It was our 2nd time staying at Orchard View.

It was absolutely spotless once again and maintained to such a high standard. We would love to stay again.

Lovely location.

Property well maintained, clean and comfortable. As the listing states access to the property is down a very narrow lane.

My three friends and l had a lovely stay at 1 Orchard View in March 2026.

The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed, and some nice extras from Richard and Alistair. All the rooms were nicely decorated and very comfortable. It's in a good location for accessing the village which is a short walk away. Thank you Richard and Alistair.

Couldn't wish for a better place to stay.

Perfect, quiet location in lovely Hathersage, within easy walking of local amenities (though we usually didn't make it any further than the Scotsman's Pack!). Incredible terraced garden with stunning views while drinking your coffee. All very well appointed and catered for and very clean, modern and comfortable. We had a minor problem with one of the ovens which was fixed the next morning. Couldn't recomment highly enough. Great location for lots of stunning Peak District walks and sights.

Cottage is even better than it looks in the pictures!

Beds are really comfy and cottage is very well equipped. Everything you need is thought of - this is obviously a well loved and cared for cottage. Parking and road is only for very small cars but parking on the bigger road was no problem. Location is perfect.

We had a great time at Orchard view, it was very clean and well equipped.

The showers were great and the beds comfortable. The area is fantastic with loads of walking and running routes and there is a lovely pub just minutes away. The neighbours were also lovely. Would definitely recommend

We absolutely loved this accommodation both in terms of its location close to the centre of town as well as its high standard of decor.

The log burner was brilliant and the huge log store most welcome. Parking was no issue for us and we easily fitted 2 cars on the drive. The owner was very responsive to an issue with the radiators. What would we improve? The comfort of the bed and a warmer duvet in the bedroom with the ensuite. Plus a later check out time and not expecting guests to strip beds.

The cottage was absolutely stunning!

! Super comfortable, warm and well equipped. The owners had also written us a Christmas card and left us lots of gifts which made the experience even more magical from the start. The walks around the area are truly breath taking and the only small downside was we couldn’t get out campervan near the property to unload due to the tight turn. Amazing holiday, would definitely return!

1 Orchard View is a beautifully cottage, renovated to a very high standard with attention to detail and tastefully decorated.

The kitchen is outstanding and very well equipped. All the bedrooms are very pleasant and the beds are comfortable. There is plenty of outdoor space which is steeply terraced with beautiful views of the countryside. Excellent location, just five minutes walk to the nearest pub/restaurant and ten minutes from the centre of Hathersage.

Well equipped , owners were very responsive and helpful. Parking was fine even with a large estate car .

Modern, clean and well equipped. Plenty of space for our family of four and excellent WiFi and smart TVs (essential when holidaying with teenagers!). The access lane is a little tight, as described in the listing, but we managed fine with our Ford Cmax. Would highly recommend.

Lovely comfortable cottage and well equipped.

The only issue we had was the plug wouldn't pop up when the bath was full so we had to lever it up.

This was one of the best cottages we have stayed in.

The showers were amazing, the property was really clean, it was very well equipped and everything was of a high standard. We used the stove in the evenings which made it very cosy and great that logs and kindling were supplied. Best of all was the location. We walked up to Stanage Edge in 45 minutes and there are lovely walks through the valley. Brilliant stay, thank you.

we stayed at 1 Orchard View for a week in the middle of March.

As soon as we got to the cottage we loved it. The terrace garden was absolutely lovely to sit out on at the top and just chill with a cuppa and a podcast whilst enjoying the view and the peace and quiet. The cottage itself had everything you could need and was like a home from home. Really comfortable and well set out. Hathersage is a great base for some lovely walks and running. There is a great 6 mile loop from Castleton, up to Mam Tor and back down, and also Stannage Edge is only up the road. There is a great running route from Hathersage all the way into Hope, just turn around when ever you want to come back!!!. The Tissington Trail is also a fabulous bike route with amazing views. Don't hesitate to book, we will definitely return. We can recommend the Old Hall Hotel in Hope for dinner and also The Royal Oak in Hurdlow.

Really lovely home situated in a beautifully picturesque village.

The whole house was spotless, and equipped with everything we could've needed, the welcome pack was great. We stayed as a group of 6, and there was plenty of space for all of us, and the kitchen table was a great size. Plenty of information in the guest book, and loads of good recommendations. We took a trip to Longshaw estate, Hathersage pool and the restaurant at the Scotsmans Pack. All were fantastic and highly recommend! Only thing we noticed, that isn't necessarily an issue but something to be aware of before booking is that the property is quite overlooked, and the garden is not secure. Didn't stop us from having a fantastic time and making use of the stunning garden though!

