Clovermead Cottage

Our first impressions on arrival where very happy.

Comments noted from earlier reviews was excellent and informative. The traffic noise from the A38 is notable but did not spoil our stay. Lots of walks on the doorstep ideal for dog walking. Plus canal walks to very nice pubs/eateries added bonus they are all dog friendly. We will definitely return. Carole,Ted and Sooty.

What a great cottage.

Lovely setup with wonderful layout. All of my family loved their stay here. Great Garden for the dog with wonderful dog walks right out the front door. Cool in the warm weather too. Lovely welcome pack with home grown vegetables too. Thanks for wonderful holiday. Owner's friendly too. All the bits were there inc salt pepper, dishwasher tablets and soap in bathrooms.

Lovely cottage extremely comfortable sofas and bed very nice slept like a baby

3 times at Clovermead and once in Orchard we love the peace and quite no dog with us this time we did miss him but didnt let it spoil our time here just very different.

All perfect for us and Rosemary kind and helpful. Traffic doesnt bother us we live near M2 so used to it. Loved the boat trip on Mercia Swan and National Memorial. House is very clean and everything in good working order wanted for nothing lots of places to visit and bread milk and biscuits left for us and all cleaning needs thank you so much hope to return Pam and Derek from Kent

This holiday cottage was brilliant.

Had all the amenities you could ever need. Had lots of extras for the elderly or disabled like grab rails in bathroom, stool for using in the shower and even an invalid chair if you needed it. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely highly recommend it.

This is one of the best properties we have stayed in.

It. Ticked all all the boxes for our stay especially the view from the lounge. Our dog Mollie really enjoyed the secure garden. Great walks on the doorstep. If there was one downside it was the road noise.

Our second visit to Clovermead Cottage and a delight to return.

The property is a credit to the owners with everything well catered for. Sitting out on the balcony overlooking the big garden area watching our "Pip" (cockerpoo ) enjoying hurtling around in complete safety was an added bonus. Highly Recommended.

A lovely clean and comfy bungalow.

A huge sun soaked outside decking area overlooking the garden and fields does suffer from constant road noise from A38/A50 but from inside you can't hear it, so was not a problem to us. Bed was oh so comfy, we slept like logs. Very private and didn't see anyone apart from the owner all week, which was brilliant. Felt like home throughout. Kitchen has everything in abundance and lots of pretty crockery. Entire bungalow was well appointed, maintained and looked after. Can thoroughly recommend Clovermead to future guests. We would love to return.

This cottage was pretty much ideal for us (elderly partially disabled couple with a small dog) with a good feel about it, plenty of space, a nice secure enclosed garden for the dog, and a very nice outlook.

Owner (and her dogs!) were very friendly. Bed was very comfy, ensuite walk-in shower had good grab handles and a wet seat, and there was even an orthopaedic chair available in the living room (the sofas were also comfy, but rather low if you have bad knees)! Being so close to the A50 there was noticeable traffic noise when outside (although not at all noticeable inside). The garden deck was *very* slippery when wet (although we were warned about this) which is the only real negative - overall we were extremely happy with this place and would certainly come back if staying in the area.

Was a perfect stay for my 88 year old mother and I.

Everything was local to us and this meant not much travelling. I would stay again, the cottage was well set out overlooking the garden through the large French windows. Think we watched the garden more than the TV. Very private and great parking. Friendly area, locals great.

Very comfortable with open views from the lounge and thoughtfully furnished and equipped.

Great hosts as well, thank you

Had a lovely stay at Clovermead during the Christmas week and it was everything and more than we could ever hope for!

Lovely and warm accommodation, very comfortable and clean, well equipped, with a friendly and approachable host and our cottage decorated for Christmas too! It was the perfect festive getaway for us! Tucked away, the cottage is a short walk into the village centre and with plentiful walks for our dog from the doorstep. It was an ideal base for us and not far from the Peak District and a lovely visit to Chatsworth House and Gardens. We loved Clovermead and would be more than happy to stay again!

We had a lovely week at Clovermead Cottage perfect in every way lovely and peaceful

This was a lovely warm, comfortable cottage and the owner was so friendly and helpful.

