Glebe Barn is the perfect venue !

Stunning, peaceful location whilst being only a 5 minute drive to the beautiful town of Ludlow ! The barn is very spacious whilst keeping a homely feel. Lovely sized bedrooms, kitchen and lounge. Kitchen has everything you need, we cooked a roast and we're spoilt for choice with utensils and pots and pans ! Ian and Juliet were the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. Only downside was that we only booked for the weekend, didnt want to leave ! However we will definitely be back

We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years, and I can honestly say that Glebe Barn is at the top of our list.

It is beautiful! Ian came across to meet us shortly after we arrived, to check that everything was OK, and to see if we had any questions. Everything was perfect! The barn is extremely spacious, had everything required for a wonderful holiday, and is in a great location for visiting Ludlow, Hereford, Shrewsbury and many smaller local towns. We hope to return next year.

The location was beautifully rural, large fields in front were used by the children for cricket and football.

The kitchen was lovely and spacious with a large wooden table that we spent our time on besides eating doing family games and other activities! Because of being a converted barn the heating of each room was good. In the sitting room though it would be nice to have some throws for that extra warmth without need for fire.

Our party of four had a great week staying at Glebe Barn.

We were welcomed by our host Ian who was very friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Glebe Barn is perfectly positioned in the countryside with easy access to Ludlow, travel time by car into Ludlow approx 10 minutes. Ludlow town :- Castle, Church, market square with daily quality markets, and plenty of eateries. Bills Kitchen is well worth a visit.

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful and tranquil setting

We regularly rent holiday cottages several times a year, and we rate this cottage at the very top of our experiences.

The barn is a high quality conversion in immaculate condition. It was very spacious, peaceful and extremely well equipped. Our hosts (Ian & Julia) could not be more friendly & helpful. We will certainly be rebooking next year. Our thanks to Ian & Julia.

We had an excellent stay at Glebe Barn and it was all exactly as we had hoped for.

The place is spacious, light and airy and very comfortable. The kitchen is big and well equipped, the beds are comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. I particularly enjoyed the power shower and the log burner. We definitely recommend this place and hope to go back one day to see the countryside during a different season.

The “Golden girls” LOVED Glebe Barn.

We said “WOW” on entering this superbly designed and furnished home from home. The heating was on for our arrival on a cold January day; the kitchen was fully equipped with some very generous goodies to enjoy. The beds were comfortable and everything was spotless. John, the owner, was not just a lovely man but also supportive host, concerned for our comfort and wellbeing. This barn is a gem. We visited the charming town of Ludlow and the nearby farm shop, as well as thoroughly enjoying a splendid day at the Ironbridge World Heritage Site - amazing! My friends were so impressed with Shropshire.

The cottage was perfect for us; 4 friends having a get together.

It was warm, comfortable and very well equipped. The location was great. Very easy to get into Ludlow using the park and ride which was just a few miles away and cost £1 each return! We would recommend this cottage.

We were there from 12 - 16 August 2024 and it was a fantastic experience.

The hosts were great and very accommodating. We had a baby in the group and they made sure everything was set up. Both made us feel really welcome. The place was nice and clean and had everything we needed. We have already informed the hosts that we'll be returning soon.

Excellent property, spacious and in a wonderful part of the country!

This is a beautiful property, and my only hesitation with leaving an excellent review is it will encourage more people to stay there.

This could mean that we might be unable to rebook in the future! It’s a truly stunning property, well-maintained, and very comfortable. Our family of five had plenty of room, The kitchen and family room areas were beautiful, and the board games left for the kids were really appreciated. The hosts also left milk, coffee, and tea for us, and that was very much appreciated, particularly when travelling with children.

I booked Grange Barn for a group of 7 friends for a relaxed girls weekend.

From the moment we arrived everything was simply perfect, it was absolutely stunning. The quality of everything provided was fabulous and every little thing had been thought about. It was beautifully decorated with a stylish and calm decor that took full advantage of the stunning countryside views. We will definitely return and be highly recommending it to friends.

Lovely property in a pretty setting.

The barn is really spacious and comfortable, equipped with everything you need. Ample parking which was essential for us as we had three cars! Owners were lovely.

We had a very nice week with friends unfortunately the weather wasn’t kind but we loved the barn and the area.

We did lots of walking and had a lovely visit to Ludlow castle followed by an excellent lunch in the castle restaurant. He barn is well equipped and we’ve had a lovely time there.

It is in an excellent location for visiting Ludlow and other parts of beautiful Shropshire. We had beautiful weather, which further enhanced Glebe Barn and its spacious accommodation and were able to make full use of the provided bbq. Highly recommend the nearby Ludlow Farmshop for stocking up on food and drink supplies. Really enjoyed Mortimers restaurant in Ludlow.