The cottage was very comfortable and warm and furniture and kitchen equipment of good quality.

It had everything we wanted for a weekend get together with family. Thank you very much It is an ideal location for walkers. Also liked the fact that that no dogs allowed in the property.

Brilliantly equipped kitchen.

Warm and comfortable. Very quiet. The only sounds at night were owls. How lovely! Hathersage is a great base for walking. Stanage Edge is just above the village. Mam Tor and other wonderful walks are accessible via train or bus. A good car free base A wonderful week in a beautiful place.

1 Orchard View is a fabulous cottage.

It is a great place to relax whatever the weather. We had a couple of cold days that allowed us to enjoy the log burner! We found that we could manage to get our Mondeo down the lane and into the parking space with care. Being located in Hathersage the cottage is a perfect base for local walks - we enjoyed a great walk from the cottage up to and along Stannage Edge - and also for local attractions such a the Longshaw Estate, Padley Gorge, Eyam, Castleton Caves, The Great Ridge and Mam Tor. We would happily book to stay at 1 Orchard View again. The owners are lovely and so helpful.

The cottage is very well equipped, very clean and perfect for our group of five.

We had lovely weather so really enjoyed the outdoor space. Great location too for walking into the village. Only downside was 9.30 checkout which seemed early especially when check in was 4. Would definitely recommend this cottage though. Thank you!

Perfect location for exploring Hathersage and the wider area. Lots of really nice touches in the Cottage, like tea and coffee facilities, and all really nicely maintained and clean. Looking forward to staying again!

Wonderful property in beautiful surroundings.

This was our second stay at Orchard View.

We love the area & the cottage is a fabulous base. We stayed with the same friends as last year & all felt that the bathrooms need a thorough clean. Mainly the excessive build up of mildew & mould around the silicone finishes. It’s a little smelly & feels quite uncomfortable when showering. Apart from this, everything about the cottage was great.

We had a fantastic few nights away in this gorgeous property.

The property was well positioned to reach the village and plenty of walks from the doorstep. It was clean and very comfortable and we wanted for nothing.

A fabulous cottage superbly renovated to a very high standard.

It had anything we could possibly need and more. The location is perfect for exploring the stunning countryside. Excellent food to be had at Maazi & The Bank House in the village and the local outdoor swimming pool is a must see. We had a great week and would love to return, would highly recommend.

We booked this cottage for a surprise birthday treat for my sister.

She was so overwhelmed, as were we. Fantastic location, stunning views. The property was excellent with everything you could possibly ask for, clean, comfortable and homely, with a stunning log fire. The kitchen was well stocked with every utensil you could possibly require, we even cancelled dinner reservations just to eat in the cottage. Lovely walks from Hathersage to Bamford Edge and back and even had a swim at Hathersage Lido. A Fantastic, beautiful, and cosy cottage with a modern feel. Thank you for making our short break a memorable one for all the right reasons.

A fantastic place to stay, beautiful cottage in a great location.

Only negative was that the adults who slept in the single beds found the mattresses uncomfortable, probably ok for children. Prosecco was a nice touch. Definitely stay there again

We had a wonderful winters weekend !

The house was warm and cozy, and everything we needed was there. It was the perfect location to stay with everything you needed just a stroll away! The owners of the cottage were very accommodating with our check out time due to unexpected snowfall. Would definitely stay again.

Very positive experience!

Loved everything about the cottage.

Very comfortable lounge, with nice leather sofas. Beds were super comfortable too. Bathrooms are to a very high standard, and the showers are super powerful! Found it hard to get out of them. Ideal location in Hathersage, with the town centre within easy walk. Pub is only a very small stroll away. Very friendly neighbours too. Parking is ok, takes a little to get used to which way to get in, but we didn't have any problems, and we have a Nissan Qashqai. Richard, the neighbour gave us some tips. We loved it so much we booked again for next year when we got home. Thank you.

Hard to find fault with anything, we had a lovely time!

I don't suppose you found a small green floral rucksack anywhere? Our 3 year old left it somewhere but can't remember where

Our stay was lovely, the house was lovely.

However, we were very dissapointed that there was no information provided indicating the shared access between the property and the neighbouring property. The neighbours were lovely, but it was a far from private rental. They passed by the kitchen window most times we were in there, and their washing was hung up on the approach to the house. There was only a mention of it being a semi detached property but nothing relating to the closeness of the access/living. I don't think we would have booked the cottage of we had known this at the time, although generally I'm glad we went.

The property was immaculate.