The property was perfectly placed to access the wider area of Derbyshire. Loads to see and do. Lovely walk along the canal and friendly locals. I even brought home a bag full of apples courtesy of the owner which I was so grateful for. Thank you Lisa and Carl

very spacious, welcoming and clean.

Owners were very helpful and courteous.

I can't thank rosemary and her family enough for our stay at clovermead cottage.

You thought of everything my parents are in there 80s and found the cottage very comfortable. Once again thank you rosemary it's people like you that put so much effort in that keeps me holidaying in Britain

A lovely cottage a short way down a single track road.

It had everything we needed including bread, milk, biscuits and homegrown tomatoes which was all most welcome after a long journey. The beds were very comfy and the smaller sofa was the most comfortable I've ever sat on! The noise from the A50 is very loud, but not noticeable with the windows closed. A highly recommended holiday home.

We had a lovely time at Clovermead Cottage.

Could not fault it at all. It was clean and comfortable. They had thought of everything. There were board games and books in the cottage for the wet days and outdoor games for the sunny weather. The location was ideal too. Quiet and relaxing but close enough to places to travel around. The large enclosed garden was an added bonus for a 6 year old and his canine best friend. Definitely one to return to.

Excellent accommodation everything you need for a getaway break.

Well equipped kitchen, lounge and view over the field is very relaxing. Some nice walks locally with pubs for “emergency thirst) lots of places to visit. Rosemary & Felicity welcomed us and we’re most helpful in every aspect inc directions to local attractions. A most relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Wonderful cottage, very comfortable and spacious.

Loved the fact there was lots of cutlery, pots & pans etc. not short of anything. The spacious garden was lovely for our dog and secure all round. Big decking which is a lovely sun trap and private. Lovely sized rooms. Plenty of walks in the area. Lovely hosts.

A perfect holiday, lovely garden and lawn for our dog to roam around.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. The only bad point was that we had to leave to go home.

Beautiful bungalow, well maintained and very comfortable.

Lovely walks along a path which goes down to the canal. The garden was fantastic for our Labrador to have so much freedom with the fully enclosed large garden. At the bottom of the garden was a field with a horse. Immaculate inside with large patio windows. Only down side for us was the noise from the busy road nearby but with the patio doors closed there was no noise heard.

We couldn't have picked a more perfect place for a relaxing break.

Clovermead cottage was spacious, homely and had everything we needed and more, including a lovely enclosed garden for our dog Jasper. We all enjoyed seeing the horse every day in an adjacent field. There are also some lovely walks nearby. We met the owner, a lovely friendly lady and thanked her for the welcome gift of biscuits, bread and milk. My husband drives for a living and welcomed the week of relaxing in a comfortable environment. So much so, we are coming back next year to stay in the other cottage on the estate.

2nd stay in Clovermead 1 in Orchard love them both all positive no negatives Rosemary and family were friendly and helpful meet on arrival and came to say goodbye on leaving lovely welcome pack left and cottage was very clean as always have booked for next next year.

weather perfect loved the garden and horse in field Harry our spaniel loved the garden and didnt want to get out of car when we got home he is sulking roll on next year Pam Derek and Harry Springer Spaniel

This is a well thought out cottage .

Very peaceful. And very comfy. The owner is very friendly and helpful and has spent a lot of time putting a well planned guide to the area .

Perfect cottage.

We were holidaying with my elderly parents, and mum has mobility issues. The cottage was perfect... lots of space, a walk in ensuite shower. There's even a frame available, on request, for around the toilet (which we didn't realise til later unfortunately- but not the end of the world). Lovely aspect, and views across the fields. Secure, enclosed gardens for the dog. Access to the decking from main bedroom and the living area. A welcome pack was provided and the underfloor heating throughout kept the place very cosy. Plenty to see in the area - lots of ideas and information provided by the owners. We had some beautiful meals out and about. Mum and Dad loved it - and so did we - so I think we'll be going back.

This is an absolute Jem.

What a place, everything you need for a great holiday. The bed is very comfy, the place is clean and the area is fabulous for walking, eating out and supermarkets not far. Will be coming back again next year. We also had beautiful weather too so that helps everything too.

Lovely comfortable cottage with a brilliant outlook , we loved looking at the horse in the field & the birds on the feeder !

