  • "We enjoyed 5 nights at the property, on arrival we had to clear ice and snow to get up the drive, but once inside it was warm and welcoming."

Spacious rooms accommodated four generations comfortably. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals and has plenty of storage. An enormous boot room was great for the dog and storing outdoor clothing. Lots of local walks, plenty of pubs and restaurants in the area. The house has great views, is peaceful and relaxing. The nearest shop is a local garage ( supermarkets in Alderley Edge and Macclesfield), would advise taking supplies. If using a supermarket grocery delivery ensure the driver uses the drive directly off Birtles Lane near the church, then middle drive up to the property and if possible leave plenty of room in the parking area.

  • "The property was surprisingly a little larger than expected from phtos."

There were damaged items on arrival and would advise to check everything in property and report. Log & photograph every item on arrival or you will be wrongly charged for items, and extra cleaning . Advised to get detailed cleaning policy from both the owners guide at property and Sykes policy of cleaning as even though followed there are problems after departure. Report everything immediately or you will be invoiced and charged for pre existing damage so make sure you have your own photo evidence as soon as you arrive as you will need this after your departure. The property was not thoroughly cleaned before our arrival with old veg left in the pantry, full wheelie bins, very minimal cleaning products in kitchen, dead spiders in the bathroom, black hair on the bedroom carpet from previous stay. Cobwebs throughout property and floors dirty and childrens sock were filthy when they went to bed the first nght. You are expected to put the wheelie bins out on collection day down the long sloping drive to be collected and you will not have any room in the bins due to the previous stay filling them and the bin collection the day before you leave. This is supposed to be a dog friendly property so we were leniant over some aspects of the property but dont be as you will have allegations of cleaning after you leave even when you have been very respectful of the property. So you must inspect everything and report immediately. Very disappointing and stressful correspondence after our stay, terrible customer care with no help to us just very sided with owner and property definately not checked by Sykes .

We are very sorry to read your comments. We do check the cleanliness of all rooms and that nothing is left in the pantry. And this was never mentioned previously by yourselves. Bins are the guests responsibility. They shouldn’t be left in the property. The property is in the countryside, with only one collection every 2 weeks. The rental price cannot cover a trip to the tip on our part. We were shocked to find two loos totally blocked after your stay, which forced us to close our property for a week after in order to solve the issue. We are dog friendly but we found a chewed sofa cushion which we kindly asked for payment. We do request that dogs are not allowed on the furniture. All ground floor tall windows were dirtied with dog nose and paws. For the blocked loos and extra cleaning we felt that the 3 extra cleaning hours you had to pay for were justified. This was the first time that we were faced with the house left in such a state. Property Owner

  • "Had a very relaxing week’s stay at Higher Park Farm."

The weather was kind enough to experience some truly stunning sunrises and sunsets. The warmth of the AGA created a nice feel throughout the stay and I loved playing the piano in the evenings with the fire going. I had two 15 years old boy with me and they equally enjoyed every minute of the holiday. The location was perfect to visit Alton Towers, the waterpark in Stoke, hiking in the Peaks and some interesting museums in Manchester including Museum of Illusions. It was lovely to come back to a warm and homely place after the day’s of activities and end the day with cooking some superb meals in the lovely kitchen. I would love to return another time for more peace.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed staying in our home. Property Owner

  • "The house is situated at the end of a long narrow drive that is surrounded by fields."

It is a beautifully designed house, spacious and very comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped with plenty of storage. Fitted wardrobes in each bedroom with plenty of shelving, hanging space and hangers. Luxurious bathrooms. The garden is ideal for a dog to run around but it is not secure. After your walk, if it is muddy, there is a large room to dry off your dog and yourselves! We visited five NT places, Quarry Bank Mill, Lyme Park, Little Moreton Hall, Dunham Massey and Tatton Park so there’s plenty to see and explore in the area. Any problems can be sorted by a text or phone call to the owners or caretaker. Thank you very much much for our enjoyable holiday.

Thank you very much for your kind words. It was a pleasure to have you stay. Property Owner
