Step inside and you’re greeted by a warm, characterful sitting room where a woodburning stove takes centre stage, perfect for putting your feet up after a day outdoors. The Smart TV adds a touch of convenience for quieter evenings, while the overall feel remains that of a traditional, lived-in home. The kitchen and dining area is well laid out and practical, with everything you need to prepare hearty meals using local produce picked up in the village. A bright conservatory provides extra space to read, plan walks, or simply watch the world go by. Upstairs, two generous bedrooms offer flexible sleeping arrangements thanks to zip-and-link beds, making the cottage equally suitable for couples or friends sharing. The shower room is finished to a high standard, ideal for freshening up after long walks or cycling routes through the surrounding countryside. Outside, the enclosed garden is a real bonus, with a mix of lawn and patio that works well for relaxed breakfasts or evening meals outdoors. Parking nearby keeps things simple, and having village amenities just outside the door means you can leave the car behind whenever you fancy a stroll to the pub or shop. Bellingham is a great spot for walkers and nature lovers, with access to forest trails, riverside paths and some of the darkest skies in the country for stargazing. Hadrian’s Wall, Kielder Observatory and the historic towns of Hexham and Corbridge are all easily reached by car, while day trips to the Northumberland coast offer dramatic beaches and castle views. A fantastic cottage, a veritable home from home, in the heart of Northumberland.
The accommodation is very well appointed, maintained and, with the hosts close to hand, everything was of the highest standard. Situated in the centre of Bellingham, several NT attractions, Hadrians Wall, and Kielder, are within easy driving distance. Locally the walk to Hareshaw Linn is a highlight.
Linn Cottage is possibly the most spacious and well appointed cottage we have stayed in.
. Convenient walk to the shops and a choice of places to eat.The local area is awash with things to do and top of the list was Belsay Castle. Don't miss an evening meal at The Pheasant Inn about 20 minutes in the car and coffee and cake at Grants in Corbridge. Many thanks to Margaret for her local knowledge and attention to our needs.
