Had a lovely stay in Manor Cottage, so comfortable, clean and cosy.

A great outside area that is a suntrap for the lovely weather we had. Ludlow is a beautiful place with lots to see and do, very friendly locals. Will definitely stay again, thanks Phil.

So lovely to return to Manor Cottage.

We stayed 10 days this time …7 wasn’t enough last time. Cottage is clean, light, comfortable with everything you need. Phil was a very kind host. Hopefully will return again.

Absolutely loved Manor Cottage just what we were after, great cottage to have a lazy day or two just to unwind and recharge.

Very comfortable, loved the sofas lol. Great sized kitchen. Rooms and beds comfy. Not to far from Market place of Ludlow and easy walks to all pubs and Ludlow brewing company and train station. Definitely will be back. Thank you.

Spacious well equipped cottage.

Convenient for Ludlow town centre & also for surrounding area via nearby trunk road. Ideal patio area for our dog. Communication with owner was excellent. Lounge was cosy with comfortable settees. Overall excellent.

We had a lovely stay at Manor Cottage.

It is very well located for a quick walk into the heart of Ludlow town centre. It is also well placed to get out into the countryside and enjoy the views by the river and overlooking the castle. The cottage itself was very comfortable and roomy enough for the 5 of us. It was well equipped. The outdoor space was very much appreciated (the fact that it had some in the sun and some in the shade was perfect!) The living spaces were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Would be handy to have a mirror in the smallest rooms (we have found it quite often that the smallest room tends to lack some of these additional pieces). We would definitely stay again as there is a lot more to see in the area. We would like to thank the owner for his hospitality.

Dog friendly tiling in large kitchen/hall and stairgate to prevent them escaping upstairs with very secure fencing in rear garden.

We had an excellent time in Ludlow and Manor Cottage was great everything you wanted we had wasn't stuck for anything.

The location is amazing , just up the road and you are in town .

Lovely cottage, perfect position to explore Ludlow, actually was closer than we expected.

Beautiful and spotlessly clean throughout, with a welcoming kitchen and comfy lounge. The three bedrooms, were all comfortable and spacious with lovely fresh bed linen and it was a definite bonus having the downstairs bathroom. Host was extra helpful and happy to let us park ahead of checkin time. Would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed spending Christmas at Manor Cottage, it was very warm, cosy, clean and well-equipped.

It's was really quick and easy to walk into Ludlow which is a beautiful town. The cottage is on quite a busy main route into town but as the windows do not face the road you are mainly unaware of it; there's lots of parking space, too, and an elevated patio at the rear looking out to the hills beyond the town. We would very much recommend this property and thank you, Phil, for being so helpful and communicative.

Great position 5 min walk to centre we had a very enjoyable stay looking forward to returning in summer.

We had a lovely holiday which came at a really sad time.

The cottage was spacious, lovely and well equipped with everything you needed and more with some nice touches. For example, some milk left in the fridge and fresh flowers. One bedroom had 2 single beds in and therefore could accommodate 5 guests. There is off road parking and could accommodate 2 cars. The host was lovely, visiting us a couple of times to check we were ok and to wish us well on our travels. We managed to visit many areas in and around Ludlow- Worcester cathedral, Shrewsbury, Blist Hill Victorian town and had some lovely meals out. I would definitely recommend the Athena Greek restaurant, The George too. The Tapas not so good! Ludlow centre is probably more than 5 minutes walk from the cottage I would say 10-15 minute walk with a steep hill, but once you get into the centre it’s lovely. Places to eat and drink close early so make sure you go out early. The locals were extremely friendly. The weather was sunny all week except for 1 day when it rained in the afternoon. Overall it was a great stay!

Lovely cottage which was clean, comfortable and well equipped.

The owner called round to check if everything was okay and sais if any problems during our stay we could contact him. The cottage is perfect for Ludlow town centre and all its amenities. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the cottage.

We loved our stay at Manor Cottage.

It was very close to the town and Castle being around 10 mins walk. The cottage was well equipped, with everything you need, including a freezer and a dishwasher ( not listed in details) There was a useful paved area at the back which was secure for our dog to explore, and it would be good to sit out in sunnier weather . The cottage was cosy and warm to come back to after a day exploring all the dog friendly shops and Castle. Ludlow is a nice little town, with plenty of pubs and restaurants. We will definitely book again.

Fabulous cottage, well equipped with everything we needed for a family Christmas week away.

Even included dishwasher tablets and washing liquid. The living room is small but cosy & warm with reclining sofas but the best part is the huge kitchen with a lovely big table where we could all eat together and play board games & cards (a selection were even provided). Large fridge with good size freezer too. Bedrooms were comfy and having a downstairs loo was very handy. Phil was an exceptional host, always on hand if we needed anything. Only a 10 minute walk into Ludlow which is a beautiful town. Parking available for 3 cars that close to town is very rare. The only downside we had was continous rain but no on can be blamed for that. We had such a lovely holiday and I really didn't want to leave. If we visit Ludlow again we will definitely try to book Manor Cottage.

