The Old Cider Mill is one of the best cottages we have stayed in.

The kitchen was very well equipped, with an American type fridge freezer, and all the cooking equipment we needed, and exceptionally nice crockery and glassware. The furniture was very nice throughout the cottage, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The cottage was set in a beautiful garden surrounded by fields. We thoroughly enjoyed being visited by many birds including Red Kites, Partridge, Pheasant and WoodPeckers.

A lovely quiet property well presented and immaculately clean with every appliance needed for a comfortable stay.

We had a lovely 5-night stay at The Old Cider Mill in Caynham (26th–31st October).

It’s a beautiful, warm and spacious barn conversion, perfect for our family of four. The place was spotlessly clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the beds were comfy. The ensuites off of each room were modern and spotless too! Caynham is a quiet village with gorgeous countryside — ideal for a peaceful break. The hosts were really welcoming and helpful, responding quickly whenever we needed anything. We’d definitely recommend The Old Cider Mill and would love to stay again!

The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was ideal for walks - Caynham Camp, Titterstone Clee Hill, Stokesay Castle, Croft Castle and Ludlow, with the Mortimer Forest. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

This was a lovely cottage in a very nice location.

There is space to park two cars, although we only had one. We arrived a little early but the property was ready so the owners kindly allowed us to check in. It is very spacious so was very comfortable for four people. The bedrooms were roomy and the beds very comfortable. The two en suite bathrooms were great, but a few spiders were in the corners, where the mop hadn't reached. There's no toiletries except hand soap and one toilet roll. The kitchen was well equipped, but the knives could have been sharper and a big pan would have been useful. The dishwasher didn't clean properly, I noticed there was no rinse aid or salt, so I filled it up. There were dishwasher tabs and cleaning stuff which was great. Would have been handy to have some teabags and sugar. There was a downstairs toilet with a washing machine in it. The TV in the living room was quite small considering the size of the room. Wifi was a bit unreliable but OK. We liked the location as we could go walking from the cottage. A welcome pack with maybe a cake would have been nice.

It was in a lovely location, really easy to find and made a good base for getting around. The facilities were very good and spoilt with an en suite bathroom. We plan to return.

The Old Cider Mill cottage is in a beautiful, quiet location yet near to lots of things to do - Ludlow, National Trust properties etc.

The cottage is spacious and very well appointed with everything you could possibly need. There are beautiful views from all windows. The beds and sofas are lovely and comfortable. The friendly owner met us as we left to make sure we were happy and had had a good stay. I would highly recommend it.

The main oven wasn’t working, we informed the owner who was going to get it sorted out. Great location for exploring the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Ludlow is lovely, and a walk on The Long Mynd is a must. Nothing to do with the cottage, but we did notice that footpaths in the area are very poorly maintained, forcing us to walk on the busy road and paths were impassable.

The Old cider mill is situated in a quiet location with views of the surrounding fields, anybody would struggle to find fault with this lovely cottage and it’s facilities and equipment, if I was pushed to make a recommendation comment, the only thing that I could say is that the mattress on the double bed is on the soft side whereas my mattress at home is quite firm but it did not stop me and my girlfriend from getting a good night sleep We both thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend break at the cottage and certainly would recommend it to friends of ours

If you like National Trust properties, there are 2 outstanding ones a short drive away, and Ludow and its castle well worth a visit. Bring a map and you'll see there there are walks nearby.

The Old Cider Mill is an absolute gem and feels like home from home.

It is very spacious, comfortable and has everything you need for your stay including a very large freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. It is so peaceful too which means you sleep well as you don’t hear lots of traffic. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay at the old cider Mill, it has been renovated to a very high standard, lovely beams, quality fittings etc.

It was well equipped for our stay. The views both front and back are excellent, and the weather was good enough to take advantage of the seating areas. It is in a lovely village, positioned next to the owners house. Ideally placed to visit the surrounding towns, national trust houses and English heritage. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, the bottles of cider were a very nice touch. The homemade jams, chutneys and pickles paid for with a honesty box were delicious, irresistible and excellent value. All in all we had a great stay and would fully recommend.

