This accommodation was in a perfect spot for us, quiet but close enough to the town, with some lovely independent shops, albeit you need to be fit to walk up & down the hill.

We parked 2x cars comfortably on the drive and didn’t use them all wknd. The house is bright and modern and had everything you need for a short break, the owner left us milk, cookies and coffee pods. The beds may be a little short if you have someone tall in your party, but comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and spotless, we liked the environmentally friendly loo rolls. There was loads of room for our dog to wander around & they had bowls if you forget yours, note there isn’t a secure area to let them out without a lead but we found a little woodland walk just past two houses up the hill to let her off. We walked to the cable cars to go up to the Heights of Abraham in about 30min, would recommend that for a half day adventure (dog friendly). We had a quiet, old fashioned pub meal about half mile up the hill at The Sycamore Inn, excellent plate pies and a great Sunday roast in the more modern Remarkable Hare. The owner was very responsive to any messages I sent before we arrived. We would stay here again.

Yew Tree Cottage is a delightful place to stay!

It had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. We loved the modern decor and the balcony, which was great for a cuppa in the afternoon sunshine. Access was easy and parking good. One of our party has mobility issues and the shower was a little too difficult to negotiate, but apart from that everything else was very suitable for him. Adrian, whose wife runs the cottage, was very friendly and helpful. All in all we had a great short break!
