Orchard Cottage

Orchard Cottage was lovely.

The cottage was clean and had everything you could need for a holiday. The beds were so comfortable we all slept well. The garden was a bonus. The weather was amazing. Yes there is road noise from a very busy A38, but to be honest after an half an hour it was only a hum that didn't bother us at all. Felicity and Rosemary (owners) were lovely. And we'd like to thank them for thinking of everything even milk, bread and biscuits for us on arrival. Lots to see and do close by. We had a great holiday. Thank you.

WOW.

If you want an away from it all in a beautiful cottage this is the place for you. Spotless clean, attention to detail, the furniture and super comfy beds were the best we have stayed in. Thank you for the use of your wonderful cottage.

Lovely cottage, wonderful garden everything you needed.

Lovely owners nothing too much trouble went above and beyond to recover our dogs ball which he is obsessed with Thank you

This is our second stay and we enjoyed it as much as the first time at clovermead.

Lovely cottage, spacious, everything we needed was there. Beautiful garden, our dog loved it too.

Very well equipped, comfortable bungalow.

Lovely garden with decked area.Nice local walks and places to explore further afield. Would definitely recommend and would like to return.

We had a lovely short stay at this beautiful bungalow, everything we needed was there and the little extra gifts waiting for us was really appreciated.

The gardens were beautiful and our little dog Bella had a lovely time. Couldn't fault the bungalow at all. You can hear some background noise from the busy road nearby but you got use to that. We meet one of the owners who came to introduce herself and to see if everything was ok and she was lovely. We were travelling to Queens medical Centre every day to visit my Husband and the drive was only 30-35 minutes and an easy drive so the bungalow was in a perfect position for us. We would definitely visit again, thank you to the lovely owners.

Perfect accommodation in a lovely area.

Really well equipped, with lots of extra touches like games books etc. lovely hosts to welcome you aswell as a welcome pack.

Had a very good stay at Orchard cottage very well maintained and clean all the comforts of home .

Garden great for the dog as was fenced all around and secure. Had a lovely time thank you

Very nice cottage, huge enclosed garden is perfect for dogs.

Choices of outdoor sitting areas was really nice. Very private, really welcoming and comfortable relaxing place to unwind and relax. Expect road noise, but you soon get used to it. Lots of walks from the door and the village with the tea room and shop was perfect. Marina also was a nice place to visit.

This property was fantastic.

We had 2 dogs and it was a winner from the start with a great enclosed garden, we estimate 150 feet in length. The dogs loved it, chasing the birds and each other. The cottage was lovely and spotless with a nice welcome gift when we arrived. I would highly recommend.

Cottage was great, spacious, clean and the bread/millk etc on arrival good touch.

Garden was superb, both of dogs loved it, never seen our collie so tired. Owner polite abd checked in to see if all OK.plenty of walks nearby. Info on arrival in some folders was helpful. The only downside, and surprised it's not been mentioned before, the noise from the A50 was constant, which was a shame, other than that a great place to stay, especially if you have dogs, they will love it. So much space.

Such a fabulous cottage.

Bright, spacious and airy. Very comfortable and well equipped, literally everything you need is provided. A very well equipped kitchen, large bedrooms with comfy beds and lots of storage, and TVs. A large comfortable lounge area with a Smart TV, and patio doors onto an enormous garden. Our dog absolutely loved the garden. Lovely views too, and good walks right from the door. Great location for exploring Derbyshire, the Peak District and surrounding areas. We cannot recommend this highly enough. It is so good we booked for next year on our second day there. Rosemary and Felicity were lovely, helpful and keen to make sure everything was perfect, and it was. We loved it.

We had a lovely week at Orchard Cottage.

The cottage is really comfortable with beautiful gardens. Great for our dogs they loved it. Good location, plenty of walks on the doorstep....wonderful !!!!

On arrival, our first thoughts were, ‘the photos don’t do it justice’.

It was immaculate and so spacious. The garden was huge and our shitzhu Coco, loved it. The welcome pack of milk, bread and biscuits were very much appreciated. We were very lucky with the weather, so we were able to visit many places, all within half an hours drive of the property, Staunton Harold, Ashby, ashbourne, Mercia Marina, and Dobbies garden centre. We are planning on coming back later in the year The property had everything we needed and more. Thank you so much, Rosemary and Felicity

A fantastic property, warm and beautifully presented.

The garden is great for the dogs, fully secure. A great location, a short walk to the canal and marina from the door.

Once again a very cosy comfortable stay in a well maintained cottage.

A beautiful village… peaceful surroundings. Highly recommend this cottage.

It was a lovely stay.

The owners are lovely. Our dog Rusty loved the garden. The squirrels kept him on his toes. First class accommodation

Wonderful place really enjoyed it

We had an amazing time here a couple of weeks ago.

