    It was a very comfortable base for our break in the Peak District. Martyn the owner was very helpful, even phoned to tell us of a road closure that may have impacted on our journey. We had everything we needed for the few days we were there. Everything was very clean and of high quality. We would stay here again.

The property

A mid terrace stone cottage situated next to the popular village of Chapel-en-le-Frith.

This vibrant and contemporary property is tucked away at the edge of the village, and makes an ideal getaway for couples or families.

Step inside, and you will be welcomed by an inviting sitting room with comfortable sofas where you can relax in front of the TV.

There is also a DVD/CD player and input for personal audio devices all available through a five speaker surround sound system.

Sweeping across from this is a second sitting room with its own TV and DVD.

Ideal for quiet reading or for the children to enjoy their own viewing.

This room can be converted into a double bedroom utilising a comfortable sofa bed and has the benefit of an en suite wet room consisting of Shower, Basin and WC.

The well equipped kitchen offers plenty of space to prepare meals to serve at the dining table.

Downstairs, a cellar accessible from both inside and out, provides a convenient space to securely store bikes and boots after a day exploring the surrounding area.

This room also benefits from heating and a dehumidifier so is ideal for drying wet clothes.

On the first floor you will find a well-presented Master bedroom with a superking sized bed and an equally well appointed twin room, along with a large family bathroom.

Just a short walk away, Chapel-en-le-Frith offers a selection of real ale bars, cafe's and independent shops.

Just four miles further, lies the spa town of Buxton, with its Pavillion Gardens and splendid Victorian Opera House, attracting people from all over the world.

The popular cities of Manchester and Sheffield are easily accessible by train.

Chapel-en-le-Frith is known as the Capital of the Peaks, with its cobbled market place and historic old stocks. Just four miles away lies the spa town of Buxton, famous not only for its therapeutic spring water, but also for its Pavillion Gardens and splendid Victorian Opera House, and which boasts a variety of shows, attracting people from all over the world. A short drive away are an abundance of attractions including the Blue John Cavern and the castle at Castleton and many stately homes such as Chatsworth House and Lyme Hall. Chinley is a lovely little village nestled in a wonderful rural setting, on the western edge of the Peak District National Park. Popular with walkers, who are attracted by Chinley’s close proximity to Kinder Scout, visitors are well-catered for with the village’s selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants.
The delightful High Peak village of Hayfield is situated in a wonderful rural setting on the north western edge of the Peak National Park. It’s a peaceful little village, popular with walkers who are attracted by its close proximity to Kinder Scout. Serious walkers head east out of the village, up and over the green foothills to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path, whilst families (and those who enjoy more gentle rambles) head west along the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills. Edale – an alternative start of the Pennine Way - is only a few miles away
