  • "This was our second stay at Brooklyn Cottage, and it was just as lovely as we remembered."

    It's in a beautiful location and has such a modern yet cosy, homely feel. The thoughtful welcome basket of treats for both us and our dog was a lovely touch and made us feel very welcome. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

  • "The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard."

    It’s comfortable, homely and has all the amenities you need. Set in an idyllic village it was a perfect base for days out to local attractions. Communication with the owners was great. We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage and would highly recommend it.

  • "We spent a fabulous 10 days at this comfortable and stunning cottage."

    The owners have done a fantastic job renovation it to a high standard. We would def stay again but did miss having a microwave and, staying for 10 very hot days, a washing machine! The village is really pretty and it is in a very good location for seeing the beautiful area.

We did debate on a washing machine or a dishwasher and decided on the latter following discussions with other holiday let owners, maybe the wrong choice. Apologies for that. On a positive note, we have managed to get the provider of the noisy water pump to exchange it so fingers crossed, a quieter shower from now on!   • "We had a great stay at Brooklyn Cottage; it's been renovated to a high standard with quality fixtures and fittings."

    The cottage was immaculate in terms of cleanliness and the welcome pack on arrival was very thoughtful. Lots to see and do within easy driving distance. Kirkby Malzeard itself is a pretty and friendly small town. There is an excellent butcher with a great range of products should you want to eat in. Really tasty fish & chip shop too. Local pub a bit of a let down but other great places to eat in the vicinity. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

  • "Brooklyn Cottage is amazing, superbly and sympathetically renovated without losing any character."

    All the fittings and fixtures are of a very high standard and the cottage was immaculately clean. The village location is great, fabulous butcher and fish and chip on your doorstep and the cottage is within easy reach of many local attractions. We felt at home the minute we arrived and were very sad to leave. We cannot recommend the cottage highly enough and we will definitely be back!

  • "I was very impressed with this property."

    It’s exactly as advertised. Very cosy, tidy, and I felt completely at home during my stay. I would definitely stay here again. It was also the perfect base for getting out and enjoying some really nice walks in the surrounding countryside. The house itself is lovely, beautifully renovated to feel modern while still keeping a warm, cosy vibe. Everything was well thought out and spotlessly clean. I really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the welcome package with snacks, milk, bread, tea, and coffee. It was a very kind gesture and made a big difference. Overall, a perfect stay.

  • "We came for a relaxing break and were not disappointed."

    This is a beautiful well thought out newly renovated cottage with an enclosed rear garden and we really enjoyed our stay here and will return. It’s the perfect base to explore North Yorkshire with walks from the doorstep. Had a lovely welcome pack which was a nice touch. The chip shop and butchers are well worth a visit .

Inside, the kitchen/diner is sensibly laid out and fully equipped for preparing home-cooked meals, whether you are planning relaxed breakfasts or hearty suppers after walking the local lanes.

The sitting room provides a comfortable area to relax, with plenty of seating and a Smart TV, making it easy to settle in for an evening after exploring the surrounding area.

Walkers and cyclists will be drawn to Nidderdale’s rolling countryside, with routes leading through nearby villages such as Laverton and Grewelthorpe, as well as access to Brimham Rocks and the wider Yorkshire Dales.

Pretty Kirkby Malzeard is one of a scattering of delightful villages, idyllically situated amidst the stunning moorland scenery and tapestry of lush green meadows of Nidderdale. The village is well served by a pub, a village shop, tea rooms and a local garage. The area is a walkers paradise with many footpaths and bridleways wending their merry way through the beautiful Dales countryside, whilst painters and photographers are also well catered for. The surrounding area boasts plenty of local attractions including the ancient monastic ruins of Fountains Abbey and beautiful Studley Royal Gardens (National Trust), Lightwater Valley Theme Park, the pretty village of Masham with its famous brewery and of course the cathedral city of Ripon. You will love exploring the impressive Brimham Rocks - 50 acres of huge rocks, weathered over the years into strange shapes giving rise to names like The Eagle and Dancing Bear. Both the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks are within easy driving distance, as are the towns of Harrogate, Knaresborough and the City of York.