We stayed in December and the cottage was cosy and warm.

It is clean and well equipped and very well positioned for visiting Ludlow and the wider Shropshire and Herefordshire area. Pluses: comfy sofas, good lighting, warm bedding, good kitchen equipment, hairdryer provided. Parking was straightforward, not too tight. Suggestions: single bed mattress not brilliant. Towels are provided but a hand towel in the downstairs toilet would be good.

Good size for our family of 4. Very well equipped. Friendly owner. Some areas of the property were not very well maintained, and there was a damp odour in some of the rooms, but overall we had a nice stay.

Side Gate and Back Door a Bit Sticky but we dound the front door key and that was fine

It was lovely and cosy. It had everything we needed and was well kept. It was a good base to walk into Ludlow and enjoy the sites. The owner popped round to check everything was ok which I thought was a lovely touch. I’d recommend staying here.

Excellent cottage - immaculate, comfortable, well equipped, good parking, within 10 minutes walking distance of Ludlow town centre, very dog friendly - secure yard, 5 minutes walk from nice dog walking park, no extra charge for pets.

Manor Cottage was very comfortable, well-equipped and well furnished.

It was clean and tidy and a perfect location for walking into Ludlow town centre and the surrounding area. It was spacious enough for our family of four adults and dog and it was great having the enclosed paved rear garden to sit out in (when the weather allowed). We would recommend this property to other visitors to this area.

We stayed in December, a cold and frosty week.

Manor cottage was fresh, clean, comfy and very warm. It is located a short walk from the town centre on a fairly busy road. This may be a little noisy in Summer when windows are open but we barely noticed the traffic noise during our visit. Gallows Hill is 5 mins from the cottage and a brilliant space to exercise your dogs. We would definitely return

Great cottage with 2 very accessible car parking spaces. Spotless cottage and well insulated and heated. ( November holiday). Easy walk into Ludlow. Wi-Fi super. Would stay again when in this area. Great location for visiting other market towns too.

The location was brilliant.

The beds and sofas were extremely comfortable. There were books about the local area and a variety of DVDs. The outside area was secure for the dogs. The property was clean and well maintained. We would definitely book it again.

I've only put "Met Expectations" because I've been before and so knew what to expect and wasn't disappointed.

As before this is a great place to stay close to Ludlow town centre. Phil is very welcoming and keeps a well kept cottage with everything you might need for a happy stay.

A very easy house to stay in, very convenient for all the charms of Ludlow.

The BBQ + charcoal was great. As were the local guidebooks and OS maps, much better than the pile of random leaflets you often get. The beds were very comfortable and the pans were the best we have ever seen in a rental accomodation. A couple of minor niggles...quite limited on the number of wine glasses. The parking took a bit of getting used to, as the visibility coming off the driveway is not great, but we coped!

We had a wonderful stay in Manor Cottage and was a great location to travel and visit places in the local area.

The property was more than ample for four people and two dogs. The kitchen was particulary well stocked with all you would need to produce family meals. Thank you Phil for an excellent stay.

We did mention to Mr Lewis that to provide a set of nest of tables in the sitting room would be very helpful.

When relaxing, having the use of a small table to put your drink,snacks etc, would be helpful. The second thing was the poor WiFi signal strength. Often the connection while using went down. We did again mention this and he said he would sort it. This was our second visit. Apart from above, we would certainly return again.

Five minute walk into Ludlow town and ten to local railway station. Great location for exploring beautiful Shropshire, Herefordshire and Powys. Excellent value.

As in the past everything was perfect. the only reason I have not ticked the "Exceeded Expectations" is that I all ready knew what to expect and wasn't disappointed!

Our main comment is that unlike most holiday rentals there was no booklet explaining how things work.

For example, it took a while to sort the oven and we needed to get help with the TV. But we did have a comfortable stay, with parking and easy access to town and surrounding area.

The cottage was booked for four adults and a child, however there were only four chairs at the dining table which made meal times difficult as did a shortage of cutlery, and wine glasses.

Clean comfortable and we'll equipped cottage within a five minute walk of glorious ludlow centre.

Safe enclosed outside area enjoyed by meg our dog. Would visit again and recommend to family and friends

It's close enough to stroll into town and to use for a base for excursions by car (avoid going through town centre if you can, it gets busy).

Clean, comfortable, convenient

This was the most comfortable place we have stayed in with reclining settees and very comfortable bed.

Phil welcomed us in and came to say goodbye when we left.We will definitely be going back just a short walk into town. Can’t fault the cottage in any way. 5*

Lovely stay in a lovely town

The cottage was well equipped, comfortable and perfectly situated for a 10 minute stroll into Ludlow centre.

The River Teme is also easy to walk to, and breakfast at The Green Cafe was simply delightful. The walk up The Long Mynd was our highlight - we'll be back to do this again. A great holiday with all the comforts of home.

As You can see by my feedback, Monor Cottage was a great place to stay.