It's one of the cleanest and nicest places we've stayed in and we've been in a few! We loved it so much we are already planning on booking again soon! The huge garden was a huge bonus for the dogs, and with walks from the door, it was in such a good spot, private, yet not far from places. Everything about our stay was perfect, we even got fantastic weather too. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely bungalow Rosemary and Felicity. We hope to see you again!

The cottage was lovely and clean.

The settees and beds were comfortable. Everything you would need was provided. The owner was close by if need but not intrusive. There was a huge garden which was well maintained. The noise from the motorway could be heard from the garden but definitely not from inside the cottage. There is a small shop in the village and a little cafe which is handy. Lots of dog friendly pubs close by. Overall a great property to book.

Everything we needed to enhance our stay was available.

Lots of wildlife to watch in the very large garden. Many places of interest to us to visit in the area. Kim & Sue

The Cottage was very clean, very spacious and fitted all 5 of us and a dog easily.

The cottage provided everything we needed for our stay and the bread, tea, milk and biccys were an added benefit from the owner. The garden was massive and our dog loved it. One of the best homes we have stated in.

Fabulous cottage with everything you could wish for and more.

The garden was amazing, our dog had a great time exploring. We'll definitely visit again

We would highly recommend Orchard Cottage.

Lovely and clean with a fantastic garden, which is completely secure. Our dog especially enjoyed running round it. You do get some traffic noise from A38, when in the garden, but get used to it. The only downside was the weather, which no one can plan. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Orchard cottage is clean, warm & comfortable with a large, safe, enclosed garden which can be seen from all windows.

All rooms are spacious & light. Well equipped kitchen, quality bed linen & towels. Bread, milk, biscuits, tea, coffee & sugar welcome pack. Owners are very helpful & friendly but not intrusive. Noise from nearby main road is background & not a problem. Easy to find & a short walk into village. Good position to access roads for all directions. Will definitely book again.

Amazing cottage and very well equipped with great hosts - there is noise from main road but it did not affect the holiday ….

Lovely enclosed garden for the dog

Orchard Cottage was perfect for us in everyway.

Harry our mad springer loved the garden and freedom to run off lead Would be returning Clovermead last year Orchard this year hard to decide which one but do think Orchard wins due to garden but like both Clovermead closer to carpark Traffic noise did not bother us cannot hear it in the cottage

Spacious, light and airy and very comfortable.

Everything you could need supplied. Owner friendly and helpful. The garden is lovely, poppy, our dog, had a wonderful time.

we will be back - great for dogs and safe for cars

Cottage was really well equipped, nice and clean and owners were really friendly and helpful.

A lovely holiday cottage with everything you could want, very warm and cosy with comfortable beds and sofas.

A fantastic secure garden which our two dogs absolutely loved. A bit of traffic noise from the nearby motorway but that is mentioned in the description so wasn't unexpected, it wouldn't detract us from going again as it's such a nice place in a lovely village with friendly people.

Lovely cottage and garden.

Had everything we needed. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Plenty of nice pubs and walks in the area. Would highly recommend and hope to go again.

We found the property to be very spacious.

We were a party of 4 adults and 2 border collies. The very large garden was perfect for the dogs and they amused themselves, whilst we watched them from the warmth of the cottage. The cottage had been decorated for Christmas which made our stay more enjoyable.

Wonderful accommodation at Orchard Cottage.

We were made most welcome by the owner. Extremely comfortable cottage, warm and with every facility. Our little dog was in her element exploring and playing in the expansive garden which was safe and completely secure. Lovely walks right from the doorstep and pubs and eating establishments a short distance away. We would love to return to such a friendly area.

A lovely big, clean, bright and airy cottage with a huge safe garden for our Mabel (Lhasa) and her Cousin Daisy ( Shihtzu).

Lots of thought has gone into making this place comfy inside and out with chairs and tables on porch and really comfy bed and another table on the suntrap garden and a thoughtful welcome package. Great situ for visiting the beautiful Peaks or just relaxing with a walk near by. We shall be back :)

A very enjoyable week away at Orchard Cottage.

On arrival, the cottage was found to be very spacious, clean and well presented. The garden was very secure and our dogs loved it. The underfloor heating was very effective and kept us warm at all times. My only positive criticism is that the kitchen appliances are dated, and the fridge accumulated pools of water internally.

The owners were very friendly and the cottage was lovely with an amazing garden

A spacious and comfortable bungalow with a large enclosed garden which our dog loved.

The bungalow had everything that we needed for a relaxing holiday. It is close to the A38 so you can hear some traffic noise if you are outside but it didn't bother us. It is situated in a quiet village but with easy access to surrounding towns. Would highly recommend this bungalow especially if you have a dog.

Orchard cottage a lovely bungalow set in a large lawned garden.

It had every thing we needed for a great stay. The milk, biscuits etc a nice thought. The road noise is soon forgotten. We had a wonderful restful week and I think the sunshine we had was a special order! Will recommend to friends etc.

Great cottage and the owner welcomed us.

