What guests are saying
wonderful barn beautiful scenery great place for alton towers, chatsworth house and close to Stoke-on-Trent
Beautiful detached cottage with great views and various wildlife to see.
Very clean and nicely furnished. Lots of books and games in the lounge. Would return again to this one. About 15 mins drive from Leek which has Sainsburys, Lidl and Aldi. Tesco is about the same distance away in the opposite direction.
I loved my stay here in Roaches View Barn.
Fiona greeted me warmly and to give some instructions and advice about the local area and after that she left me to it. I had her contact details if I needed anything from her but this was not required. The cottage is set within a working farm with animals that come right up to the property. There is a farm yard smell but I got used to it quickly and this didn't bother me but something to bear in mind if you don't like that sort of thing. What made this property even better for me were the little things. There were fans already on, small motion sensors which activated at night allowing for easy access to the bathroom at night, there is a fire guard, highchair, stairgate and travel cot all in the cupboards around the property. The kitchen was well stocked for our stay with enough utensils to cook anything we needed and there was a load of entertainment options in the living room cabinet (although we didn't use these in the end). This cottage suited our needs perfectly to visit the local area and Alton Towers. The setting an views are lovely, the cows are lovely to just sit and watch and in all we had a very comfortable stay.
