Haybarn is very comfortable and spacious.

It is very well placed in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside.

The haybarn was spotlessly clean.

It is also furnished beautifully, with loads of space for your stuff, while you're there. The kitchen is very big and well kitted out with utensils, don't want to cook much when you're on holiday anyway! We would happily stay there again! The eggs etc from the owner. and her visit were much appreciated.

A lovely property, with everything we needed for a full Xmas Dinner.

Comfortable, and with lovely walks from the door. We even managed to access the Tissington trail from the property with an electric wheelchair! Layout very good, clean and well thought out. There is one step up to the lounge which may make it inaccessible for some users, but was not a problem to us. I am struggling to find any negatives, the only one I can think of is a bigger teapot! Luxury worries!

An amazing property!

Everything was there and we had a most enjoyable stay . Highly recommended. So clean and tidy and extremely comfortable.

Looking out at the cows and sheep every morning with fabulous scenery was bliss. Alison was the perfect host, fresh eggs, milk, tea coffee and biscuits on arrival was very much appreciated. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to cook. Beds very comfortable. Will definitely be back again!

Stunning accommodation, catered for everything you need.

. Warm, comfy beds, clean, spacious . The property is surrounded by lovely walks and perfectly situated for visiting Bakewell, Buxton, Ashbourne to name but a few.

The Haybarn is lovely, with accommodation and facilities that worked great for us.

The rooms are spacious with Grandparents having the downstairs bedroom and bathroom and mum, dad and the children upstairs. The kitchen, lounge and dining area are perfect for us. Great walking from the Haybarn and many attractions within easy driving distance. Alison was very helpful and on hand if required. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

The Haybarn is a really lovely place to stay.

It is beautifully maintained, comfortable, and cosy. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and has a huge amount of cupboard space for your own food. The bedrooms also have plenty of cupboard and drawer space. The bathroom and shower room are immaculate, with plenty of hot water, and the lounge area is comfortable. All this, set in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. A gem!

The cottage is very comfortable and spacious with a very well equipped kitchen and very spacious shower room downstairs next to the downstairs bedroom.

The one problem for us was the high step into the sitting room and kitchen but the owners said they were going to put a rail in which would be a great help for the more elderly visitors.

We were provided with a warm welcome, and lots of advice about places to eat in the area. The Haybarn is a perfect base for visiting Derbyshire and is close to Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne. It is also an excellent base for walking, with easy access to The Tissington Trail. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and look forward to returning!

This is a lovely, restful place to stay, with a wonderful atmosphere.

The owners have put a lot of thought into the decor and furnishings and the house is well equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. We were all very impressed and would definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay and everything was very good.

It was warm and comfortable and the location was great. Only a couple of minor things were that a soap dispenser and hand towel in the kitchen would have been very welcome and a few extra bin liners would also have been nice too.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was immaculate, spacious and well equipped for a family break in the Peak District. Fabulous location with beautiful views. We are already planning our next visit to this wonderful cottage.

We had a lovely stay , the Barn was very clean, very well equipped plenty of hot water lovely fresh white towels ,, outside area needed a clean up & windows not so clean , just an observation.

A floor lamp would make a nice addition to the lounge area instead of ceiling lights , a walker’s paradise, very quiet and peaceful we enjoyed our stay thankyou

.... EVERYTHING you could possibly want there, even to providing a top sheet on the beds. EVERYTHING clean and SPACIOUS. 'Clap hands' for Alison and her husband for providing such a home-from-home to explore the area. In a great location to do this too.

Fantastic property for our weeks stay in the Peak District.

The Haybarn is an ideal holiday location - we had an amazing time there and have already booked a return trip!

The location of The Haybarn was perfect for us as it is close to a number of walking trails (we enjoyed walking parts of The Tissington Trail on an evening), but also has easy access to towns such as Buxton and Bakewell - lots of things to do to satisfy a broad range of interests and ages. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and well equipped, as well as beautifully decorated - we had everything we needed. Alison was a fantastic host and came to our rescue when there was a local power cut - she contacted the power company to find out what happened and a timescale for the power to come back on and brought us a camping stove to allow us to make a hot drink whilst the power was down. The kitchen was well equipped had we wished to cook within the cottage, but there were a number of good places to eat nearby. Thank you for a lovely stay!