Very high standard. Kitchen had everything we needed. The garden was beautiful. We sat on the mid section and had a glass of wine looking at the cows and hills beyond. Very pretty location. The neighbors were all really friendly, made us feel welcome. Tv had Netflix so we were all really happy. It’s difficult to please a 15 year old boy and 8 year old girl! The car port had 2 spaces. The lane is narrow leading up to property but and a few moves later and we got in! We have a Tiguan which is not small and it was ok. We especially loved the Prosecco, bread, milk, teas and coffee!! So grateful for these extra touches it gave us a real feeling of being looked after on our holiday. The area is perfect lovely little village with good selection of pubs Scotsman pack was a favourite. Bank house brilliant for outdoor evening drinks and Sangams the curry house. Loved these. It really was excellent for Stannage edge walk straight out of the door and close to Edale and Castleton. Both 20 minutes in the car. Absolutely love the peaks we will return.

Lovely, comfortable and well maintained house in a great location.

There were a huge variety of walks from the doorstep, and lots more via the really good bus / train links (enabled some of the bigger ridge walks in the area without having to return to the start). The Scotsman's Pack pub nearby did great food and had very good service.

All five of us greatly enjoyed our stay in this immaculately prepared house with its unique terraced garden.

It gave us an extremely comfortable base to reacquaint ourselves with this part of the world.

It is so beautifully appointed, clean, warm and cosy. The setting is perfect, stunning views from the top of the garden, and close to all the amenities of Hathersage. We loved our week there and will definitely return!

A wonderful little cottage in a quite village location near lots of attractions.

This was a beautiful cottage, very well furnished and equipped, it was spotlessly clean.

The weather restricted our use of the stepped garden, however it gave fantastic views. The welcome goodies were much appreciated. A hairdryer would have been good as I did not bring one with me. It is in a great location for enjoying the surrounding countryside and Hathersage itself was friendly with enough shops and bars for us to enjoy and the open air swimming pool was a real treat.

A very attractively modernised, cosy and thoughtfully presented property.

Good facilities throughout, particularly the kitchen and bathrooms. Interesting and imaginative use of the sloping garden. Well located for Hathersage, which has a fine selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants, and for the surrounding countryside. The warnings about access by car should be heeded but caused no real problems. All in all, an excellent break.

The house was absolutely immaculate but also very homely.

It had everything you could have needed and more. Situated perfectly to explore the Peak District .

The property was fitted out to a high standard and well positioned.

It made for an excellent family time together at Christmas. Although we never met our hosts they were very supportive by phone. Our only small negative was the requirement to vacate by 9am. Most other properties permit 10am which is much better.

We thoroughly enjoyed our break over Christmas at Orchard View.

Superb cottage for a special birthday, clean and very comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing stay.

The Terrace Garden is the perfect location for sun-downers. Great location for walking, my legs are still aching. Hathersage has all the amenities you will need. This was a perfect break.

The cottage was lovely, very clean and comfortable.

The only drawback was the narrow driveway, but by guiding each other in we were able to park our average size family car in the spot provided.

Lovely to be in such a pristine, newly refurbished cottage.

It is well-stocked and enjoys a high level of comfort. We appreciated the tiered garden and BBQ facilities. The road access is a bit challenging but allows us to refine our driving skills! One minor suggestion might be to provide a washing-up basin for the kitchen sink, a small jug, and also a couple of trays? The very early departure time allows us to be up and away nice and early, but does put a minor shadow on the previous evening because of the awareness of the need to be packed and ready. I wonder if this is a covid-related arrangement which might be eased in due course?

Cannot fault the cottage, it was superb, everything finished to a very high standard and thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay.

Unfortunately we scraped the car trying to get through the gates and therefore both cars were parked on the road for rest of stay. Parking was okay during the week bit very difficult on weekends.

Fantastic cottage.

Immaculate inside and out. The facilities included everything you could possibly need. The terraced garden was amazing. Views from the garden were wonderful. Location of the cottage was perfect with lots of great walks starting from the village. We rented the cottage to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. Three couples used the cottage. There was plenty of space for us all. We will return soon.

Well equiped refurbished property.

Well done on this. A couple of minor points. The vehicluar acces to the property is really tight, in the instructions it did say small cars but needs to be emphasised more. The ensuite bathroom sink and mirror combination is far too small, the sink is so narrow the water splashes all over the floor when using. These are minor points but may be worth pointing out to future guests.

Wonderful cottage in a wonderful village.

Parking is quite tricky but possible with an average to small car and some confidence! Views from the top of the terrace are spectacular. Cant wait to return.

Excellent location, quiet yet a short stroll into Hathersage for all its amenities.