We stayed at Clovermead Cottage the week of 30 Dec for the week.

We were out and about visiting family so the cottage was mostly used as a base for sleeping, breakfast and general getting ready and we were then usually out until the evening. The cottage was as described - warm, clean and well looked after - so we’d recommend it. We also met the owner Rosemary who was welcoming and friendly and who left some bread, milk and biscuits for our arrival. Overall a pleasant stay - the only thing to look at is that on one night when it rained the noise of the rain water pattered quite loudly outside the main double bedroom patio door. It was possibly water from the guttering (or rolled up canopy above the door) that was collecting and then splashing onto the veranda so it woke me up a few times. You can hear traffic from the A road behind but it doesn’t disturb you. Overall though we’d recommend the cottage as a location for exploring the general area.

We had such a lovely stay at this cottage whilst visiting family in the area.

The cottage is warm and very comfortable and has everything you need. The view from the big windows of the wildlife and the horse made our stay. Thank you so much, we will be back. Zoe and Shaun

The property would be ideal in the warmer weather but unfortunately it was impossible to heat the building to maintain a comfortable temperature.

So much so that as we could not feel comfortably warm even though the owners tried twice to improve the situation,we vacated the property half way through our booked stay.I recognise that both being in our eighties we probably feel the cold more than younger people but it should be comfortable at all times for anyone.

Beautiful, comfortable and well-equipped cottage in a great location.

We had a very relaxing few days. We loved the light and airy nature of the property and our dog loved the fully enclosed garden. As per other reviews, there is a constant background hum of traffic noise from the local A roads but it's not at all disturbing - it's much preferable to being close to a smaller road with traffic going right by the house. Lots of great walking with the dog from the property and lots of beautiful places to visit nearby. And a fabulous wealth of tourist information in the property. Just wish we'd been staying longer to take advantage of it all.

We had a fabulous stay at Clovermead.

Great space for relaxing. Lots of places around the area to visit. Owners were on hand if anything was needed. Definitely booking again

Best holiday cottage ever!

Whilst we had a brilliant week weather wise, this cottage was so comfortable and modern. Lots of space in a lovely environment. Everything about the cottage was first class. With patio doors to the lounge area and bedroom, breakfast with a view was a sheer delight. We don’t usually decide to return to the same cottage in the future but in Clovermead Cottage we will make an exception as we will definitely be back!

With lovely views this bungalow is spacious and well equipped.

The wild birds and the gluttonous squirrel are frequent visitors to the bird table add the horse in the next field, quite a view. Nearby traffic noise can get loud but wasn’t too intrusive. If going to south Derbyshire again I would consider this property.

A spacious and well equipped cottage that enabled us to relax.

The closed garden with a large lawn area was much appreciated for giving our dog some space. The nearby walks were of great value.

Brilliant cottage , spacious and well maintained.

All on ground floor which is great for my husband who has mobility issues. Our Grandchildren loved the spacious garden (the dog did too) . You can hear the noise of traffic on the nearby major road but not when you are inside.

Beautiful Cottage in a beautiful setting, absolutly loved it, made really welcome Cottage was so cosy and very well equipped also a lovely welcome pack too.

Would highly recommend this Cottage and would love to go back.

Wonderful extended stay in Clovermead.

Everything we needed to make us comfortable. Lovely and warm, which was great as we stayed in winter. Best bit was the beautiful view where we spent many hours bird watching and looking at the sunsets. Highly recommended and many thanks to the owners.

Very nice bungalow and location - will visit again.

Lovely cottage ticks every box for us, very comfortable, clean, great fully equipped kitchen, 2 good bathrooms, 2 tvs, in great private village location with good parking, easy to get to main A roads, hosts Rosemary and Felicity nice friendly helpful ladies, couldn't need anything else, would definitely recommend to anyone.

We are in our 70s and have stayed in countless cottages, this is right up there.

A very clean, comfortable and well appointed bungalow in a very interesting area, with lots of places worth visiting.

We felt very welcome. Thank you.

Perfect.

No issues at all in any aspect of the Cottage. Very clean and comfortable inside and a beautiful garden to relax in. Some very good local walks enjoyed. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely week staying at Clovermead cottage.