The Old Cider Mill has been refurbished to a high standard the sofas are very comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and the en-suite shower in the main bedroom is good, albeit the doorway into it is a little low.

The house is very remote, there are no footpaths outside it, and Caynham village has no amenities at all, nor is there a bus service, so you need a car, and there is room to park it off road. The wi-fi is hopeless, ranging between slow and non existent. The house is also very dark inside, and very warm too. The table and chairs out the back are lovely, as is the view, but the BBQ has seen better days, and there are too many unwelcome visits from the owners dogs, which was massively disappointing. When outside enjoying the view the ambience is spoilt by the road that runs through the village, which is surprisingly busy, and a little too noisy. In summary, this is a decent place to stay in terms of cleanliness and comfort, but not a memorable one.

A lovely cottage, characterful but with modern convenience, in a good location close to Ludlow.

A quiet rural setting easily accessed through pleasant country lanes. Lovely gardens and colourful planters. Easy access to Ludlow by road or Caynham Park & Ride ((half-hourly). Lots of things to do locally, including castles and foodie destinations (Ludlow provides both) . Steam train enthusiasts will enjoy both the Welshpool/Llanfair light railway and the Severn Valley Railway from Bewdley or Kidderminster. Highly recommended and we hope to make a return visit.

This was a fabulous cottage.

For me the bed was a little soft but that's just a personal preference. The cottage has everything you need for your stay. It's in a beautiful setting and great for visiting places. The hosts were very pleasant and welcoming and we would definitely stay there again next time we visit Shropshire.

The Old Cider Mill is a superb cottage in a very convenient location for Ludlow and the nearby sights.

We found it in a pristine state of decoration and cleanliness and it was very well equipped. Despite the freezing temperatures outside it was very cosy and warm inside. An excellent and spacious place to stay.

Fabulous property, super clean and had great facilities.

Property had everything you could need, fully stocked with loads of crockery, cutlery, pans and utensils. Washing machine and dishwasher very efficient and property was so warm that our walking clothes dried overnight. Great location to visit local attractions. The owner came to introduce herself and was very friendly. We loved our stay and would definitely return.

Only thing which would help is a sign at the bottom drive to let you know its The Old Cider Milll, as we struggled to find it in the dark and the local taxi driver struggled in the day light to find us.

We have used holiday cottages every year for 22 years, The Old Cider Mill is in our top three, a beautiful well equipped cottage in a lovely location.

Extremely convenient for Ludlow park and ride, much easier than trying to park in the very busy town, the Saturday market is worth a visit. Within easy drive to Shropshires attractions and beauty spots.

Friendly owners, and cows, well appointed accommodation, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A lovely cottage that was clean and relatively comfortable (the beds were a bit soft for us and we found the settees a bit uncomfortable - but you can’t please everybody!

) We saw lots of wildlife around the cottage, which was great. The owners said hello and to get in touch if we needed anything (which we didn’t) then left us to it (which is how we like it). A great place to base ourselves to explore Shropshire and the surrounding counties, even venturing into Wales to Hay on Wye for books!

Peaceful outdoor spaces to enjoy and we loved watching the bats at night and listening to the owls hooting. We appreciated the bottles of cider that were left by the friendly owners.

We couldn’t fault anything the cottage was very clean. Loved the medieval town of Ludlow which the cottage was based just outside. Lots to do. One of the best cottages we have stayed at.

We had a lovely relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting.

The property was delightful and we especially loved to see the cows, hear the owls and watch the pheasants. The property is ideally located for visiting Ludlow and the surrounding area -- wish we could have stayed longer.

Wow this was our first time using Sykes and we are really impressed with the service but more so with the standard of accommodation offered My wife.

Mother in law and I chose to have a Christmas away this year and after this experience we will do it again the old cider mill is a home from home it was clean well presented and comfortable and we found it so easy to relax we enjoyed long sleeps on the lovely mattresses food as and when we wanted it due to the self catering aspect of our stay the owners were just next door and we’re lovely they left us too it but where there should we need them all in all we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend the old cider mill to all We would like to thank the owners for allowing us to enjoy their property Mark Andrea and Dolores

Beautiful spacious cottage, clean and tidy.