Milk and biscuits provided on arrival. The property was spacious and the garden was the same which our four legged friend had a great time in. We have booked to go back again next year.

Lovely cottage and a great stay.

Rosemary was very welcoming and advised us of local walks and also recommended places to visit around the area. We found the cottage very comfortable with everything that was needed on hand. Local restaurants were very good with the Bubble Inn exceptional for their Thursday Greek Night! Would recommend this cottage to anyone even if you don’t have a dog, Lots of local walks from the from the front gate and the canal path was great leading to the marina and Willington. Will definitely come again if in the area.

What a lovely, roomy bungalow in a fantastic area with a very large private garden for the dogs.

I have nothing negative to say about this place, the owners have thought of everything to make it a holiday home from home, we loved it thank you.

Orchard Cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped.

Rosemary came to welcome us soon after we arrived, and again to say goodbye just before we left. We particularly enjoyed watching the rabbits and birds in the garden. If only we lived nearer, we would definitely stay here again. We can recommend Tea at Three in nearby Melbourne for afternoon teas!

An absolutely stunning property, set in an ideal location for lots of country walks.

The cottage was exceptionally clean and provided everything required for a wonderful holiday. It was definitely a home from home. Rosemary one of the property owners we met was warm and friendly. I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends.

We’ve had a wonderful time in this beautiful cottage.

So comfortable for all of us .The dogs just loved the large safe garden. The very friendly owner has thought of everything for your comfort.

Was met by the owner and was greeted by her very friendly, Coffee,Tea Milk, and Biscuits.

All the mod cons which we were impressed with, peaceful stay except by the rumbling of the Motorway. would recommend to friends and family

Beautiful clean, comfortable and spacious bungalow.

On arrival there was a parking bay allocated for the property. After a walk down the garden path you reached the front door. Shortly after our arrival the owner kindly came to see if we had settled in and was only next door if required. We loved the large secure garden for our dog although there was traffic noise from the nearby dual carriageway. There were many walks from the doorstep leading to nearby nature reserves and the canal. It was so lovely seeing the primroses, cowslips and bluebells. Also plenty of interesting areas to visit not too far away including Willington's Marcia Marina, Calke Abbey and beautiful reservoirs for woodland walks. We really enjoyed our week's holiday. Thank you to the owners, Rosemary and David.

Very thoughtful owners high standard and amount of crockery and kitchen items.

Very clean. The beds and sofas very comfortable. Plenty of towels and tea towels. Milk, rolls, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and home made marmalade. Overall we were made to feel very welcome. Excellent well kept outside space for our dogs to chase around in. We have stayed in many cottages and these considerate owners unlike some places haven’t skimped on providing their guests with a quality experience. Thank you our stay was restful and relaxing we would definitely recommend and return.

On arrival to Orchard Cottage we were greeted by Rosemary who welcomed us and showed us to the property.

The interior was lovely and clean. There was a little welcome gift of milk, bread rolls and some shortbread biscuits which were so thoughtful and appreciated. All cleaning products were stocked, which was great, as other properties we have stayed in didn't provide a lot of things. We didn't have a four legged friend with us but can see why it is perfect if you do. The grounds are ample enough for any dog to exercise and we saw plenty of people walking their dogs in the local area. As others have stated the beds are very comfortable. The only improvement we can suggest is that the instructions for the heating are made available to the guests. I know we asked once for the temperature to be turned down (and it was) but it was still too warm. There are plenty of pubs in the vicinity to try if you don’t want to cook yourselves, however, one word of warning if you head to The Bubble Inn – our experience was awful (and if we had checked other reviews rather than be taken in by the look of it on the exterior we wouldn’t have gone). We had to wait well over an hour for food which only appeared when we asked where it was. The food was actually tasty but not overly warm.

Excellent property.

Fantastic owners. Really caring and thoughtful. Could not do better. Thank you.

Property is very well equipped, spotlessly clean and we were made to feel welcome by the owners.

We would certainly recommend this holiday home to anyone..

Great holiday cottage with super hosts.

The owners' Rosemary and David were lovely they came to say hello and asked if we needed anything.

They left us milk bread rolls and some biscuits. The property is south facing so we had the sun all day. The garden was very spacious enough for our two little dogs to play. The bed was enormous and so comfortable we didn't want to get out of it every morning. Plenty of pots pans plates etc. There is Asda, Sainsbury's Aldi, and Tesco all about a 15-minute drive away. They all deliver except Aldi. We didn't drive anywhere as when you walk out of the property down the lane you are met by the canal where left is to The Bubble Inn which is dog friendly and serves greek and English food. If you turn right along the canal you hit Nadee an Indian restaurant with a large outside seating area that is also dog friendly. We loved the property so much we have already booked to go for 2 weeks next year.

What a fabulous cottage lovely friendly owners everything you could wish for well equipped lovely clean and fantastic garden and dog friendly would high recommend this property thanks Paul Joan
