This place is honestly shocking, it's unbelievable that it is acceptable to rent out a property like this.

Firstly the walls are damp, notice I use the plural because virtually every wall downstairs has damp coming through. When you walk in the smell of damp is strong and it doesn't get better. The paint is peeling from the walls in large chunks and there is fluffy stuff that may be mould on the walls. It's disgusting. The downstairs toilet appears to be the worst with large sections of peeling paint. The door to the downstairs toilet has a large gap around it so that you can see in. At night there is limited lighting and overall the place is dinghy. You also cannot open the other front door, there is no key. The front door that you can use doesn't close properly and there is only one key. You also have strangers going in and out of the gate in front of the non opening door as they've seen fit to place the key lock box for other properties in the grounds of this property. The noise at this place is unbelievable. Single paned glass windows on a hugely busy main road, the traffic is constant and stops outside of the house as there are traffic lights. People seem to use the road as a speedway and there are constant revving cars and bikes. I also particularly loved the description "head out to the front garden where you can enjoy your morning coffee". The front "garden" is a brick area with a couple of pots with weeds in them, the front gate is broken and literally hanging by one hinge, there is nowhere to sit. Although sitting a few feet away from a constant queue of cars isn't where I would "enjoy my morning coffee". Of course we could have had our coffee next to the large sold sign in the garden or the refuse bin instead. The kitchen is acceptable in that it has a sink and cupboards. The fridge has no handle so you have to open it by grabbing the bottom and pulling. The dishwasher appears not to actually wash anything regardless of what setting you put it on and inside it's dirty. There are no glasses other than wine glasses. There is no washing machine which is a pretty basic expectation in a holiday cottage. The shower upstairs leaks into the fridge area downstairs and we had to put a bucket down to collect the water. We were provided with one lonely dish drying cloth for the week. Upstairs is just as ridiculous. The stairs are completely unacceptable for anyone with even a slight mobility issue. They are steep, narrow and dangerous. There is no room on each step to place a full foot and they are different heights. You have to use the bannister to basically haul yourself up to prevent yourself falling. One bedroom is acceptable but the other the bed has been wedged up against the window meaning that you have to crawl across each other to get out of bed. It's also for some reason a ridiculously high bed, very difficult to get in and out of. Despite the heatwave there were no fans in the house and no sheets or alternatives to the duvets on the bed. You could have your windows open at night if you're happy to sleep with constant cars less than 6 foot away and the smell of car fumes. The shower room is awful. There is no privacy film on the window (or on the downstairs toilet window) and the toilet is maybe 5 inches from the shower door giving you a tiny space to step out of the shower. There is no proper handle on the inside of the shower door so you have to open it by sticking your fingers in the top. There is a contraption on the wall for shower gel, shampoo etc. It's empty and knowing the rest of the property I cannot fathom why you would use it. Parking for one car "across the road" is also a stretch. Yes it's across the road, then down the road, then down a steep incline and finally the parking space is outside some sort of industrial unit/workshop at the back of some houses. Whilst the parking can't be helped at least be honest about it. Overall this place is disgusting, we unfortunately had to stay as I was here for a work event but we are leaving a day early now that is over.

The cottage itself was in a perfect position for visiting the area and really comfortable.

Did feel that it could benefit from a washing machine and airer. Also a key for the No 8 door would have been better as the gate was hanging off on No 7. Also some cleaning materials would help. But overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely use it again.