It is beautifully laid out and maintained and very comfortable. It is near to the Tissington Trail for walking and cycling and near lots of other beautiful places. The house is in a beautiful setting with views over the hills and dales. The owner is very friendly and helpful

The property is of the highest standard.

Very clean, well equipped and well maintained. The owner is friendly without being intrusive we cannot recommend this venue to highly.

The Haybarn is very spacious and well equipped, it feels like it’s all brand new within a traditional building.

I think people should be aware there is a fairly substantial step up from the hallway to the living room as I particularly booked this cottage because there was a level access shower and ground floor bedroom for my dad to use. A handrail at this point would be very beneficial. The place is absolutely spotless, the views are incredible it’s very quiet and quite remote, 10 mins to the nearest village which has beautiful views and cafes. You could easily get there by bicycle and there is a locked up mini barn/garage to put your bikes in. Nearby walks it’s totally ideal for a quiet retreat and plenty of room. It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. It is a credit to the owners. So enjoyed our week with our family exploring the Peak District.

Had a fantastic week, at this first rate property, which was absolutely fabulous.

It was well equipped, extremely clean and very comfortable. During our stay a couple of issues arose that we’re out of control of the owner Alison, who regardless, went above and beyond to rectified things, keeping us continually informed. Would highly recommend this lovely barn conversion and we intend to return.

The Haybarn was immaculate.

A warm and comfortable base with a friendly, helpful and responsive owner. There are three generously furnished double bedrooms, a big kitchen with more than ample cupboard space & worktops. It's also in a great location for walkers and cyclists or indeed for anyone wanting to explore the Peak District. Highly recommended and would love to return.

This is the second time we have stayed in the property.

It is in a beautiful location among the Derbyshire hills and dales and very near to the Tissington trail. The cottage is comfortable, clean, well equipped and furnished to a very high standard. There is also a bike store. The owner is very responsive

This cottage is outstanding, we have rented many cottages over the years but this in are opinion is the best absolutely outstanding in every respect.

The cottage was very clean, comfortable and quiet, loved listening and watching the cows.

Ideal base for visiting the dales. The only downfall is lack of outside space but this didn’t effect our holiday and would not stop us from revisiting.

we were very impressed with the house, the house was very very well decorated, and clean, the beds were very comfortable, kitchen and bathrooms were fantastic, the area is wonderful with a wonderful pub called the coach and horses, just down the road, food and staff were excellent will stay at another of there houses as soon as i can.

This is a really lovely stone barn in the middle of rolling countryside.

The Tissington Trail is a short walk away, along with other footpaths and so is a great base for walkers and cyclists. The interior decor is beautiful, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms high quality. The owner was very accommodating in providing a non- slip mat for the shower on request. All in all we had a great stay. The only very slight negative was having to go out shopping for toilet rolls! It may having been stated in the info that these are not provided, but if so, I missed it. So remember to take some with you.

The cottage is clean, spacious, warm, comfy beds and well appointed with everything you need in the kitchen and plenty of hot water for our family of four. The only thing I would is that we stayed for two weeks but only 7 dishwasher tables and two toilet rolls were left so take plenty with you. The owner did say to ring her if we needed anything but I don’t think we should have had to ring her as these should have been left. The cottage ia a credit to the owners.

The Haybarn is close to a main road so is accessible but it’s only the sheep that you can hear from the house.

It’s spotlessly clean and lovely and warm. We were back for our second stay. This time the weather was great and the walk down to the River Dove was enjoyed many times. The silence on the way down was breathtaking.The lambs in the fields were an unexpected bonus.

Really nice property.

Very warm and comfortable. Excellent kitchen with plenty of dishes, pots and utensils. Loads of cupboard space. Spacious bedrooms, luxury shower rooms. The tiniest of niggles was the need to buy toilet rolls!

The Haybarn is everything you could possibly want from a cottage.

From beautiful views to superb facilities, the cottage is very well appointed, comfortable and cosy, and the ideal place to be for great walks (Tissington Trail, River Dove) or just for sitting outside with a brew and enjoying the peace. The owners are lovely, and nothing is too much trouble if you need any help. We’ll definitely be back! Thank you :)

We very much enjoyed our holiday at The Haybarn.

