Holly Cottage - Fold Yards

Very peaceful area.

Owners were very good with communication and met us on arrival and when we went to leave checked all was ok with our stay. I can see why some people may struggle with the sofa as it is quite low but we found it ok. The shower was not overly powerful but it done the job just a shame water went everywhere on the floor as no door on the cubicle. Other than that it was a great find for our week away

Amazing little cottage, super clean and lovely interior.

Parking was easy and accessible and we had a great sleep every night! Had everything we needed - we especially loved seeing the cows right outside our doorstep :)

It was a lovely place nice and quiet every thing we needed and lots to do would definitely go again

Excellent accomodation with the farm for neighbours.

Historic buildings combined with modern facilities. Comfort would have been a ten but for the settee which was too low and deep both for sitting in and rising from. My wife was unable to use it and the one remaining hard chair was not a comfortable alternative My comments are intended to be constructive and I believe attention to this would give you a ten all round !!

Really loved this property.

A well designed conversion of the model farm building. High presentation standards and attention to detail in terms of decoration, fixtures and fittings, furniture and cleanliness. Great location set in beautiful countryside surroundings. Host was friendly but not intrusive making us feel that we could contact them at any point should we need to…we didn’t need to. We only live 30 minutes away but just wanted a change of scenery and time to relax without feeling that we have to be sightseeing everyday and this cottage provided that. We would definitely consider returning for a few days when we need to unwind again.

The lounge furniture was not comfortable with no head support.

There was not sufficient cooking utensils and there was no provision for waste separation and recycling.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful home, the furnishings were lovely and the log burner was great, I would highly recommend a stay!

Holly Cottage in Beautiful Surroundings We had the most wonderful stay at Holly Cottage.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. Spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful and loved the touch of the welcome pack. You are not too far from visiting Chatsworth House, Carsington Water to name but a few. Cannot wait to return.

My stay at Holly Cottage was a delight!

The cottage is presented beautifully; a clever mix between modern and cosy. It has been finished to an excellent standard and has everything you'd need for a wonderful stay. The location was perfect for accessing great places in the Peaks with Chatsworth a real highlight. The cottage was very well equipped and made for a very relaxing stay. The one small point was just the water pressure in the shower and the warm temperature in shower and bath closer to 'warm' than 'hot'...but neither detracted from my stay. I will certainly be back!

This property is set in a beautiful location and is well-designed and furnished with thoughtful details.

However, it has a downside: the option to link to another cottage. This meant that we were often disturbed by noise from the other cottage, making it difficult to relax and read a book. It was such a shame, if we were to come back would definitely book a cottage that wasn’t able to link to another one.

Immaculate cottage in very peaceful location.

Several very good pubs nearby but none within reasonable walking distance unfortunately! It made a very pleasant change for all the furniture and fittings to be almost brand new as opposed to finding well worn seats etc hidden under under blankets and sheets!! Would like to stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Holly cottage.

As the interior was so much to our taste I would say it’s possibly the best place we’ve stayed in. It is in a lovely setting with field views yet convenient for many places to visit being situated just off the A6. For us, having a log burning stove to light on the cooler evenings was pure bliss. Hope to return soon.

The colour scheme, and kitchen appliances excellent. good location to explore the Peak District. We ate out at The Bear Inn, and Bulls Head , would recommend both. We visited Bakewell, Crich Tramway, cycled The Monsal Trail, visited Carsington water. Thank you for letting us stay at Holly Cottage.

Perfect place for a relaxing getaway.

Spotlessly clean, has everything you need and an amazing location for a walk or wander round the farm. Welcoming owners and comprehensive instructions. We had a lovely time.

The cottage is a former farm property that has been stylishly and thoughtfully converted making a warm and comfortable home from home.

We enjoyed the peaceful setting and had a relaxing short stay over Easter. I expect that we will return.

I loved the standard of finish throughout and the home comforts provided.

I especially liked the underfloor heating that was easily controlled, and the free-standing bath. The kitchen was well equipped and contained everything I need for my stay including dish washing liquid, scrubber, tea towel, and dishwasher tablets. I appreciated the welcome pack containing milk, tea, coffee and shortbread. David and Sally were really receptive to my needs and quickly dealt with a routine maintenance issue that arose during my stay. There were beautiful walks from the door and a rail station a walkable distance away. Be sure to double check the location before arriving on a map, as it can be a bit tricky to find if you arrive after dark. Holly cottage is in a complex of outbuildings converted into cottages. Bear in mind that you may hear other occupants if you have a cottage adjoining another. And I'd recommend bringing ear plugs if you time your visit with when the on-sight delightful cows are feeling the need to call to mates! All in all a perfect stay.

Site is middle of nowhere, which was perfect. Very quiet too! Decor was relaxing and modern. Great amenities, especially the bath, dishwasher and washing machine! Fantastic! Easily the cleanest cottage I've stayed in. Truly spotless! Thank you for a lovely break!

We had a lovely stay at Fold Yards.

The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed. We were close to lots of places to visit, we went to the Christmas Fayre at Haddon Hall and also visited Bakewell and Matlock. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back in the future.

We have been to Holly Cottage twice this year and may well go back again next year.

It is very nicely furnished, comfortable, with plenty of parking and within easy reach of many beauty spots and good walks. David and Sally are very friendly and helpful.

The cottage has been beautifully decorated and is so comfortable.

It has everything you need. If I was being really picky…a screen on the shower to avoid water splashing on the floor and wall which will in time, spoil the tongue & groove. But really, the cottage is perfect. We’d like to come back.

It was very clean and had all you needed for a comfortable stay. The owner came round to check everything was ok. The appliances are of good quality and it seemed no expense was spared when furnishing the cottage.
