Description
This lovely stone-built cottage is an annexe to the owners home, on the outskirts of the village of Rowsley, less than 3 miles from Bakewell and Matlock.
As theres an abundance of activities to suit all ages in the area, this cottage is equally ideal for a couple or a small family.
You enter the cottage into a modern kitchen with Belfast sink and granite work surfaces, then onto a spacious sitting room with dining area which fills with natural light and looks out to the beautiful gardens.
A couple of steps down from the hall is the tasteful bathroom with elegant fixtures befitting this period property, and upstairs is a spacious and light king-size en-suite bedroom, and a twin.
Outside, theres a sheltered and private courtyard and you are free to stroll the beautiful gardens which are teeming with birdlife and the occasional visiting sheep from the neighbouring farm.
Cyclists are well catered for as the cottage sits at the base of Rowsley Bar, which is listed in the top 100 climbs in Britain.
The Peak Shopping Village designer outlet is just a few hundred yards away, and some of the best gastro pubs and fine dining restaurants in the region are within walking distance.
The majestic Chatsworth House is less than 3 miles away, and head a few miles in one direction to amble around the pretty market town of Bakewell or a few in the opposite direction to enjoy a ride in a cable car, a steam train or a horse and carriage in Matlock and Matlock Bath.
Other nearby local attractions include the Crich Tramway Museum, Carsington Water which is a lovely spot for a picnic, Dovedale and the Tissington Trail, a 13 mile route starting in Ashbourne.
Whenever you go, there is lots to see and do making this a perfect cottage base.

What guests are saying
A lovely & comfortable stay, perfect for a weekend visit to Chatsworth.
Well positioned for reaching all areas of Peak District, had we been staying for longer. The biscuits much appreciated too- thank you!
A very relaxing and stress free break was had recently at the Old Farm House, Rowsley.
Prior to arrival at the property, our host answered our last minute questions promptly and on the day, we were informed we could arrive earlier to book in. This was much appreciated after a long drive. The property was located in a great spot, between the main towns of the local area with roughly a 15/20 mins drive between them. It was a charming and very clean house, spacious for our needs, and well supplied especially in the kitchen. I have no hesitation at all in recommending the Old Farm House and in fact I intend to return with my family later next year. Josephine, our host, was charming and very helpful, and runs a lovely relaxing holiday home which I would strongly recommend as a base to explore the beautiful Peak District. Thank you
We had a lovely week, the cottage was everything we could want and the owner was very friendly and welcoming and incredibly helpful.
We would certainly like to go back.