Everything you needed was provided here. We settled in very quickly. It was 'home to home'. Mr Lewis came and introduce himself shortly after we arrived, which we appreciated. This was the first time we had visited Lunlow. What a fantastic place. So much history, wonderful buildings and countryside. I would recommend a visit to the museum. Great walks, especially along the river. There are so many places of interest within a short drive of the town that we didn't have the time to visit, so we will be returning.

Another fantastic stay at Manor Cottage.

This was our fourth visit to Ludlow and as usual we were not disappointed. Following a warm welcome from our genial albeit unobtrusive host Phil we set about exploring the Marches and hitherto unfamiliar parts of Mid Wales. We thoroughly recommend the Elan Vally, a mere fifty minutes drive through stunning scenery. For those, like us who have a horse mad eleven year old in tow the nearby North Farm Equestrian Centre provides some lovely hacks through Mortimer Forest. Excellent dog walks too. Similarly, Darky Dale Riding Stables near Befstone provides much enjoyment in surroundings that leave an indelible impression. Returning home to the ease and comfort of Manor Cottage always provides a bonus. A mere five minutes walk takes you to the Queens where a warm Shropshire welcome and a truly excellent menu awaits. Here's the secret - Ludlow provides amazingly good value for money. We often proclaim 'how much!' and not for reasons one might expect. Thanks Phil; thanks Shropshire; thanks Ludlow. 3 minutes walk into the town. Amazing places to eat .owner very pleasant man . Had a fabulous week . Will definitely be returning.

`Holiday was great, cottage was as good if not better than last time with the addition of a dishwasher and new fridge with freezer.

Lovely house, easy to access, easy to park, well considered faciities, comfy bed, warm and cosy and walking distance from the town.

Ludlow was as lovely as ever.

Manor Cottage is very nice and easily accommodated 4 adults and 2 dogs. 10 mins walk to town. On a busy road and near the railway line, but dong be put off by this as it wasn’t noisy at all

The cottage inside was lovely although could be improved with a larger fridge or fridge freezer .

The setting at Ludlow is ideal as close to all amenities, however the outside area is just a yard of flags not a pleasant outlook and furniture was a picnic table with seats attached . It could be improved with nicer outdoor furniture some pot plants etc . My dog didn’t like flags and struggled to toilet so bare this in mind if you have fussy dogs like ours . The owner is very pleasant also.

We think the cottage actually undersold itself.

Good location, whilst on a mainish road there was not an issue with traffic noise. Cottage was larger than portrayed,extremely clean and well equipped. The owner was friendly without being intrusive, and it was nice knowing he was around if needed.

This was our 2nd stay at Manor cottage (this time for 2 weeks) and equally enjoyable.

Will be happy to go back again in the future. Great location for exploring other places and situated within a short distance of walking into Ludlow with its lovely buildings, shops and market.

Directions to property were spot on.

Cottage is on a 'main' road but we were never disturbed. Lovely bright kitchen with everything could need. Comfy lounge with leather recliner settees and big TV. We had few problems getting Freeview to work but Phil the owner was on hand. Really convenient for Ludlow town just up hill 10 mins most and downhill way back. 3 bedrooms and bathroom plus downstairs toilet. Heating on when cold and as Famous Five say lashings of hot water. Great to relax after hard days touristing! Great base for Ironbridge, Much Wenlock, Church Stretton and beyond. So many scrumptious restaurants in Ludlow, great Thai and India, Pizza and really convenient Queens (pub) need book. I could go on praising this cottage and Ludlow but want to go back don't want be all booked up.

Owner was close at hand, pleasant and very helpful.

The backyard was rather dreary. The place would have been considerably improved if there were some nice pot plants, particularly as the cottage was located in a not very pretty part of the town.

Short walk to the centre of Ludlow, which is a lovely place to spend a long weekend. Cottage has private parking and is dog friendly. Highly recommended!

Lovely week away.

Cottage very well looked after and very comfortable. Parking was excellent and access to the town very convenient. Even though on a main road in to the town the cottage was very peaceful. Ludlow itself is very beautiful with great markets and shops. There are many dog friendly pubs with beautiful log fires and good food. All in all more than excellent.

It is a 10 min walk into town up a hill - quite manageable unless you are not 100% fit so worth being aware of

Manor cottage was a nice clean base for the delights of Ludlow and Shropshire in general.

Great little cottage in the lovely historic town of Ludlow

Excellent location, helpful but unobtrusive owner, once he checked we were settled he left us alone which was appreciated.

All amenities except for a proper freezer. Water was always piping hot and cottage cosy and warm. Roomy and clean and we will likely rebook. Bed was too soft for me but then I need an orthopaedic mattress for my joint problems, so not a criticism just own personal need. Fab restaurants in town 5 mins walk away.

Could not lock onto Wi Fi, but that could have been me.

A folder showing local attractions, cafes etc rather than a heap of out of date leaflets would be helpful. Otherwise everything very good.

To be fair you met expectations, our expectations of our Sykes holidays are very high anyway :)