Glebe Barn is a very spacious, well equipped, warm, comfortable cottage in a lovely part of Shropshire, just outside Ludlow.

It's an ideal cottage for a large family wishing to stay in the area and explore the delights of the Shropshire hills, local National Trust sites and Ludlow town. The owners were very welcoming and friendly but not at all intrusive. We had a great time there and would highly recommend it ... it's an excellent place to stay

Glebe Barn is a superb property in a delightful location.

The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, equipped with fixtures and fittings of the highest quality. Despite fairly bad weather which meant a lot of time spent indoors the seven of us were very comfortable and enjoyed the peace and tranquillity. We couldn’t have found a better place to spend our week in South Shropshire.

We stayed here in January and the cottage was warm and very well equipped.

The bedrooms have very comfortable beds and the configuration meant that three couples can stay as well as a large family group. Wi-Fi was good. Both phone and television reception were good - a bonus in a rural area. There are good walks in the immediate area and a large map of the local area is displayed at the cottage. The friendly owners came over and checked all was well and even scrapped the frost off the windscreen of our car one morning. Ludlow is within a ten minute drive offering plenty of eating places, interesting shops, a castle and supermarkets. There are good local pubs at Knowbury and Tenbury Wells. We will happily return to this cottage.

Cozy log fire in the massive living room. Plenty of room for a large family. Fully stocked kitchen, you won't need to bring any cooking supplies. Beds are very comfortable and towels available. Lots of information available for things to do in the area. We really enjoyed our stay. Nothing negative to say at all.

The barn is large and spacious and is perfect for our multi generational holiday. We love the location that is quiet and peaceful but with lots in the local area to explore. Ian and Juliet are excellent hosts and are very helpful when required. We will be back!

Incredibly spacious and well appointed. Lovely and quiet spot with great access to Ludlow and Tenbury. Hosts were very nice too.

The property and location are fantastic.

The issue we had was we did not consider the quality of furnishings (beds in particular) were appropriate for the quality of property. Beds are old and uncomfortable. Also bedding and linen was significantly below the quality expected being very outdated and well used. We also felt that the Barn lacked any real attempt to make it a home from home with miles of empty shelves, no umbrella or cushions for the outdoor patio. No BBQ for use, a welcome pack that failed to welcome, rationed toilet rolls and just two dishwasher tablets made it feel it was being operated on the cheap, despite listing as a luxury property, which it so easily could be. Cleanliness was an issue throughout where there is no attention to detail. Cobwebs everywhere, cuttlerty tray dirty, rusty bathroom caddy etc. It was very disappointing as we had such high hopes.

Our stay was a family one for a special birthday surprise for my daughter and Ian couldn’t have been more accommodating to our needs and requests. It’s a beautiful homely barn with tranquil surroundings and would recommend for a week end get away with family or friends. I have stayed there before and will return again

Had a fantastic stay at Glebe Barn!

We have 3 children and found the property to be very child friendly. Beautifully decorated, clean & spacious. Enclosed garden area which our children enjoyed playing in and a log burner to warm up in front of in the evenings! Sure we will return in the near future.

Glebe Barn was perfect for our family celebration as my wife and I joined our grown up children for a special birthday.

The spacious kitchen and lounge gave plenty of room for six adults and could easily have accommodated children too. We arrived on a foggy January night to a very warm welcome from Ian and a cosy house. We enjoyed time in Ludlow wandering amongst the market and old buildings as well as the castle. Brisk walks in nearby Mortimer forest and cosy evenings with the log burner meant that the weekend came to an end all too quickly but we would certainly like to return.

This was our second stay at Glebe Barn and similar to the first visit, we thoroughly enjoyed our break in a beautiful setting.

The owner was very welcoming and friendly, we hope to return again when we can!

My husband and I were unable to go to this cottage as we had to quarantine after returning from Tenerife.

Fortunately my daughter and family were still able to go. They thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The heating had broken down but the owner, Ian, had been out and bought electric fires to keep them comfortable. The kitchen is huge and well equipped and the beds were very comfortable.

The house and location were perfect for us as a base to explore Shropshire.

We had never been to Ludlow before and we are now rather smitten with the area. We will be back and hopefully at Glebe barn again. The house was very clean and very warm. Ian (the owner) was a lovely man and made us feel exceptionally welcome. I could not rate accommodation highly enough.

Lovely property, well appointed and ideally located with country walks straight from the door, yet only a short drive to Ludlow.

Plenty of space to relax with family, which was our main aim as it was our first get together since lockdown ended. Excellent communication from Sykes throughout the booking process, and although Ian the owner wasn't around during our visit he was very welcoming on the phone & made sure we had his contact details if needed.

