What a delightful property.

It's nestled in beautiful, peaceful countryside, with lovely walks nearby. As soon as you open the front door you feel welcome. The tea tray is ready and waiting, with everything you need, including lovely biscuits. The fresh flowers, cosy decor and very comfy furnishings make the lodge a perfect retreat. We also enjoyed the patio and the large spacious bathroom. The whole layout is practical and very generously equipped with everything you needed. It was spotless clean and reflects the care and kindness of the owners. A delightful refuge, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Lodge is immaculate, very spacious with quality furniture and fixings throughout.

The bed is extremely comfortable and the shower is excellent. The location is very quiet and peaceful and in a great spot for exploring the area. Thank you for the welcoming pack. We will highly recommend The Lodge to family and friends.

Without question, this is one of the most comfortable, best equipped, and cleanest cottages we've ever stayed.

A spacious cottage with first class facilities. Situated close to attractions in the Peaks and Manchester. Gilbert and George were welcoming hosts, as were the owners.

Plenty of places to visit with a railway station in Disley for easy commute to Manchester and Buxton. My second stay hope to return.

We look back upon a most enjoyable stay at The Lodge.

Everything we might need was there. Plenty of space in the well-equipped living room, kitchen and bedroom. Luxurious bathroom. Most welcoming hosts, thank you. Thank you also for the tour in your beautiful garden. One hint: it might be helpful to future guests to add to the instructions that the “unmade road” to the property is in fact a public footpath!

Accommodation itself and the owners were faultless.

The entrance to the lane off the road is almost hidden from view and at night extremely difficult to find.

A lovely property.

Warm, quiet and homely. Shame there is no sunset or field view and the courtyard is a little underwhelming but the house was so clean and practical. Superb location and easy to walk from the door into NT Lyme Park, down to New Mills and the village of Disley. Plenty of National Trust properties and genteel, interesting canal-side walks close by. Owners need to be a little more practical and maybe leave more kitchen foil/film and a small amount of clothes washing liquid and more than 5 pegs to hang it washed clothes. Minor niggles, it's a great value stay.

Lovely kind welcome goodies left by owner. Peaceful with a horse to look out to from the kitchen. Good base for this area of the Peak District. On arrival, turning down to cottage isn't easy to find but once you know it's fine, just a little off the road down a private track.

We found 'The Lodge' comfy, spacious & very well appointed.

It's in a secluded position adjacent to a quaint cottage near the Gritstone Trail. It's also within easy walking distance of Lyme Park NT Estate. There is so much to do & see in the local area. The hosts, Alan & Joan are very friendly & gave us a warm welcome.

We had a wonderful stay at the Lodge.

It was very spacious , clean & tidy. It was very well equipped. We found it to be very comfortable & cosy. Alan greeted us & was very friendly & helpful. We certainly will consider returning in the future. We visited Lyme Park, Bramhall Hall (which was amazing) & Blue John Caverns. All well worth a visit.

Our 4th stay at The Lodge - we love it for its beautiful & peaceful setting, spacious and spotlessly clean accommodation, and fantastic location for enjoying walks from the door as well as easy access by car to so many fantastic places to visit.

Spacious and well equipped property, which is well maintained and has all the comforts and amenities of home.

Tucked away in a superb location, adjacent only to the owners' cottage and just a few minutes' walk from Lyme Park. Numerous country walks on the doorstep but only a mile and a half by road from Disley village, which has plenty of facilities. The owners were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely go back. This property was very well equipped.

Better than most I've stayed in. However a knife sharpener would be useful. It is in a lovely rural location with great views. Unfortunately access to the property means driving down a muddy uneven lane, not suitable for cars with low base. The owners lived next door and Alan met me on arrival. He was very nice and helpful. I had 4 days of beautiful weather but was unfortunately stranded indoors for 2 days due to amber alert weather. Nobody's fault. I would return again but would choose the dry season. I recommend it.

Cannot fault "The Lodge" on anything. Ideal accommodation and the location to explore all walking & cycling trails etc. It's also a pleasure to come back to at the end of the day and chill out with a glass of wine. We packed tons in. But if you just want to do nothing, this is also the place. I highly recommend this. What a wee gem!!!

The property was very comfortable and it was well equipped.