It had everything we wanted. A relaxing holiday. The cottage itself was really comfortable and welcoming. The bread, milk and biscuits were a lovely touch. I loved watching the birds and squirrels in the garden. Plus we had fantastic weather. Brilliant

Went for a week with my elderly Dad, so everything being on one level was ideal.

The lounge/kitchen/dining room is open plan and makes the bungalow feel very airy, plus it is extremely well-equipped. You can sit outside on the decking, which is accessible from the lounge and there is a lawned area for dogs if you have one (we don't!). Yes, you can hear the A38 when sitting outside, but inside the bungalow is very quiet and relaxing. In particular, we enjoyed visiting Mercia Marina, which has great shops, cafés and barge trips - perfect for all the family. We met Rosemary, the owner, and her daughter, Felicity, who were both delightful. Bread rolls, shortbread, milk and home-grown tomatoes were left for us, which were very welcome - thank you very much.

We had a lovely week at Clovermead Cottage.

The cottage was spacious with two good sized bedrooms, large lounge looking out onto decking and private secure garden, the kitchen was very well equipped with appliances, utensils and crockery. Bathrooms were both excellent, great having the bath for the kids. The cottage is well located, although there was some road noise from A38 once windows are closed this can barely be heard. We visited Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall, Markeaton Park, Moorways Swimmimg Pool, Crich Tramway and Matlock. All places within easy driving distance. The owner Rose is very friendly, milk and bread on arrival plus even left out a paddling pool for kids as weather was good. Definitely recommend,

Clovermead Cottage is an ideal holiday home for dog owners.

The garden is enclosed and there is a good choice of walks straight from the doorstep. There is a convenience store within walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation is lovely and suited our needs.

A cosy and well equipped cottage with lovely, dog secure garden.

Is in a good location for exploring the local area with nearby access to the A50 and A38. Owners are helpful and left welcome gifts of milk, bread rolls and biscuits. Great little local shop/post office in the village.

We have been self-catering for the last 45 years and this cottage was , without doubt, one of the best we have stayed in.

Would heartily recommend it!

Enjoyed our short stay in a lovely cottage.

Well maintained and cosy . Lovely outlook. Noise from nearby main road can be heard when outside but it would not put me off going again. Comfy beds .

The accommodation was very bright and airy with comfortable seating plus a reclining chair which was very helpful for my husband.

There was everything we needed in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, including tea sugar etc. The view from the lounge over the garden and decking area was great. Thoroughly recommended and will certainly come back again.

Derek & Pam Loved Clovermead best cottage we have stayed in was lovey in every respect.

It was so cosy didnt want to go out during the day just stayed in garden which was ideal for dog he loved it don't change anything it was so peaceful. traffic noise did not bother us could hear it in the cottage at night Didnt want to leave thank you for letting us stay. Village shop needs improvement so rude no reflection on owners of cottage

Wonderful holiday cottage in lovely friendly village, with lovely host.

Yes, you can hear the hum of road traffic, but not really when the doors are shut. I live in the middle of nowhere, and it didn’t keep me awake! Plenty of areas to go walk and visit. The cottage had everything you needed, and felt quite private with countryside views

Couldn't fault the cottage and the welcome from the owners My mum is semi disabled and it was perfect for her even extra help was offered from the owners.

Very well stocked with extras to make our stay more comfortable Garden nice and secure for our dog with lovely views of the countryside and wildlife Thank you

Enjoyed our stay at Clovermead.

It had everything we needed and everything worked fine, although it was a little old fashioned in some respects. But it was cheaper than some other holiday lets with similar facilities. It had a nice LG 48” television in the lounge that looked fairly new. There was a good sized garden area at the back which was enclosed, so we could let our dog run around off lead. There were a few steps down to the garden from the decking terrace, so it may not be possible for a disabled person to get down to the garden. There was quite a bit of traffic noise from the nearby A50 road. The bungalow is near the owner’s house, which is just outside the village of Findern down a narrow road. We didn’t walk far along this road as it and the grass verges were quite muddy (although we saw others walking their dogs there). We were there in March, so it is probably much nicer in the summer. It was a nice place to stay while we explored the surrounding area.

