.