Ideal for walkers that want to go straight from the lodge as we did 3 lovely walks. I'm sure it would be lovely in warmer weather as we didn't utilise the patio area. The bath was lovely at the end of the day for a soak to soothe your legs after long walks ready for the next day. Would definitely recommend and book again.

het is een fijn huisje.

is op zijn engels schoongemaakt dus niet super schoon. wasmachine niet gebruikt zag er niet schoon uit. wifi is matig maar wel mee te leven. goede service. zijn zeer vriendelijk. het huisje was minder goed bereikbaar zeker na flinke regen. in de omgeving is veel te doen binnen een uur rijden. ligt veel informatie in het huisje wat echt fijn was. de banken in het huisje zaten niet fijn deze na 1 minuut niet meer gebruikt. bed is prima. badkamer is ook prima. Ik zou het huisje gerust nogmaals boek. is groot voor 2 personen. heel goed genoten van dit huisje. De 2weken zijn omgevlogen. ondanks het wisselende weer heb ik me goed kunnen vermaken.

We loved our stay at The Lodge.

It is spacious, clean and comfortable with a lovely outdoor sitting area for warm sunny days (not much sun during our stay but that did not spoil our enjoyment. Particularly liked the location in a isolated spot but close to the shops where there is a butcher, bakers and co-op. There are plenty of attractions to visit with not much more than an hours drive. We visited Dunham Massey, Arley Hall, RHS Bridgewater, Tatton, The World of Wedgeworth and Wentworth Woodhouse. There are others as well as these. The surrounding countryside was lovely and I am sure there are some lovely walks for those that enjoy the exercise.

Our stay was made all the more enjoyable by the quietness of this out of the way location.

Very clean well kept the trouble was the road not good and parking not good have to park at the top of a incline under trees and every morning at to clean the car Windows and the car was in amess

The Lodge was lovely, well thought out layout and sliding door to private patio was perfect in the hot weather we had.

Furnished well and sofas and bed very comfortable. It was in a lovely rural setting, calm and peaceful. Easy parking and very close to major roads so easy to travel round the Peaks. Friendly owners. Lots to see in the Peak District and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The cottage and its facilities were excellent.

Its location were ideal for us with easy access both to friends and family and to Lyme Park and the Gritstone Trail. .

This was our third visit, we love The Lodge because it is peaceful, well equipped, clean and spacious - and very well located for exploring this beautiful part of the world on foot or by car.

We especially loved being able to walk into the beautiful Lyme Park from The Lodge. We hope to return again!

Excellent cottage.

Very high quality interior. Quiet and peaceful location. Access to the cottage is down a rough narrow track.

We arrived in the dark and the access road looked like a footpath!

I assume there is a good reason for no signage to holiday cottage but a note in the blurb advising it is a very rural, tree overhung lane, would be helpful. The location is idyllic.

Spacious, clean, well equipped and quiet accommodation in a beautiful location and with friendly helpful owners. So quiet and peaceful and yet easy to get to so many wonderful places to visit.

Really enjoyed our stay at The Lodge.

It's comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The only sounds were from the birds, sheep and bees, a very relaxing place. There are many walks from the door, we didn't use the car at all during our stay. Would certainly stay again.

Nice clean cottage, plenty of room, good area for walking, we managed quite a few walks from the door, but access along the track not great and not impressed with the parking area or the distance to it.

The lodge is very comfortable and spacious .

Peaceful surroundings but only a short drive from Disley for any provisions needed. Plenty of places to visit , Disley also has a railway station which I used to meet up with friends in Manchester. Really lovely property enjoyed my stay .

Fabulous holiday cottage.

..super country walks on your doorstep and only a few minutes to local bars and restaurants.

Beautiful accommodation, well cared for and equipped, with quality furnishings, set in lovely countryside with walks from the door.

One payment, no extras for linen, towels or heating, so once you've paid it's time to relax and enjoy this comfortable property and the surrounding area. The owners are just next door should you need anything, and are very friendly, informative and helpful. We'd definitely recommend and love to go again.

What an absolute hidden gem, ive lived in Disley all my life and didnt know this was here, untill we looked at Sykes for somewhere local to stay while our kitchen was being renovated!

Great if you want peace and quiet, off the beaten track with some lovely countryside around you, the Lodge itself is very well equipped for all your needs and the very friendly owner lives next door so only have to ask if you need anything.

Beautiful cottage in a secluded location.

Very well equipped and comfortable with everything you would need . Clearer directions are needed as on a very wet midwinter night we crossed into Derbyshire having missed the dark turnoff for Mudhurst Lane. We realise the owners like privacy but some reflective markers on the lane to the property would help and clearer signage as a path to Lyme Park is straight ahead for walkers only. Your car would be easily damaged if you weren't aware of this if you hit the boulders. A torch and wellies are a necessity.