The proprietor, Rosemary, was very helpful, welcoming and thoughtful.

The cottage is spacious, light and airy, The underfloor heating was much appreciated. The only serious problem for us was with the low level cooker (we are elderly and found the bending difficult!) We were able to make visits to local sites where we met articulate, enthusiastic guides. It‘s a good area to visit

Lovely stay in Derbyshire cottage very warm and comfortable.

owner left milk bread and biscuits all greatly appreciated also made suggestions of places to visit also greatly appreciated. Would recommend.

Rosemary and family were great hosts from the minute we arrived.

The extra touches at Christmas were lovely and they even sent a birthday gift and card to my grandson on his 1st birthday.Nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.We will definitely book again.Thank you

Comfortable, spacious cottage, well equipped and lovely and warm.

Great, secure garden for our dog and lovely outlook onto fields. The owners were very welcoming, helpful and even provided milk, bread rolls and biscuits to start us off. Good location for us to visit friends in Burton-On-Trent.

The cottage was lovely and comfortable.

It was a wee bit noisy with co stant traffic from the A38, but this tended to lessesn with time as you got used to it. Off the beaten track, but close enough to get to the canal and some beautiful areas to walk. Some good pubs nearby. The village shop was expensive, so provisions would be better bought at the nearest big supermarket. The dogs loved the enclosed garden and had a great time scrumping the apples from the trees. A lovely place to base a stay overall.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Clovermead Cottage.

It was the best cottage we have ever stayed in and is so well equipped with everything you could ever want whilst on holiday. The owners are delightful and it was lovely to find not only bread rolls and biscuits, but also milk in the fridge to welcome us. We certainly hope that we will be able to return for a visit in the future.

Cottage is comfortable and has everything you need.

Ideally located for visiting the many attractions in the area.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful and had everything you could ask for .

I loved siting on the Decking in the morning having my coffee and totally relaxed during our few days away. It was close to all the places we wanted to visit And the little village of findern is so pretty Rosemary was lovely and she left us milk and bread and cookies which was a lovely touch Really recommend this lovely cottage and wouldn’t hestitate to stay again here .

We had an amazing week at Clovermead Cottage.

The cottage is beautiful and in a lovely location. It was a lovely surprise to arrive and find the owners had left milk in the fridge and some lovely biscuits. The house is very well equipped and the added bonus of a wide selection of sports equipment in the garden was a huge bonus for our children, tennis and badminton, basketball and croquet were all enjoyed during our stay. There was also a good selection of games for all ages and the owners kindly added hungry frogs to them for our boys to use during the stay. The house has a beautiful outlook and from the decking/lounge we spotted lots of wildlife highlights being a barn owl, buzzards, bats and long tailed tits who were busy on the bird feeder in the garden. The owners are lovely and gave us some tips on places to visit. Markeaton park nearby is a fantastic place for families. There is so much to do nearby we will have to come back as we couldn't fit it all in to one week. Thank you for a fabulous time the boys were in tears and sad when we had to leave as they'd enjoyed it so much.

The cottage is lovely, clean and open.

The owners provided many little extras and a welcome pack, thanks for that. There is a useful decking with comfortable seating and a large fenced garden which is ideal for children and dogs. There is a lot of information provided about the area e.g buses, tourist places, supermarkets etc. We certainly enjoyed our time here.

Excellent property and location.

Hosts very welcoming and accommodating, to the point of providing a few basic good items on our arrival. Always on hand and available in case of need.

This was a lovely cottage in lovely grounds, very well equipped, the most brilliant thing was the owner has put a folder in there with postcodes, distances and times to get to just about everywhere from car parking to places of interest, shops, cafes, vets and anywhere you are likely to want, on top of that the owners are so friendly, definitely will be returning

Lovely cottage.

Lovely owner. Very welcoming and helpful.

A lovely quiet spot, with lovely views over the countryside.

A well stocked, clean and comfortable cottage. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and we would definitely recommend this property.

Lovely well positioned and well furnished bungalow.

...we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the owners were really helpful and obliging.... we'll definitely stay again

A property with a real WOW factor.

Rosemary, David, their daughter, not forgetting their lovely dogs, couldn't have been nicer. Lots of places to visit within a short drive and walks from the door. Would thoroughly recommend.