Some local cider was lets as a welcome gift. The only thing that let's it down is that there were no basic supplies like tea coffee milk etc provided. Would stay again 100%

Very clean and comfortable. There were 2 outside sitting areas with table and chairs. The owners who live next door were friendly and helpful. The position of the cottage was quiet, but very handy for Ludlow and Hereford, as well as National Trust and English Heritage properties.

This cottage is in an ideal location to explore several National Trust properties nearby and has lovely countryside views.

Even though the owners are next door and happy to help if needed, you have total privacy. We stayed at the beginning of March and the cottage kept lovely and warm and cosy, despite the frosty mornings! We would definitely recommend.

Internally it had the appearance of brand New. Very Clean, spotless furnishings, very well stocked with appliances, cooking utensils and crockery, all in tip top condition. Very comfortable and cosy.

The Old Cider Mill is an amazing building which has been restored to the highest level and so well equipped with everything that you could possibly need for a comfortable stay.

The surrounding area is beautiful and has lots of places to visit including Ironbridge and the International Centre for Birds of Prey at Newent.

Myself and my husband book this fabulous holiday cottage every year for our parents and Aunty.

They always have a wonderful time. This year was even more special as our mom is sadly suffering from cancer and it was just the perfect break she needed. They were also very blessed with the amazing weather we had back in February. Thank you.

Everything to a really high standard, well equipped and fabulously quiet location within easy driving distance of Ludlow.

Did not find the double bed as comfortable as our own but really appreciated the wonderful fire in the living area and overall warmth and ambiance of The Cider Barn.

The Cottage was perfect for our requirements over the Christmas period.

The owners had very thoughtfully put up a Christmas tree and left us a bottle of Prosecco & mince pies - very welcoming when we arrived. This cottage is set in a lovely location with very dark skies for those who like stargazing.

It is a very spacious cottage with a very well equipped kitchen where the owners have thought of everything that you need. The 2 bedrooms upstairs are a good size. The only fault we could find is that we felt that the quilt needed to be larger for the double bed as it kept ending up with one of us having no cover at various times during the night.

Our biggest problem was with the cooking facilities It was a high class cooker I think and we worked out how to work the oven but the halogen hob was really complicated and the owner although extremely helpful with every thing else could not help with this. We did eventually find some written instructions but still had difficulties and we are both used to cooking Other wise it was excellent

Owners have invested in quality fixtures, fittings and furniture.

The kitchen is particularly well equipped, especially as this is a very foodie part of the country. Cannot rate this property highly enough. Excellent find.

An idea, base for exploring south Shropshire.

The cider mill was a very lovely cottage and very nice owners and lots of space, the only thing i would have liked to have had was a pint of milk so we could have had a cup of tea before going to get our groceries also some new firmer mattresses would be a welcome.

The area was excellent for anyone interested in History or walking.

The holiday cottage was beautiful and spotlessly clean.

It was furnished to a very high standard and everything you would have at home was there; we could have happily moved in for good! It was located next to the owners house and they were welcoming and friendly and even offered to even take us into town one evening, so kind and thoughtful. Two bottles of cider on the table on arrival were very welcomed and a reminder that this had once been the cider press. The location was so peaceful, no noise just birdsong and the cows on the hill mooing. From here it was easy to get to the rest of Shropshire with Ludlow 4 miles away along with two main supermarkets and petrol station, lots of independent pubs and restaurants. We would definitely go back, perhaps in the autumn to do some more of the many beautiful walks, some from the cottage doorstep. We had glorious weather which was not ideal for big walks but perfect for enjoying the views from the cottage with a glass of wine in the evening, after a long day exploring all the many beautiful towns and sites.

The hosts were friendly and helpful and the area beautiful, full of black and white period houses. Ludlow, with its castle, many places to eat local food, and various markets was worth several visits, but the nearby towns and villages all had special places of interest. The scenery, especially over the Clee Hills, was panoramic and we would recommend this area to anyone.