The cottage was tastefully decorated and furnished throughout with an amazing kitchen thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. Comfortable beds, great showers, and cozy heating contributed to a first class stay.

We have stayed in many Sykes cottages over the years and I think that this one was the best!

Excellent location for visiting Buxton, Bakewell, Hartington, Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. Also easy access to Tissington Trail and Dovedale for great walks. Very comfortable and roomy with every item that you could possibly need in a holiday cottage. The weather behaved too!

Great location for walks and cycling right from the door with the River Dove in walking distance and the Tissington trail in sight of the cottage. We enjoyed sitting on the patio, whilst watching the owners cows and sheep in the neighbouring fields.

It was incredibly clean, well equipped and really comfortable, and the views from the cottage were fabulous. It's in a great location, near Dovedale, Alton Towers, Chatsworth and Bakewell.

Idyllic country home with rural views, peaceful and comfortable amenities.

Well equipped and very comfy beds. Central to visiting Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock and many more. Would definitely recommend for that escape to the country!

A big thank you for a top sheet on the beds and not a mountain of cushions to move.

Excellent accommodation, very friendly host, good walking direct from the cottage yet not far from the main road between Buxton and Ashbourne.

Excellent stay in well equipped cottage (would have liked a sieve or something similar for draining rice but a minor issue!

). Lovely location and beds very comfortable. Weather warm enough to sit outside and enjoy the long views westwards and across to the Tissington Trail. Enjoyed a circular walk down to the River Dove and back through Biggin Dale and then along the Tissington Trail back to the cottage (approx 7 miles). Also cycled both directions on the Tissington Trail which is practically on the doorstep and being elevated for the most part has fantastic views - probably the best off road cycle trail we have cycled so far in this country. Lockable cycle storage barn a real plus for anyone bringing their bikes. Will be back to cycle the other trails in the Peak District. The only concern I would have if there in the summer heat is not being able to open the window for ventilation in the ground floor bedroom since it is adjacent the road and cannot be securely opened a fraction and is only secure therefore when kept shut. I'm sure a solution could be found for this.

We had a fantastic time from the moment we arrived until the moment we left!

We had 2 teenagers and a small worry was that the WIFI would be awful but it was actually really good and reliable (which was great as my son needed to do some revision for his mocks). The underfloor heating was a bonus as well, as we even experienced a snow day! The barn's kitchen has every utensil you could want and I even got the teenagers to cook on 2 nights, which they enjoyed doing. We would love to come again, with the Tissington Trail on your doorstep, this is a walkers/runners/cyclists delight!

This is a lovely property.

It was spotless. The house was beautifully warm which was particularly good for a cold week in February. We could have done with a few more pans and plates but we are maybe quite unusual in the amount that we cook for ourselves.

I thought the cottage was immaculate.

Plenty of facilities and a great base for exploring the peaks. Would absolutely return, and highly recommend to anyone else.

Spacious barn in a delightful rural setting, recently converted to a very high standard.

Comfortable, well equipped and immaculate in every respect. Location is perfect for walking and cycling, with good road access to towns and attractions. We will be returning, it is a fabulous holiday cottage.

THe cottage was very clean, comfortable and equipped to a high standard.

The owner was friendly and helpful. We are keen cyclists and the property was situated only about 200 metres from the Tissington Trail, which also leads to the High Peak Trail. We had some great cycling on these trails and around the nearby villages. The cottage was also situated not far from the A515 Ashbourne to Buxton road which made getting to other sites like Dove Dale and Tissington very easy. All in all a lovely cottage with scenic views and lots to do and see!

Although there are 2 other cottages next to if, belongs to same owner, there is no disturbance at all. Alison was very prompt in her communication and very helpful!! Very quiet location with easy access to Peak District!! Highly recommend!!

Beautifully situated, remote but close enough to various towns and villages. We will be coming back.

Lovely cottage & the host is lovely.

Only thing I felt might be useful was blackout curtains in downstairs bedroom as a lot of early sun coming through. Also a shelf in the bathroom. Would definitely return.