Cottage was immaculate, tastefully decorated and the welcome goods + prosecco were very considerate. It was very comfortable, all slept well+ we spent lots of time enjoying the view from the terraced garden and sitting on the sunny bench at the front. Great water pressure from showers + the bath was a bonus. Having the en-suite + family bathroom was perfect for the 5 of us. We would highly recommend this property. We enjoyed walking straight from the house to the stunning Stanage Edge, hired bikes to do the Monsal trail (Hassop Station does excellent food + traybakes) + visited quaint Bakewell. Recommend sitting outside having coffee at Coleman's Deli, excellent meal + service at Bank House, drinks at the Scotsman's pack by the river + if you can, book a swim at the outdoor heated pool. (Booking opens 7am on Fri for the week ahead) Another highlight was rescuing 2 ducklings with a neighbour as they had lost mum+ waddled up to the garden, but were happily reunited! (Re parking, we found it easy enough to park on the main road which is just a minute or two's walk away as it was tight to get in + out in our estate car.) We will definitely return as left with more we wanted to do! Thanks again.

A really lovely cottage and position, perfect for our stay, but the parking is a little tricky.

Orchard View is a stunning property and refurbished to a very high standard, and situated in a pretty little town which is a perfect location to explore the beautiful surrounding area.

Could not fault the house at all, lovely decor and everything catered for. However the only fly in the ointment was the parking arrangements, the website was updated with 'only suitable for small cars' after I had booked the property, which was for my family of 4 and two eldery parents. Luckily we managed to squeeze our car (not that small) into one of the parking spaces but my parents did not even attempt as their car was longer than ours. The website says plenty of parking 100 yards away, this is not the case - my parents had to park on the road, but quite a walk away from the house as the road outside was always at full capacity. I would suggest, 'parking on road on first come first served basis' would be more accurate. Having said that I would recommend the property as it's so lovely - but parking can be an issue. Very much appreciated the welcome basket which was a lovely touch.

Lovely, well presented, cosy & comfortable house with amazing views from the terraced areas.

The house is in a great position with walks all around & a good pub & a short walk to shops & cafes. So nice to arrive to a welcome pack of fresh milk, bread, tea & coffee etc PLUS a bottle of Prosecco.

Negatives: we did not use the two parking spaces, getting up the lane was too risky to damage our cars.

The en suite is too small, the hand sink basin is far too small to wash in, even just clean teeth. Positives: Great location, decorated to high spec, kitchen well supplied with all needed, extremely clean, comfortable, log burner so cosy and great there is no expectation that we had to clean it. Garden is so well thought out and looks stunning. Great views from there. Perfect, would recommend and stay again. Parking we got over, dropped out bags at the top of the lane, whilst other parked. Parked on the road outside. En suite, umm not so great as so difficult to use the hand basin to clean teeth. Needed to mop up water every time used. Check out longevity of water damage here.

Everything about this property screams class!

Every detail has been well thought out and communicated to the guests. Worth every penny. If you are in two minds of making a booking, please, please do not hesitate - you will not be disappointed. Fresh bread and milk are provided upon arrival and a bottle of prosecco! The cottage itself is absolutely stunning. The location is to die for! The views are simply breathtaking. I do not have enough words to justify just how highly I would recommend this stay. Thank you.

We had the best stay here!

Incredibly spacious and clean, exactly how it’s been described on the site - it also was a short drive away from lots of scenic hikes.

We absolutely loved our stay and thought the house was beautifully done out, super spacious and everything thought through nicely.

The location is fantastic too, and all in all we had one of our best ever country holidays. The only downer - which neighbours said is being looked at - is the tight gatepost manoeuvring required to park beside the house. Once that's sorted it will be a perfect! We would definitely go back, even without that change.

Beautiful cottage, clean, well equipped and very comfortable.

It would have been perfect, however please walk up the lane first. The combination of a very narrow lane, difficult angles and tight parking isn't really practical. It was quite a feat to get out and ended up knocking and braking my electric wingmirror. I'd advise not to take more than one car up and only a very small car at that. Parking on road was also full so I'm not sure where we would have parked.

We really enjoyed our break here - it's a beautiful cottage in a lovely park of the Peak District.

Very comfortable, clean and well looked after. The only 'but' is in relation to the parking space which is more than a tight turn to get into; it's also very narrow. Check access before you drive in - getting out was no easier & we managed a nice long scrape all down one side. I'd strongly advise parking on the road - unless you've got a small and high off the ground, vehicle.

Excellent property the best we've rented in the uk .

Very impressed by the considerable efforts made . Totally refurbished to a very good standard. Clean and well equipped . Could not fault anything.Very comfortable stay indeed . Access up the narrow lane is a challenge especially turning through the stone pillars so care needed especially if your vehicle is on the large side.

Absolutely wonderful stay.

This cottage was beautiful and sooooo clean. Perfectly positioned for a walk to the village and for exploring the national park. Would recommend staying here as it's super cosy inside. The steep garden means the picnic table at the top has the most fabulous view.
