Description

Boasting a superb position overlooking the River Sett, in the charming village of Hayfield, is this charming stone-built cottage.

River Cottage Hayfield has been designed to bring together family and friends, or a group of walkers, on the North-Western edge of the Peak National Park, offering a vast array of walks and activities to suit all ages and tastes.

After a long walk over the green foothills, be welcomed into a spacious hallway, where you and your loved ones can kick off your muddy walking boots before relaxing into your evening with the seamless blend of traditional and contemporary interior.

Step into the kitchen/diner, where the exposed beams and stable door reflect the property's history, while the quality appliances, including the Range cooker, dishwasher, and washer/dryer, ensure you have everything you need to enjoy a relaxing break.

The charm of the property is continued into the sitting room, where the woodburning stove takes centre stage before the plush sofas and the Smart TV.

From here, throw open the patio doors to discover your private garden area, where you and your loved ones can dine alfresco whilst soaking up the views of the river and the charming village.

As the evening draws to a close, venture up the staircase to find four well-presented bedrooms to choose from, each designed to ensure a tranquil setting to retire to each evening.

On the first-floor you will find a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower and a twin bedroom (zip/link beds), whilst the second floor houses a king-size bedroom which is accessed through a twin bedroom.

Within the village of Hayfield, you will be spoilt for choice by the selection of pubs and cafes that await you, as well as a village shop for picking up any essentials.

From the doorstep of the cottage, you will find several walking and cycling routes to enjoy in the Peak National Park, with varied walks to suit all ages and tastes.

For those seeking a challenge, there is Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path, while the Sett Valley Trail offers a gentle stroll for families.

Alternatively, a short drive will bring you to the villages and towns of Buxton, Castleton and Bakewell, as well as the historic houses of Chatsworth and Lyme Park, to brush up on the local history.

River Cottage Hayfield is a superb base for bringing together a group to explore this picturesque location.

Our family had a great stay at River Cottage.

It was clean with plenty of room and in a perfect spot for a break in the Peak District.

This our third stay at River Cottage - we love the cottage and it feels like home from home.

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like it’s available next year

Would give 5 stars for accommodation.

Hidden gem of a place. Perfectly located, well presented, clean and very comfortable. We would definitely come back.
