Description

Cavendish Cottage is an attractive, semi-detached cottage located in the popular town of Matlock, Derbyshire and overlooking the Derwent valley.

Within easy reach of the Peak District and Gulliver's Kingdom, this holiday home offers a family-friendly retreat for four guests.

Find convenient on-street parking in front of the property, before unloading your belongings and getting your holiday started!

Enter via the enclosed front garden with a lawn and patio, a lovely spot to savour a hot cup of tea in the morning sunshine; this attractive cottage has contemporary, sleek features throughout with rustic furnishings to retain a cottage feel.

Set the dining table for four in the gorgeous kitchen/diner, with soft tones, wooden countertops, and excellent amenities to rustle up your favourite meals, including a range cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer.

After trekking through the Peak District, the warmth of a woodburning stove awaits in the sitting room; sink into the plush seating, put your feet up and watch a family-favourite on the TV.

The rear, enclosed garden is another social spot to dine alfresco at the outdoor seating or let the little ones play safely with your canine companions!

Find a beautiful, contemporary bathroom to hang your towel on the heated towel rail and choose between a relaxing bubble bath or a hot rinse in the spacious walk-in shower, before retiring to one of two bedrooms.

A double and a twin room complete the property to curl up under the sheets ready for the next day's adventures.

The centre of Matlock offers fantastic self-catering amenities, including shops, pubs, restaurants, and cafés to fuel your day, alongside family-friendly attractions such as nostalgic trips on vintage trains along the Peak Rail and plenty of parks to picnic and play.

Take a short journey into Matlock's neighbour, Matlock Bath, to admire the displays at Matlock Bath Aquarium and arcade, take a cable car ride on the Heights of Abraham with cavern tours and exhibits, or treat the kids to thrilling rides at Gulliver's Kingdom.

Families seeking the great outdoors have the Peak District on their doorstep; pack your walking gear and venture along hiking trails through stunning landscapes, spot an abundance of wildlife and pause at quaint villages for lunch.

Bakewell is a historic market town with plenty of tearooms to choose from, as well as the popular Bakewell Bridge and The Old House, a Tudor house from Henry VIII's reign featuring local artifacts.

If you're hungry for more history, Haddon Hall is a medieval manor house just south of Bakewell, with a grand Tudor hall and Elizabethan gardens to explore.

For more amenities, the larger town of Chesterfield provides plenty to keep the whole family entertained, from cinemas and theatres to Tapton Golf Course!

Enjoy a memorable family holiday at Cavendish Cottage all year round.

Lovely cottage, very clean and modern.

Had everything we needed. Easy parking outside property. Lovely woods for dog walks a short walk up from cottage. Lots of dog friendly places to eat in the evening. Was able to walk in the town in the evening and used uber cabs about £6 to get back.

Beautiful, immaculate and clean.

Loved the bathroom although instructions on how to use shower would be handy, but otherwise no complaints. View from bedroom impressive, waking up and being above the mist in the valley. Very peaceful and dog walking area just along and across the road. Recommend The Sycamore Inn for great food and friendly welcome.

Spotlessly clean & comfortable accomodation.

Large, brilliantly equipped dining kitchen (loads of table knives - a fault with most holiday cottages !). Comfortable lounge (except for very low armchair), smart TV & useful table. Bedrooms spacious & lovely bathroom with large shower. Good communication from owner. Garden with outdoor furniture. Our little dog gives it 5 woofs ! Our second stay and won't be our last.
