28 Rock Mill Holiday Apartments

We had a great 4 night stay in the midst of the heatwave in July 2026.

The apartment was very clean and well set up, away from the direct sunlight as it is north facing. It was still a little warm of course, but the fan provided was very effective, especially in the bedroom with the windows shut to keep out the sounds of traffic.The kitchen was well enough equipped for small meals, and the shower room was very good too. Overall, excellent.

Considering we stayed during the second heatwave of 2026 we were surprised that there was no fan provided for our stay.

The flat was boiling! When we asked for one they couldn’t provide one until after our stay was over - there should have been on available. Moreover, we main window in the living room did not stay open, despite multiple attempts. This was less than ideal given the weather warnings during that week. We weren’t advised of this before our stay either or provided with a temporary solution. Lastly the front door to the flat jams making it really hard for open and close. Not great for elderly people.

We had a lovely week in the Peak District and this property was really handy for what we wanted to do during our break.

It was quite central for our visits to Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth etc. It was modern, clean and tidy, and was just as the pictures showed. We marked down slightly for comfort as the sofa is so awkward to sit and relax on. Additional seat cushions have been added but hadn't helped with the overall comfort. Also the bottom sheet on the bed was quite bobbly. These are just very minor things and didn't effect our stay at all. The road outside can be very busy, so you do get some traffic noise. We sleep with earplugs anyway so didn't effect our sleep.

The apartment was very clean and equipped with what one may need for a pleasant stay (refrigerator, stovetop, oven, cooking utensils etc.

its location was close to Chatsworth and surrounded by many enjoyable hiking trails.

The apartment was very comfortable and well appointed.

However there was a surprising amount of road noise at various times of the day, including the early hours of the morning. Other than that I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Perfect for two people and well situated for all of the Peak District.

We couldn't fault the accommodation and have already recommended to our daughter. We plan on returning next year.

We had a good stay.

The apartment is clean and new, with a lovely view. The communal areas are well kept and secure, and I love how there are facilities to clean muddy boots and leave them to dry overnight in a warmed locker. The bathroom in our place had a musty smell which is expected of a space with no window, but it was clean and tidy. Only other thing that made us knock off a star was the sofa. It was really uncomfortable, so I sat on the floor and kitchen chair mostly. We would stay again as it was a lovely base and really handy to have Cupola next door.

This place is a perfect stay centrally located to local hikes around the Peak District definitely would stay again apartment is very accommodating with it having everything we needed for a weekend stay.

Very impressive little apartment, ideal for the two of us on a hiking holiday.

The boot wash / bike store facilities are a great idea. Very friendly and helpful concierge too- made it feel a bit special!

Great short stay, property is ideally located for local walking, hiking and cycling.

The bike and boot wash are an added bonus, especially in winter. All in all a great property for two people staying in the 1 bedroom apartment.
