  • "We have , as a family , been coming to Grange Cottage for ten years ."

The proximity and parking are great plus points . The wood burner is easy to light , gives out excellent heat and provides a comforting focal point in the lounge . However , we feel that , Grange Cottage could do with an injection of TLC . An update in furniture and soft furnishings would benefit this lovely cottage . As regards the downstairs bathroom , there was a terrible smell of drains all weekend . We have noticed this during other stays . Sadly it doesn’t seem to be getting any better . We love to cook and have enjoyed many an evening doing so in the well equipped kitchen . Unfortunately the Aga does have its issues . The hot plates do not maintain the heat . Surely it cannot be just us that experience problems with it ? The outside light by the back door was very temperamental . It is important to have lighting there , especially in the winter months , to prevent accidents . We hope that you find these comments constructive and helpful .

  • "What a super holiday cottage, we loved our stay here."

Superb location and very cosy. The Aga took a while to work out but the plus side was the warmth in the cottage. Everything we needed was included. The fire in the sitting room was too much faff for us, so I would prefer a gas or electric fire for ease - just a bit of light/fake fire would’ve been nice. I would recommend this cottage and will definitely be back.

  • "The location was superb and the facilities were appropriate to our needs."

Level of equipment was very good. Decor was to a high standard. As the only cooker available was the Aga we should have appreciated more easy to find accurate information on its use. Fortunately I have used an Aga before albeit many years ago. Because the Aga is on all of the time and could not be turned off it made the kitchen uncomfortably hot in the fine weather we were lucky enough to experience.

  • "Beautiful property in excellent location."

Friendly owner. Great to have off road parking. Kitchen very well stocked. Bed comfy, sofas less so but not worth knocking a star off. Great shower pressure. Lovely garden, sadly too cold to make much use of. Many thanks for the welcome gift.

  • "The cottage was beautifully presented and in a lovely location."

Everything was very clean and the facilities were excellent. We would happily stay again - or better still move in permanently! Our only suggestion is that little signs were perhaps needed on the gates of the lovely shared garden, reminding other families that this is a shared facility.

  • "We have been coming to Grange Cottage for 10 years now, usually once a year."

We always enjoy our stay and especially the garden in May. We just felt the property seemed a bit tired and unloved now and needs an update. Suggestions would be more cutlery in the kitchen please. Didn’t seem like enough for six people. Also, the beds were uncomfortable and lumpy and one duvet appeared grubby and worn out. Hope this is helpful feedback.

The mattresses toppers have all been replaced and mattresses checked. Duvets all checked. More cutlery provided. We do endeavour to keep the property well maintained and is checked over at every changeover. Thank you Mark for your helpful feedback which enables us to keep the property in top condition. • "Second visit to this beautiful dog friendly property."

Blessed with lovely weather and consequently spent a lot of time out and about but enjoyed returning to our temporary home and the welcome of an AGA. Lovely to have parking and a very pretty secure garden to enjoy. The welcome gift of wine and snacks were very much appreciated. Hope to return again soon.
