Wee Smithy

This was our second stay at Wee Smithy and we had a wonderful time again.

The house is always spotlessly clean, has everything you need for a great base to explore the Black Isle and the highlands and you have amazing scenery and beaches right on your doorstep, whilst transport links are still really accessible. We love sitting up on the balcony with a cup of tea after a busy day exploring. We hope to return again soon!

This is a beautiful house in a beautiful, peaceful location.

Everything is brand new and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed and couch. Easy access to Inverness, Fortrose, Cromarty, Nairn, and nearby walks and beaches. Will be returning.

The Wee Smithy was a beautiful base from which to explore the Highlands.

It was modern, fresh and extremely clean and well maintained. The views were amazing and the feeling there was tranquil. The owners were very welcoming and nothing was too bother. I’d highly recommend the Wee Smithy for a stay in Highlands. Loved it

Such a lovely place to stay, my favourite so far.

The view from the bedroom when you wake up is just lovely! Ran by such a lovely couple who are next door… they are on hand if you need anything but otherwise leave you to enjoy your stay. Perfectly located to explore the Black Isle and well beyond. You are away from it all in an easy to find location yet only less than 10 minutes from the A9. My dog and I had such a lovely stay and managed to finish the NC500 as well as visiting our favourite beach - Rosemarkie - and sit and watch the dolphins most evenings as it’s only 20 minutes from Wee Smithy. The place itself is so lovely well decorated and there was a nice Scottish hamper and milk upon our arrival! Loved coming back here at the end of everyday. Thank you for a lovely stay. There’s not one bad thing I would have to say at all. I would love to stay here again.

The accommodation was superb.

clean ,comfortable, had everything you needed plus extras snacks ,milk. lovely hosts and lovely views . A good base to explore the area.loved our stay.

We booked The Wee Smithy for the week 11 - 18 April 2026 because we liked the look of the place on the web site and the fact that we could take our dog, Buddy.

When we arrived we were hugely impressed by the standard of the whole accommodation! It was very clean, had everything we needed and was extremely comfortable. The little Welcome Basket was a lovely touch! Being out in the country it was also so very peaceful. It really is a fabulous little house and we absolutely loved staying there. Simona was walking Buddy early one morning and saw five deer in the field opposite! It was just amazing to see so many together at the one time. If anyone is looking for an AirBnB, with their dog, near Inverness, then this is the place to be! It is a fantastic house and worth every penny of the rent. Thank you for letting us stay there. Wee Smithy is the best cottage I have stayed in, since I have been doing these driving holidays to the UK in the last 5 years.

The owners who live next door are terrific, even helped me remove snow and ice from my car on departure.

The Wee Smithy is comfortable and peaceful but well positioned for visiting the interesting places on the Black Isle and around, like the Fairy Glen and castles.

The cottage is perfect.

Comfortable and cosy accommodation which exceeded our expectations with many extra finishing touches.

We had a wonderful stay at Wee Smithy, it was immaculately clean and very homely and comfortable.

We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed having tea on the little balcony with the lovely views and sunshine. It was a great base for exploring all over the Black Isle, the Highlands (up to John O'Groats via Thurso & Dunnet Head and back in a day), Inverness, Loch Ness, Glen Affric, Nairn and many more. Stunning beaches on the doorstep and peace and quiet - bliss, we didn't want to leave!

Absolutely amazing place.

So peaceful. Exactly where you need to be to leave the world behind. The owners have thought of everything to make you and your pooch feel welcome. All you need to bring is your personal possessions and two or three tea towels and enough food. A welcome pack was a very thoughtful touch. It was harvest time and the weather was perfect. A real good ‘back to nature’ break. So refreshing for the soul. Thank you so very much.

Such a warm welcome from the owners, a view from the house which we’ll never forget and the house had everything we needed and more . The welcome basket was a lovely touch. It was a short distance from the Allangrange which served delicious food. We highly recommend this property.

Spotless and every you need. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. I took a torch for walking the dog at night. Black isle brewery is in walking distance well worth a visit

Our best stay ever, real home from home will be rebooking for next year

It being a dog friendly cottage there was no information about a dog not being allowed upstairs this being the main bedroom and outside balcony we only received a text message on the morning of our travel to the cottage stating that this was the case if we had new this we would not have travelled to the cottage hugely disappointed

Lovely little gem of a place, spot on!

Perfect location to explore the Black Isle. The cottage had everything we needed for a great stay. We had a fantastic time & the hosts Angela & Steve were very warm & welcoming, lovely people!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wee Smithy, our dog Lola had a great time too!

Very clean and comfortable Would have liked a loo brush and a dish tray to collect the drips!

We had a fantastic holiday at The Wee Smithy,From the perfect location to the beautiful cottage,Both Angela & Steve were very friendly and welcoming,They have fantastic little touches that you wouldn’t get in many holiday stays ie bag of goodies with crisps,shortbread,wafer bars etc milk in the fridge for your arrival, soaps ,shampoo,etc.

They even brought us a large fan because of the hot weather.If you are looking for a little cottage tucked away in the country side BUT only 8 miles from a big city,Look no further as The Wee Smithy is absolutely top notch.Thanks again both we will be back.

We had a great time at the wee smithy.

It was well equipped and we liked that it was self-contained but also connected to the owners next door! We enjoyed walking in the locality and the dog friendly pubs and cafes nearby.

An exceptionally well kitted out wee holiday home with off road parking and a small secure garden area idea for doggies (paving & gravel).

Everything in the home was as listed and made our stay very enjoyable and relaxing. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and on hand but only if required (leaving us to relax, feeling unhassled and at home). Would highly recommend and hope to return.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay whilst exploring the Scottish Highlands.

The hosts were fantastic and made contact so we knew they were available should we have any problems - they even advised us on our journey there through the adverse weather. The Wee Smithy was exactly as per the listing, and even included some extras for us and our dog that we weren’t expecting. It was finished to a very high standard, spotlessly clean and extremely cosy. We would definitely visit again.

An absolutely beautiful immaculate property with lovely views.

The owners were very welcoming and very approachable if needed. The area is stunning and convenient to visit many areas in the highlands. We cannot fault our visit to Wee Smithy and would definitely return without hesitation. Thank you so much to Steve and Ange for your kindness...

The wee smiddy is a lovely relaxing holiday home for a couple.

There are plenty of interesting places to visit from the accommodation. The one thing l would suggest is to have a table lamp or dimmer switch as the down lights were very bright. This is just a suggestion. I would highly recommend the Wee Smiddy as a relaxing comfortable place for a holiday.

Wee Smithy is absolutely lovely.

It’s brand new and the place has been done to a high spec. Lots of lovely wee touches ie body wash, shampoo etc and a nice wee basket with goodies. Enjoyed sitting on balcony enjoying glass of wine enjoying the lovely views. Great location for Inverness, Beauly, Ullapool and surrounding areas. Would highly recommend this place. You definitely won’t be disappointed!!

Great cottage for comfort, cleanliness and location the only issue was in the discription it says there is a dishwasher and there isn't one.

Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.