Had a lovely stay at Clovermead cottage.

Spacious, comfortable clean accommodation with lots of extras-cleaning items, soap, books, games.

Excellent information book. However constant road noise from A38 even at the weekend.

Very well maintained property, contained everything one could posssibly need for a holiday home.

Owners on site (next door), left lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated. Lovely area just outside Derby, so within short drive of all facilities but set within a lovely rural environment.

Liked the location, good bus service in village to Derby and Burton, good for walking off road to canal with good pubs up/down the path.

Some noise from A50 bypass and flight path.

Lovely cottage in a secluded and picturesque location.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. Would happily stay again.

Another great break at Clovermead Cottage.

This is the 4th year that we have been there - it gets even better each time, even though we never think that it can. Rosemary and David are fantastic hosts, they are about if you need them, but certainly don't impose themselves. The accommodation is a fantastic size. so comfortable and has a wonderful outside space. Looking forward to next year already!

Lovely cottage, owner was really helpful.

Ideal for my Husbands disability as easy access.

The cottage was lovely and Rosemary was incredibly helpful and kind.

The location of the cottage was ideal as it gave me the rural setting that I enjoy and the access to a very wide range of activities and places that made my family very happy. When I made the booking in February Tanya was extremely helpful and really went out of her way to help me get the best possible deal. I would certainly recommend Sykes and Clovermead Cottage

The owner communication is great and they are very dog friendly.

The cottage is superb with a lovely fully enclosed garden which our dog loved and meant he was very safe too. Milk in the fridge on arrival and biscuits too, was very well received after a long drive and a late arrival. Will defiantly return

We had a lovely stay at Clovermead cottage,it had everything you could need and Rosemary, the owner was so kind and considerate.

All in all we would highly recommend it.

The paddock shown on screen has been fenced off So now much smaller also a new bungalow has been built a few mtrs away

The cottage was well appointed, clean and we had a warm welcome from the owners.

The location was ideal for our needs, and we enjoyed the many opportunities to explore the local area.

Lovely dog-friendly cottage, well equipped and well located.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. Although being close to main roads this was not very noticeable, especially when in the cottage. The surrounding area was great for taking the dog on walks.

Excellent week at Clovermead once again.

Everything clean and ready to go post Covid lockdown. Have already booked again for June as the cottage is so comfortable and very convenient for the Derbyshire Dales. Highlight this time was a visit to the National memorial arboretum.

Clovermead is a beautiful, spacious cottage with a fantastic garden.

The cottage contains everything you need and more. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We visited Kedleston Hall, Calke Abbey and the wonderful National Memorial Arboretum, all within easy reach. Dog walk and morning coffee every day at the Mercia Marina was very pleasant. I would certainly recommend this cottage.

Lovely cottage well equipped nice and clean.

If you have a dog lovely secure field/garden. Friendly/helpful owners

Wonderful, cosy cottage.

Very well equipped. Amazing huge dog friendly garden that our golden retriever loved. Yes there's noise from the A38 but you can't hear it from in the house. We liked being able to walk into the village and getting the bus into Derby or Burton to do a bit of shopping! Mercia Marina is an easy walk and a lovely place to visit too. Would definitely recommend.

Clovermead Cottage was comfortable and spacious.

Everything we needed for a great holiday. The walks around the Cottage and the area were awesome. We caught up with family and friends and it became a great base. The owners with friendly and approachable and very generous. Would go back again and again.

YOU NEED TO GET THE COTTAGES' ADDRESS CORRECT!

IT IS IN FINDERN VILLAGE, AND NOT BURNASTON. THE DIFFERENCE IS PROBABLY 2 DAYS SEARCHING AS ITS 5 MILES AWAY!

The bungalow was lovely and comfortable, the garden was lovely, safe and secure for our dog and the owners were very helpful and friendly but not intrusive.

The only failing we had was the 24hr droning from the A50 but nothing can be done about that.

best cottage so far for people with disability problems.

plenty of room to navigate scooter or wheelchair .owners rosemary very helpfull .

Just a fabulous, relaxing place to stay.

