  • "Absolutely loved our stay here."

We stayed for one week in June 2022. There were 3 of us and we had ample space. The accommodation is beautiful, very well thought out and done to a high standard. Very clean and comfortable, highly recommended. The owners live next door but unless you need them they leave you to your holiday which we appreciated. They do have hens who visit regularly though especially if you feed them

  • "Lovely property, well maintained, tastefully designed and comfortable."

The setting is idyllic (the road is a bit noisy) and it was a lovely time of year to be there with the lambs and the new shoots. The country park was a big plus for us as we could really easily go for a walk with our dog. The owner was very friendly and left lots of lovely treats for us, including some fabulous fresh eggs from the resident chickens. A couple of things in the kitchen would help - a colander and few more baking trays (smaller ones). I would overall recommend the accommodation.

  • "We come to the area several times a year to visit our family in Seaham but wanted to have a longer stay to explore the area."

Haybarn Farm was the truly perfect accommodation. The Barn is simply beautiful . So comfortable and spacious with everything you could possibly need catered for. Sited on a working farm its idyllic. Jo & Richard are perfect hosts & actually allowed us to see new born lambs born that day. The chickens visited every day which delighted our granddaughters. Watching the horses frolic in the field from our patio was our favourite thing. We did explore the beautiful area Bamburgh Castle & others too many to mention here but returning to the barn was always such a pleasure.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at the Hay Barn."

The owners are very welcoming and hospitable. They are generous hosts and want your stay to be perfect. The weather was kind at a time we don’t usually go away and the Hay Barn was warm, comfortable well equipped. I can’t remember the last holiday we had with towel rails that worked! If you’re hesitating about a visit to the Hay Barn, don’t. Just book and enjoy your time there. We will definitely return soon.

  • "We had a wonderful time at the Hay Barn over Christmas."

We greatly appreciated the extra touches, like Christmas decorations and fresh milk, juice, eggs and treats. The space is perfect for a family, with three very comfortable bedrooms, modern bathroom and a beautiful kitchen and living area. The firewood and log burger were greatly appreciated during cold cosy evenings. Nice walks right from the doorstep and good public transport links to Durham and Seaham. Highly recommend a stay here, we will certainly be back!

  • "We just spent a lovely week at The Haybarn, everything you need is provided, we are a couple with two small dogs."

There was a thoughtful welcome package and the place was warm and welcoming. It's a working farm and Jo and Richard, the owners, are about but not at all intrusive but it's nice to know, should you have a question. Everything about the property details is provided, all the information you need is sent to you after booking and is also in the house. Even towels for dirty dogs are available

  • "We really enjoyed the holiday."

The accommodation was excellent and we appreciated the thoughtful welcome pack. The only comment we'd make is that it would be helpful to have a grab rail in the shower and a slip mat.

  • "We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived."

Such care had been taken to ensure we were comfortable and basic grocery items, as well as homemade scones, were left for our use. Delicious home grown farm produce was also available for purchase. The farm was in a beautiful location with walks to the local country park. The Haybarn was spacious and extremely comfortable, with a strong Wi-Fi signal...this was important as a member of our party was working during our stay. It was such a peaceful place to be based and the farm animals were a lovely distraction. Jo was always around if we needed anything, but our privacy was respected at all times. It was a delightful place to stay.

We wanted for nothing as all those little extras in the kitchen often not provided were there in abundance. The owners were lovely people, not intrusive but around if needed and please take advantage of the delicious eggs on offer from the ubiquitous friendly hens around the farm. We cannot recommend this accommodation enough, perfect base for exploring the surrounding countryside
