Description

This mid-terrace cottage rests in the market town of Dronfield, in the North of Derbyshire, just south of Sheffield and east of the Peak District.

This tastefully styled cottage is ideal for a small family or group of friends planning an outdoor break with easy access to the Peak District or looking for a base for exploring the numerous attractions in the area.

Enter into the kitchen to find a well-stocked setup of appliances to satisfy your culinary needs, along with a dining table where all can gather to enjoy a fine meal while discussing the day’s events.

Look forward to unwinding in the sitting room at the end of your day, with a large corner sofa to support you, plus a woodburning stove and Smart TV to keep up with all the latest entertainment.

Upstairs you can find three bedrooms; a super king-size double, double and a twin room, offering the perfect arrangement for a family to get a good night’s rest amongst the magnificent countryside settings.

Outside you can relax in the front or rear garden whilst contemplating how to spend your day, whether it be taking advantage of the amenities of Dronfield or heading into the Peak District to see the natural beauty of the region.

Just across the road is a 500 year old pub, The Green Dragon Inn, which serves a classic British menu and regularly hosts live entertainment.

For a more adventurous day, why not explore the mysterious caverns of Castleton or a trip to the ever-popular Alton Towers theme park?

An excellent choice for families, any time of year.

An incredible cottage.

I went with 4 friends, all of us aged 19. It looks just as it does on the photos and has everything that you would expect. We hope to come back soon.

The house was lovely - lots of space, nicely decorated, clean, well equipped kitchen, and fully functioning bathrooms.

The location was peaceful, and convenient to visit both city and country.

We had a lovely week at Snape Cottage and found it to be an excellent base for exploring both Sheffield and the Peak District.

One of the biggest advantages is the easy access to Dronfield railway station, making day trips into Sheffield incredibly straightforward. We enjoyed exploring the city, shopping, visiting museums and eating at Cambridge Street Collective. The surrounding area is fantastic. We loved walks and drives through the Peak District, with Bakewell and the Ladybower/Derwent Water area being particular highlights. Hardwick Hall is also well worth a visit if you’re interested in history and beautiful grounds. For food and drink locally, we’d highly recommend The Blue Stoops, which became a favourite during our stay, while The Manor House is a lovely spot for a relaxed drink. Overall, if you’re looking for a well-located base to explore South Yorkshire and the Peak District, Snape Cottage is a great choice. We packed a huge amount into our week and came away feeling we’d only scratched the surface of everything the area has to offer.