Beautiful cottage.

Extremely clean and peaceful. Such a relaxing place. We mainly used it as a base for my initial visit to The Christie. Lovely walks around which I noticed. Would absolutely stay again

Had a great stay at the comfortable & very clean & warm Lodge.

We found the dishwasher & washer/ drier very useful & easy to use. The tea, biscuits, milk & flowers were very welcome on arrival & a thoughtful touch. The owners were very helpful when we managed to lose the cottage key. The only downside was the fact that it wasn’t that easy to find & down an unlit dirt track so we didn’t feel we could stay out after dark. But I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Lodge, it’s only 10 minutes from Lymm Park & in a great area to explore the surrounding countryside.

Lane to cottage un even and a bit overgrown with slope leading to lodge cottage was great plenty of space and comfortable.

Everything had been thought of in terms of what would be needed by the customer. Superb location. All information in the Lodge was extremely informative with regard to it's facilities. There was absolutely nothing as far as we were concerned that could be faulted. I would more than recommend a stay at the Lodge. Superb walking close by and Disley is a lovely place to be based. Excellent all round. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place to stay. Another visit is most definately warranted.

It was well equipped and comfortable with all amenities. It is in a beautiful setting, very quiet and an ideal getaway. It is just a 25 minute walk from Lyme Park house and an easy drive to many places in the Peak District. There are lots of footpaths locally if you didn’t want to drive. Joan and Alan were helpful but unobtrusive. The welcome tea, biscuits and flowers were appreciated. The Lodge was spotless and we felt safe there. Alan’s directions to the property were useful as it is down a track as there are no other houses near, but that is its charm. Thank you again.

The location is great to explore the high peak area.

The cottage had everything that we needed and had that bit of extra space that 2 person cottages don't always have. The owners were friendly and helpful. An excellent holiday- despite the rain!

The Lodge was an absolute gem.

Very private and not overlooked by anything. Exceptionally well appointed with everything you could need for a totally chilled and restful stay. We took our own provisions but local ammenities are only a short drive. Walks and cycle rides on the doorstep with Lyme Park just down the lane. Joan and Alan are the perfect hosts and only too happy to help with anything. The flowers and biscuits were a lovely touch anf the Lodge was immsculstrly clean. We will definitely book this again.

always a bit wary of niche style accommodation specially on a budget.

.but this gem far outweighed our expectations. the setting was good for us and the size brill. the quality of the furnishings excellent. I would recommend to anyone wishing a country retreat holiday...five stars for the owners.

Spacious accomodation. Very peaceful. Good location for higher Peak District.

The Lodge is a self contained place to 'be', in the beautiful countryside yet minutes away from local amenities.

The owners have thought of everything and made us feel very welcome. Warm and comfortable inside and with a lovely private patio to sit out at. A real sun trap. Birdsong, beautiful gardens, wildlife and public footpaths surrounding you. A wonderful break. Highly recommended.

An outstanding cottage.

We walked from the door to Lyme Park (Pemberley in TV Series Pride and Prejudice. The views and walking are excellent. From here we visited a variety of places and enjoyed the walking.

The Lodge is a delightful little cottage, and it really is genuinely very quiet and off the beaten track.

It is also very comfortable with excellent facilities throughout and the bed was a stand out success having a v good mattress which gave 100% success rate to this insomniac! The owners are pleasant and helpful and had given us a little welcome tray of tea and biscuits which was much appreciated at the end of a long day. There are plenty of walks near by in Lyme Park and further afield and some great places to eat. Please also use the local village butcher in Disley who supplies very good quality meat and needs to be supported in order to survive the competition from supermarkets. All in all, a great holiday and I have no hesitation in giving the place 5 stars.

Facilities good at cottage and particularly good shower/bathroom which was beyond our expectations for a rental cottage.

Found that it was a bit sparse on cooking apparatus e.g. no baking tray except one suitable for roasting joint of meat (we only wanted to put some ready meals and a prep-prepared apple pie in the oven nothing fancy) and no tool to flip food except one meant for the barbecue. Everything else great though, lovely that they left us milk, cookies and nice flowers to welcome us. Met Alan twice during our stay - friendly, welcoming yet not intrusive. Location is down a very narrow lane - we were ok but if you have a sports car may be a bit close on the spoiler!