Wonderfully central, wherever you want to go. Clovermead Cottage is so comfortable and well appointed, we came back for a second year. Findern is also a beautiful village, with great walks and THE most wonderful tea rooms. If you want space, inside and out, facilities nearby and lovely hosts, this is the place for you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Clovermead Cottage.

We were surprised at how large and secure the Garden was. Our Doberman loved the space and we felt comfortable in the knowledge that he was safe and unable to escape. The Cottage itself was clean, spacious, well equipped and in a wonderful location because you had walks on your door step. The only downside was the noise from the road but reading previous reviews we were fully aware of this before our visit. The owners were extremely helpful and informative without being intrusive. I would recommend this bungalow to anyone who has a dog, loves the countryside and canal walks.

The cottage is absolutely beautiful and the views are brilliant - having so much land for my dog to run around in was an added bonus .

the welcome pack was indeed welcome .

Excellent accommodation with lovely secure garden, glorious on a lovely day but unfortunately we had the wettest week possible.

Such a shame as what looked like lovely places to walk around the cottage. The road is noisy nearby but you quickly get used to it. Would recommend to friends and family. There was a great choice of leaflets letting us what was on and where to go in the cottage and a lovely welcome pack on arrival.

The Cottage was very spacious and comfortable and in a great location to visit places of interest.

It is very well equipped and beds are comfortable. We were given a warm welcome and Rosemary was very approachable. The village of Findern is a quaint english village with a cute tea shop and some nice pubs with food.

It was a superb cottage which we would go back to another time and would definitely recommend to everyone whether a couple, with friends or as a small family - ideal.

This cottage was perfect for our needs.

Our dog loved it. Everything in it you can need or think off. Owner is extremely nice and pleasant. Looking to book again but fully booked most months so that actually says it all

We spent Christmas week at the cottage with our family.

Rosemary, the owner was very helpful in making sure our preparations went well. The kitchen was so well equipped that I cooked a full Christmas dinner easily in it. There were Christmas decorations up when we arrived & Rosemary even helped with our Christmas tree. Been twice now & e joyed both visits. Also nice to be greeted with a basket of groceries upon arrival

Initially I was disappointed with the price.

The price I had to pay did not match that advertised on Holidaylettings. I phoned Sykes Cottages and was told there was an issue with prices being quoted under the actual price for Cottages managed by Sykes when advertised on Holidaylettings. The cottage was wonderful. Very homely and spacious. Apart from a hair drier we had everything we needed. So lovely to have a welcome basket of milk, bread rolls and mince pies. Thanks Rosemary. We will be back.

A great place to stay.

The owners made us feel very welcome and included a welcome pack. The enclosed garden is great for dogs and there are lots of walks from the bungalow. Will book again

Large enclosed garden ideal for any pet dog without worry of escaping and the hosts, Rosemary and David, ensure your stay is a pleasant one.

Would recommend to anyone with mobility problems with or without a dog! Only thing to be aware of is traffic noise from nearby A38 but you soon get used to it.

We had a lovely holiday at Clovermead Cottage, we were really pleased with the accommodation, the garden was an amazing secure space for our dog to run around in and enjoy.

The cottage is spacious, very comfortable and we liked the owner's thoughtful touches and the welcome basket of delicious goodies was extremely kind and generous. There was lots to do and see in the immediate and surrounding areas, we came back from our holiday relaxed and refreshed and would definitely recommend this cottage.

This cottage was absolutely amazing.

We just couldn't believe the space and comfort that we had. The facilities were there to relax inside, on the balcony or make use of the amazing outside space. The owners were amazingly friendly, but not 'in your face' and you were left very much with the feeling that nothing was too much trouble. The welcome basket was fantastic, and so welcome after a long trip. The walks around the local area were wonderful, and we can definitely recommend the tea shop in the village. Would certainly recommend this to anyone who wants good facilities, countryside but conveniently close to Derby and Nottingham. (We have already rebooked for next year!!)

Enjoyed our second visit very much.

Very comfortable cottage with huge garden for the dog so everyone was happy. WiFi added since our last visit which was useful. Great location.

Such lovely accommodation.

Beautiful setting overlooking countryside and a horse in the adjacent field. Lots of space and the children made good use of the dvds and games supplied. Ideal site for visiting our family who live on Mercia Marina and only a short drive to Burton and Litchfield for shopping. Will certainly use again. Thank you.

