  • "The easiest review I’ve done."

The cottage lived up to all our expectations. The hosts were on hand if anything was needed and were very helpful. We made a comment that the cottage would benefit by having a microwave and some egg cups ( in our opinion ! ) We were duly presented with the egg cups and they had bought a microwave too. First class service. We would, and already have, recommended Canalside Cottage to friends. I’ve no doubt at all that this will continue to be a great success. Jo Fran & Sue ( & Sweep )

A lovely setting right on the tow path. We enjoyed watching the comings and goings on the canal and walks from the door. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

  • "First class venue."

Hosteses were more than helpful. Lovely friendly people. Canalside cottage was immaculate. Top of the rocks facilities. Plenty to do locally and in the surrounding areas. If we manage to get back to that area in the future it will be the first place we will try to book. Hopefully future clients will respect the property and the effort the owners have put into the place . Many thanks for making our short stay so enjoyable. Best Lodge we have rented in many years.

  • "Recently returned from our break at The Canalside Cottage."

We were welcomed by the host on arrival and it was nice to know that they were nearby if any problems arose. Canalside cottage was exquisite and you could feel the love, care and attention that the owners have put into the property on entry. The small little touches made all the difference from chocolates on the bed, wine, crisps and even milk in the fridge. There were treats for the dog, and even bowls for the dog to use for food and water. The kitchen had every utensil, crockery, pots, and condiments etc needed and appliances were of high specifications it was like home from home. The beds were so comfortable it was hard for us to wake up in the morning and get going. Wi-fi was included and the connection was very good. The instruction manual for the electrical items was very detailed. It was also lovely to read the history behind the renovation of the cottage and information about what to do and where to eat in the surrounding areas which was very informative. Watching the narrow boats go past and people walking their dogs along the canalside was lovely and kept us all entertained… we even got the occasional wave from some of the boat owners when they passed. You will be given a key to open the gate which leads straight onto the canal. We would highly recommend this property to couples, families or friends.
