Alder Cottage - Fold Yards

Lovely cottage in a great location for walking.

Very clean, comfortable and very nicely furnished - it has everything you need. The welcome pack was appreciated. Would definitely like to return and would recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Alder Cottage, the property matched the listing, was clean, comfortable and a really nice location.

It served as a good base for the week to explore the Peak district, I would definitely recommend.

Fab cottage in lovely area Had a great stay at Folds Cottage -perfect for two-spacious, well presented & equipped.

The deep bath was most welcome for achey limbs after walking! Easy to find & ample off road parking. Sally, our friendly host, was on hand & happy to help with any queries. Our only suggestion for improvement would be for provision of a fan although appreciate the weather was exceptionally hot during our visit. Loved exploring a part of Derbyshire which was new to us -enjoyed Farmers Market in Wirksworth, Cromford Mills & walks around Alderwasley, Crich & Middleton Top.

Fabulous cottage, lovely little touches like a bunch of sweet peas on the table.

Would recommend it to everyone and would like to return.

For us, this was ideal.

In the middle of nowhere & on a working farm, but ideally situated for trips to various attractions/places in all directions. Plenty of walking/cycling options from the property too. Stunning views from the property also. Property owners were very friendly & up for a passing chat. Car parking was not a problem. The property was one of a number of converted farm buildings, so you do have ‘neighbours’.

The cottage was lovely!

Very peaceful and well located, both in the farmyard with the cows (which we loved!) and for nearby attractions. It was peaceful inside, very nicely decorated and put together and we didn't hear anything from the cottage next door, even though there was a large group staying there. The bathroom was luxurious, the bed comfy and the wood burner very warm, I hope we get to stay there again!

Flawless.

Just the spot for relaxation. Very comfortable and loved the open plan layout. Loads of wood provided for the log burner, a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk etc. Now then, some soundproofing is required between Alder and it's neighbour, you really can hear everything from next door. The broadband is also unreliable, I understand this is probably a temporary fault but couldn't watch tv without tethering mobile signal. Well equipped and helpful hosts.

Absolutely amazing!

Such a beautiful home, and really appreciate the little extras such as a cot and a highchair for our daughter. We will be back next year - thanks so much Dave & Sally! Should be very proud of the cottages you have created - they are 10/10 and I've already recommended to lots of people. See you again soon!

We had a wonderful stay at Alder Cottage.

The property was exceptionally clean, warm, and comfortable, providing a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. The hosts had clearly put great thought into every detail, ensuring guests have everything they might need. Essentials such as milk, tea, coffee, sugar, towels, and cleaning supplies were all provided, along with convenient amenities including a washing machine, television, microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, oven, and induction hob. The only minor improvement we would suggest would be the addition of some privacy screening in the courtyard area to enhance the sense of seclusion. Folds yard is a excellent place to stay and we would happily return

Alder Cottage was warm and inviting as soon as stepping through the door.

We were very impressed with the layout and rooms, lovely large hallway with space to hang coats. Living area and kitchen beautifully appointed, every item available in the drawers and cupboards. Lovely comfortable bed and the underfloor heating gave an all round equal warmth to every room. A welcome pack was much appreciated with milk in the fridge.. All round a wonderful week's stay and will be returning.

Peace and tranquillity on a farm in the English countryside.

Alder cottage had everything we wanted for a great holiday. Exploring the Peak District from there was easy. Great hospitality and a lovely welcome basket.

Fold Yards is a beautiful old building that has been converted in an excellent way to holiday lets.

A great location for visiting the Southern Peak District as well as some nice walks straight from the cottage. The interior design was superb, combining style and comfort. It was very well equipped with everything we needed, including a welcome Welcome Pack!

Perfect for a couple who likes to have quiet weekend away every so often. Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful cosy stay!

The cottage is beautiful & snuggling up in front of the log fire on a cold evening was perfect! The bed was super comfy & the bath was super & we had the best time!

Spacious, clean, war and cosy.

The owners were so generous leaving us enough logs for the log burner for the week we were there, also every other thing we could want. Top quality cookware, and everything furnished to a high standard. A previous guest had noted the noise from next door, in our case the other property was occupied for about 3 days by a family with a small (unfortunately unhappy) child. We could hear crying when in the living area but as the bedrooms are on either end of the property there were no issues with hearing anything at night.

This property is gorgeous and such a great place for a romantic weekend away.

The views from our window were amazing especially on an autumnal morning. Such a cosy little place, we can’t fault it!

Cleanliness was immaculate, such lovely cosy vibes with everything you could possibly need for a stay!

We loved everything, such a special place to celebrate together. Such a short distance away from Matlock and Matlock bath too for a quick days out! 10/10

This is a five star apartment with nice design touches, ideally located for Bakewell, Chatsworth and Matlock.

Coop in local village for shopping needs. Owner on site and very helpful, as it’s a working farm nice to get close up to the Bulls. Plenty of space within the apartment, with outside seating, very comfortable bed and on site parking.

It was a lovely property but why on earth the door between ourselves and the next rooms was left in is beyond me.

We could see the lights and hear noise through the door which was not very good. Apart from that it was an excellent stay.
