Dale View Cottage

Just a beautiful location and cottage.

So peaceful! Great location in the Peak, transport links a short walk into Matlock and Bakewell & from there much further afield. Very recommended!

Clean, comfortable, very quiet location (up narrow lanes) and near to main Peak District walks and locations.

Well equipped cottage with plenty of room for 3/4 people and a large dog. Good quality furnishings ad equipment.

Dale View Cottage is a converted barn and is done to a very high standard.

It is well equipped and very comfortable set in an idyllic position in a quite rural setting. Ideal for visiting the Peak District area.

Very comfortable accommodation, lovely outside space and very well equipped.

Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Property was lovely, clean, comfortable and as described.

We found the property to be very clean, kitchen well stocked with catering facilities and it was a very relaxing place to stay.

The last quarter of a mile to the cottage was down a very narrow lane so you needed to be aware any oncoming vehicles. No parking issues on site though, and very easy to get into Bakewell . We had a very relaxed stay there and we would be happy to return.

Lovely welcome gifts to start our stay.

Beautifully located, very quiet with great scenery and walks from behind the cottage. Kitchen well-equipped and appreciated the ability to recycle as not all cottages seem to support this. Living room allowed plenty of space to relax and the bedrooms comfortable, one was very spacious. John the owner was amazing and very supportive to help sort a slight issue we had during our stay. Can’t fault anything.

We loved the place.

Everything we needed was there with clear instructions for arrival. It was perfect. We would love to return to this cottage.

The cottage was very clean beds cosy.

. could do with more baking trays for cooking. My dog loved looking out of the window on the stairs. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely be coming back again.

What a location!

This wonderful cottage had everything we needed for our stay. It is tastefully and practically furnished and the views are breathtaking. There is so much to do in the vicinity, from fantastic walks to the many attractions, towns and villages.

The cottage was very homely and clean.

It was well equipped and perfect for our short get-away with our dogs. It is in a really quiet place but in easy reach of all Peak District towns etc.. We loved our stay, thank you.

The electric kept tripping on the first night tried to contact the owners with the numbers on the sheet which was in the kitchen when we arrived but didn’t come back to us.

Lights kept tripping the box. The last night while in bed could hear a lot of scratching as if there was mice or rats in the attic. Beautiful location

We loved the property and the surroundings are beautiful.

There is everything you would want and need in the property but could benefit from another chair in the lounge. We will be back in the future as we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the cottage.

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a beautiful are.

We spent three days walking and found the cottage superb

Nice cottage could do with nee mattresses they were thin and uncomfortable and the 2nd bedroom is way too hot with the boiler being in there.

Great location, well equipped, very clean and organised cottage with ample parking.

Beautiful garden. Ideal for our party of two couples and 4 medium sized dogs. Would highly recommend.

The perfect cottage, giving us exactly what we wanted.

Went in July, during this time of year it is impossible to sleep upstairs as it gets boiling hot, 2 of us had to sleep downstairs in the lounge.

I could sleep in the bigger room as fortunately we brought a fan with us. I think there should be fans provided at least so the guests could get a decent night's sleep. Other than this it was great, the location is lovely and it is nice and quiet. Nice walks around the place too. We liked the country views etc. Everything was clean and in working order. Just loses points due to the extremely boiling hot bedrooms upstairs with not much temperature control, despite having the heating and the water heating turned off all week.

Great location for exploring the area.

Beautiful views from the property. Very peaceful. Property well equipped. Only one down side, the mattresses were very tired and uncomfortable making for a poor nights sleep. Shame because everything else was spot on!

Lovely, rural property with great hosts.

Charming cottage, clean, comfortable and great location.

Excellent property in all respects.

A beautiful cottage that was clean and very well maintained.

Lots of lovely walks and not too far away from places to visit. Will definitely add to our places to re vista. Thank you for ensuring our stay was perfectly relaxing.

Beautiful cottage lovely location and equipped with everything you need.

Would definitely recommend and would definitely return ourselves.

Excellent accomodation and facilities.

Great location.

Lovely, cosy cottage in beautiful setting, well equipped, comfortable & clean.

Lovely gesture from John, owner to allow us to stay on longer too! - thank you.

Christmas 2024 - Two adults, 4yo and a dog.

This was our first time going away over Christmas and we absolutely loved it. The cottage is in the perfect, quiet location in the dales with a small brook running alongside it. Waking up Christmas morning to that sound and overlooking tranquil fields was idyllic to say the least. Property was great - kitchen and lounge were good size for us and has everything you need for a base in the Peaks. Owners even had a real Christmas tree up for us which was a lovely touch. Made it magical for our daughter. Two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs were very comfortable. You will get a great sleep here and very hot bath. Door to property is cold and it took a day or so to get the heating right, but the radiators have thermostatic valves so after a couple of adjustments it was perfect. Recommend changing upstairs radiators to 3 and having thermostat in the kitchen set to 19 during the day. Location wise it is excellent - you are in a very quiet area with a pretty much unknown dale walk right on the doorstep, but then it's just 15 mins drive to Bakewell and only 30 mins to Chatsworth. Thank you to the owners for an excellent place to have our Christmas stay. We already looked into coming back in January for a couple of days

A beautifully renovated and maintained cottage in exquisite surroundings, quiet, sublime and easy to get everywhere, we loved it.

Lovely, clean and well appointed cottage in beautiful, peaceful rural location.

Near neighbours included llamas, goats, horses and peacock.Great spot for walking from the door and for access to other nearby places of interest. Owners very helpful and attentive.

Very clean property in a very quiet location.

Would highly recommend.

A lovely well kept cottage, in a delightful quiet country location, ideal as a base for exploring the peak district.

The cottage was very clean, and kitchen well equipped with virtually everything we needed.

Lovely, cosy cottage.

Very clean and had everything you need for a stay. lovely location.