The owner were very welcoming, they kept the cottage well maintained and organised.

With plenty of inside and outside space for kids and dogs to play safely. Giving us parents a much needed break too. The little touches were appreciated, A welcome basket was provided with homemade jams, marmalade, oils, home grown veg and fresh eggs etc... Nothings seemed to be overlooked From torches, kids nightlights to outside toys and games. We also enjoyed watching the horses in the adjacent field. This is our eighth cottage holiday and the most relaxing stress free so far.

Lovely cottage in South Derbyshire, with good, clean facilities; dog-friendly; lovely walks along the Trent-Mersey canal just minutes from the cottage.

We were made very welcome by the owner, with milk, scones, and other provisions. The kids really enjoyed the garden, and my wife and I enjoyed the verandah.

This property is such a gem.

So comfortable and spacious. They have thought of everything you could possibly need. The garden is so large and lovely for the dog to enjoy, It is in a lovely peaceful location but handy for lots of places to visit. The owners are really lovely and friendly but not intrusive. My 88 year old Mum and her dog went with me and we had a wonderful time. The en suite wetroom is ideal for Mum and Rosemary provided a toilet riser and shower stool to help Mum be independent. She really enjoyed her stay. This is the second time we have stayed there and hope to go back again. The welcome pack was wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anybody looking for a nice comfortable holiday.

This was a good choice for the area.

Rosemary and David were very friendly and welcoming. Great welcome pack when we arrived. Would recommend to anyone. On the list for a possible return.

ideal cottage lovely big garden our dog had a good time running around with good walks round the village , great base to visit surrounding areas Rosemary is a very welcoming host a nice welcome pack and dailly fresh eggs for sale at the entrance to the property, good cottage for anybody with mobility issues ,this was our second visit and hope to visit again

All the 'cottages we've booked with you have been very good indeed.

This one was excellent. There is no need for me to say that Sykes 'exceeded expectations' as we got what I expected to get from you, given the previous history..........

Cottage was the best have stayed at, beautifully designed and decorated.

Owners were very welcoming.

It is not the first time I have stopped at Clovermead, Rosemary and David had decorated the lounge for Christmas for me and put up outside lights on the decking area, brilliant nothing is too much trouble for them.

I had family over the Christmas week and they supplied an extra table so we could all sit down together and enjoy the festivities. Clovermead is a real home from home for me and my dog Remy just loves the large paddock around the cottage to run safely around in. The double bed is very comfy and I always sleep well, the Wi-Fi added since my last visit allowed me to do my work [even though I was on holiday] mainly had a relaxing time though in lovely well equipped cottage would recommend to anybody Thank you Rosemary and David for another excellent stay.

Absolutely stunning cottage.

A nice homely warm feeling when we arrived. Situated in nice grounds, garden is a great size. Handy location for Derby for what we needed. No wifi but that wasn't a problem for us, phone signal will get hampered by solar panels. But they are not bad points. Nice little village nearby in Findern.

Great location, lovely, clean, modern accommodation.

The owner was very helpful in supplying mobility aids and provided a hair dryer when I asked for one.

Although the listing made reference to the road noise, we were surprised by the level.

This was a fabulous bungalow with stunning views and very well equipped.

Rosemary made us very welcome and provided a lovely basket of goodies on arrival. A real gem of a place

lovely cottage idea for people with mobility problems, great garden the dog loved it , great base to explore ,Rosemary the owner made us very welcome

We felt at home from the moment we arrived and saw the welcome pack.

We then received a warm welcome from the owner. The cottage was spacious, warm and well equipped. The grounds were ideal for our dog. There was plenty nearby to see and do.

Wonderful lodge in a beautiful setting.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. Perfect setting for my birthday weekend ! Honestly can't think of anything to fault and would not hesitate to book Clovermead cottage again.

Spacious, well equipped accommodation in a lovely location.

The owners live next door and were on hand if needed but very much left us to enjoy our short break. Would recommend.

A wonderful place to stay.

The owners were very welcoming. Excellent location for our dog with wonderful walks right outside the door. Excellent garden, very large and secure - again perfect for our dog. Would certainly stay there again.