We spent a week here in July probably one of the hottest weeks for years!

The cottage was lovely, spacious, clean and well equipped. It’s in a quiet village only a few minutes drive away from the nice town of Ludlow which has good supermarkets etc. You’re well placed for days out as well as you have access to main roads quite easily. The owners live just next door and were friendly and helpful, not that we had any issues though. Recommended if you’re looking to holiday in this area.

We have stayed in over 30 cottages over the last 10 years across 13 countries and this is by far the best.

.... and this was a repeat or our second visit. Very spacious, light and airy with great beds and showers which, in other cottages, are often sub par instant electric units over baths. These showers are dedicated units with nice pressure. It is a barn conversion with all the beams you could hope for!

A great space for a weekend break and easily accessible to Ludlow. We also did a walk recommended in the house folder and the surrounding countryside is beautiful.

The host Ian was very welcoming. For extra luxury a bit more crockery/cutlery would be welcome in order to cut down on needing to use the dishwasher after every meal rather than just once a day, but this is a small thing and in no way detracted from our lovely break. This property is brilliant in that the reception rooms are very large making it great for a group. Would definitely recommend it and hope to stay again sometime.

Despite the very heavy rainfall as experienced by most of the UK during our week's holiday (7th-14th June 2019) , thankfully, Glebe Barn offered a very welcome retreat, being warm, very clean, spacious, extremely well equipped, full of character yet with a contemporary finish.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. A bedroom TV would have been appreciated, however, the new lounge TV is a good plus point. The property's situation made it very easy to get to Ludlow ( a gem of a town), Blists Hill museum, Powys Castle & gardens, Hampton Court gardens, Hergest Croft gardens, the S.V.R and Burford House & gardens, the latter being exceptionally good value. Clearly, the bad weather did create problems, yet this area offers so much and we did manage to get out every day. Ludlow is a charming town ,full of small independent shops, many of which offered very unusual products. The town has lots of period properties, with Victorian style lighting and is very clean and well maintained.

Peace and quiet if you wish, but near so many beautiful places to visit. We also had fantastic weather, which was lucky.

We had a wonderful stay at Gelbe Barn.

This is the second time we have visited and it worked perfectly for getting my family all together. The barn is beautiful and has lots of space. The location is good and there are lots of places to visit nearby. My only slight comment is that the cot they provided wasnt very good but we had brought our own anyway so it was no problem.Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Only thing I would ask to be addressed is to increase the amount of cutlery/crockery etc. to facilitate larger family groups. Owner [Ian] was very helpful indeed.

It was our Golden Wedding Anniversary, we were married in a local church 50 years ago, so we decided to celebrate the weekend in Shropshire with our family.

This cottage was ideal for needs, and it met our expectations. We had a lovely meal at Bistro7 in Corve St Ludlow, if you decide to use taxis to get there and back suggest you book WELL in advance.

Glebe Barn is a stunning property, inside and out.

So much space and a perfect base for exploring Shropshire. We were warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble for Ian. The use of the trampoline was a mega bonus for our little chap, his day wasn't complete unless he'd had a bonce! Thank you for making our stay such a happy one. We will be back!

A lovely property in a beautiful location only 3 miles from Ludlow.

The weather over our Easter break was terrible but we had a great holiday with friends and really enjoyed cosy evenings with the wood burner. Ian and Juliet could not have been more helpful or attentive when we had a small problem and we would not hesitate to recommend this property. We hope to return for a family holiday in the future when the sun is shining!

Glebe Barn was beautiful and in a superb location.

Much more spacious inside than we were expecting and with a warm welcome from the friendly and likeable owners. Cleanliness was first class throughout, and the kitchen large and well-equipped enough to easily cope with us catering for ourselves over the Christmas period. Perhaps consideration could be given to upgrading the TV in the lounge as with several in our party used to 4k TV's and old pre-HD CRT TV is rather behind the times. Given that the property can accommodate up to 7 people a larger refrigerator in the kitchen, or a second one in the utility room, would be useful as our party of 6 struggled for space in the under-counter unit that's there currently. We all also struggled to sit comfortably for any length of time on the sofas in the lounge so maybe these needing replacing too. These really are minor points though and I'd certainly recommend this property to anyone looking for a stay in Shropshire.

5 girls (well nearly all in our 50's but still girls at heart) decided to book a weekend away for some girlie time with no children / partners to worry about. we all had a wonderful stay, the barn was so lovely we all decided we could easily live there. Kitchen was to the highest standards as were the bedrooms, bathrooms, en suite & lounge. Lovely views from the barn and so peaceful and tranquil we didn't want to go home. Had a few visits into Ludlow and a walk on the Sunday morning. Can't praise the location & accommodation enough. Definitely worth a visit.
