"Very spacious, stylish and well-equipped apartment."
Great location for centre of Whitby but still very quiet and relaxing. Parking is a steep walk away.
Highly recommended.

"The apartment was superbly furnished , lovely spacious rooms , with a well equipped kitchen ."
The bed was soft but extremely comfortable, bed linen and towels were good quality but the duvet wasn’t and I think this has been mentioned before . A quality 4 seasons quilt would be much more comfortable with the changing temperatures.
Parking wasn't an issue as we know Whitby well, there is plenty of parking around Pannett Park.
We we definitely return.
Although the duvet is of good quality I think the problem is a too high tog rating combined with the hot weather being the main issues. An alternative has been sought. Property Owner

"Bed a bit too soft, duvet cheap and 'sweaty'."
Lighting in lounge too dim to read by in the evening. TV aerial badly connected, had to put a cushion under the flex. Not enough information given about the difficult parking in Whitby, where to look for a space etc. Problem with the central heating, timer needs adjusting.
Flat very spacious and comfortable on the whole, facilities provided were good.
Can't understand the feedback about the bed and duvet. Mattress and bedding is of high quality and comfortable as per other reviews comenting on the bed. TV has now been replaced with a smart TV and WiFi has now been installed. Parking is on street using scratchcards which are provided to cover your stay. The central heating timer has now had a new battery fitted and is functioning as it should. Thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

We could not fault the location or apartment. From Monday we managed to park with the scratch pass provided.
Glad you enjoyed your stay. Parking has always been a problem in Whitby so because of this we provide parking scratch cards free of charge for the duration of stay for all guests. Property Owner

"This is sold as a luxury apartment, whilst the apartment and location are excellent,Tv reception is appalling- no bbc channels and only 6 ITV channels."
Also no internet is a letdown nowadays. Also there was a pervasive smell of damp in the bedroom.
Internet and smart TV have now been installed. This service in this part of Whitby has only just become available. The poor TV reception was due to the recent fire at the Bilsdale transmitter which was out of our control. The new system is a vast improvement and the internet is superb. Property Owner

"The cottage and garden were wonderful."
However the directions to the property were abysmal. Parking was a terrible problem. There was a parking zone system in operation but no spaces available and couldnt park outside the property. We spent the first day - and it was only a 2 night stay - looking for a parking space - so our first day of the stay was completely wasted. I have to say that I would not visit Whitby again unless there was parking available at the property we were staying in.
Thank you for your feedback. We have reviewed the directions. Unfortunately parking in Whitby can be difficult during busy periods. Parking is on street using scratchcards which are provided free of charge to cover your stay. Property Owner

"The holiday was based on walking part of the Cleveland Way, etc."
We has good weather, and we found the accommodation at the Bolthole brilliant, better than expected. We found that everything we would need was catered for. A really comfortable bed as well.
The only drawback was the parking in Whitby. Fortunately on the evening we arrived we found an unrestricted parking spot on Chubb Hill Road.
We appreciated the garden furniture on sunny afternoons after a long walk listening to the birdsong with our tea and biscuits.
We would recommend the Bolthole as superb accommodation.
Glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you back again. Property Owner

"Advised as luxurious but did not really meet the description, comfortable yes."
Certain elements needed looking at: 3 lamps missing in lounge:2 lamps missing in bedroom: bedside lights not completely working :toaster not emptied :drain outside front door blocked creating a puddle . However, location excellent for all amenities, with the proviso
of the parking to unload your luggage. If you come by train or bus then no problem.
We have spoken to the key holder tonsure that all light bulbs etc are changed when needed. Apologies for the toaster, this had been overlooked on changeover. The surface drain has been a long term problem but I am glad to say it is now fixed and drains freely. Being a 250 year old building this was a challenge but thankfully it is sorted out at last. "I was just unhappy about with the C19 that there was no toilet paper, maybe they forgot that was the only issue"
It appears that this was overlooked by one of our cleaners, but glad you enjoyed your stay.
With reference to COVID guidelines, toiler roll would not really fall within these terms and would normally be provided and our cleaners do their best to follow the new guidance.
Thank you very much for your comments and for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. Customer feedback is very important to help us continually improve our standards. Property Owner

"The Bolthole, Whitby is located within walking distance of the railway station, and the rest of Whitby."
We travelled by train so that was important. The Bolthole was surprisingly spacious and comfortable, and the sun shone through the large sitting room window so it didn’t feel like a basement.

"Absolutely loved the location , so close to everything."
Some might find the parking and loading/unloading a problem but we were fine. Slight smell and noisy plumbing in the bathroom but it is an old property and a basement at that. We really appreciated the spacious, quiet apartment at the end of a busy day exploring all the wonderful things that Whitby has to offer. A bottle of wine and tea and coffee were provided as a lovely welcome touch.

A cafetierre
A TV that works and is not affected by bad weather
A dish washer
Enough toilet roll for the duration of the holiday
A welcome pack with a few bits of local produce including milk
Also the instructions for car parking need to be improved

"Very noisy toilet system."
Unable to get out to back of accommodation as door locked and no key . Having a key would have made it easier to unload car as we were able to park on the street at the back of the property. Also a small bottle of milk left in the fridge would have been a welcome especially for those arriving later on in the evenings . Other than that it was lovely .

"Cottage was beautiful however there was a nasty smell coming from the bathroom, we presumed the drains as it is such an old building."
However as the break went on the smell became less. The TV signal was appalling, to the extent that when we got back to the accommodation after a day exploring/walking we had to listen to the radio as we couldn't get any channels on the TV. Saying that we would book again as right on the doorstep for everything in Whitby

"When we arrived it was -2c and there was no heating on, the apartment was damp and smelled musty, we took in our luggage adjusted the heating and went to Costa for a warm and a coffee."
The musty smell continued for the whole week. The tv advertised as freeview well we had ITV on the Friday and Saturday when we arrived and then nothing until the following Thursday only BBC and then nothing again on the Friday. In the summer this would not be such a big issue but in the winter with dark days and long evenings we felt at least we could watch our favourite programmes as your brochure describes ie- freeview. On our previous visit there was rear access / fire escape via a door in the bedroom this is now locked with no key and the opening casement window has been sealed up meaning there was no ventilation which contributed to the musty smell and there was no rear fire escape.

"Parking in Whitby is a nightmare and visitors need to be warned of this!"
Also, we were told where to stop to unload our car - there was no parking outside the property - but no directions of how to get to either of the two streets recommended for on street parking. A map showing the streets would be helpful, and also being told there is a convoluted one way system! The street we needed was behind our property, but was really difficult to access initially.
Other than that, we had a very restful time.
