Perfect location for visiting local area.

As it was one of the hottest weeks we stayed, the house got warm very quickly, blinds on the glass panelled doors would have been ideal to close during the day. Other than that, the accomodation was the cleanest we've stayed in.

A fantastic little place full of charm and character.

Conveniently close to Matlock but far enough away to feel peaceful and secluded — ideal for a relaxing getaway. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it.

The Bottling Shed was lovely - Central to many beautiful places to visit and perfectly equipped for a comfortable stay.

The chocolate and wine was an unexpected treat on arrival and communication with the owner was friendly and reassuring. The hot tub was the perfect way to end the evening and ease our aching legs before heading off to for a good nights sleep. We were a little disappointed with a few things; we found pieces of glass on the bedroom carpet and the bathroom floor, there was food residue in the microwave, which had to be cleaned before we could use it, the front door was a little difficult to lock/unlock and open, I banged my head on the newel post whilst going up the stairs (I’m only 5’ 10”), and most alarming was finding what appeared to be blood stains on the duvet, when we stripped the bed before leaving. That said, we had a lovely time. We would definitely visit again and recommend The Bottling Shed to others. Thank you.

Lovely place to stay on the edge of the Peak District.

Close to town, groceries and petrol. Has all the amenities required (but could do with non-stick pans). Hot tub and a log burner are lovely, definitely worth it!

Very cosy cottage, heating was good, along with wood burner.

Shower was good.Bed was comfortable. Good view over looking Matlock. Hot tub worked well. Could do with better sofa, much too low. Need table lamps either side of sofa. TV could be bigger. Reception was intermittent. Could do with a shelf in shower/toilet above basin and in shower, hooks on inside of door. Need a bigger blind in bedroom, too bright in morning, a 'black out' blind would be good. Overall thought the cottage was good value, enjoyed the walks to Matlock along the River Derwent.I

Warm, clean and cosy (the bed was not comfy to us but everything else was delightful) Kitchen well equipped - sharper knives and maybe lids for the saucepans which are on the small side - but these are really minor gripes - we do a lot of cooking from scratch and it had everything we needed) Sofa great to relax on - lots of cosy throws and cushions - and the hot tub was just terrific.

The Bottling Shed is a beautiful place to stay no matter what the occasion!

We wanted a peaceful romantic getaway with a hot tub and that's exactly what we got, beautiful views and a really cozy feel to the whole place. The owners kindly left a bottle of wine and some chocolates for us witch was a nice touch and everything provided for us was fresh. Check in was really easy - a key safe on the wall and there was an instruction manual for the log burner and hot tub which was really helpful! We will definitely need staying here again and can't thank the owners enough for a lovely weekend stay.

Next to river and countryside walks.Nice country pubs close by. Easy to use hot tub for star gazing, chilling and log burner to cozy up to after. Peacefully quiet. Would recommend.

A lovely little cottage, generally well equipped.

We found the sofa too low! The hot tub was lovely. It would be good to have a toilet roll holder fixed to the wall in the bathroom. According to the guest book, the owners always left a bottle of wine for guests - so we were disappointed not to get one!

A great little cottage perfect for 2 guests in a picturesque location with lovely walks into Matlock.

The bed was very comfy and the hot tub fab! Unfortunately we couldn’t use the log burner when it was cooler on our last night as the lighters were both empty and we don’t smoke so had nothing else to use! A small table for outdoor dining would be good too. Definitely recommend to others and we would return too!

The property was lovely we found the bed and pillows very hard and uncomfortable.

But everything else was spot on very clean and tidy.

The bottling shed is a beautiful, relaxing place to stay with lots of things to do in the surrounding area including the beautiful chatsworth house.

It is very clean and comfortable, with beautiful views and the handiness of a Sainsburys just down the road. The bed was slightly uncomfortable with the mattress being a little on the hard side for my personal preference but that is the only thing that I can say that is negative. I would stay again and be very happy with the relaxation the bottling shed brings.

The property was immaculate inside and out.

So there's not much more to say. The only two criticisms would be, the freezer was frosted up so much that the draws were near on impossible to open so perhaps the last occupier should turn off the fridge freezer as they leave. . And perhaps a safety grab rail in the shower cubicle would be helpful.

We had a lovely time at the bottling shed, great location, really clean and very relaxing.

We made great use of the hot tub and will definitely look to book again in the future.

Wonderful stay, the cottage was beautiful and very clean, it felt so homely and cosy.

The location was perfect, within walking distance along a nice riverside path into Matlock but in a quiet, peaceful spot in the countryside. We especially loved sitting in the hot tub (which was one of the best standards of 2-person hot tub we have seen) and looking out onto the view of the fields, everything had been well thought out with the the patio sitting area and the privacy wall. Also the large reserved parking space was a nice bonus. Would definitely recommend The Bottling Shed!

It is a lovely cottage and location.

The kitchen was a little small, even for two, but come prepared; it will be a great place to stay. If you are over 6ft by a significant amount, the lounge area may be challenging, but the rest is not a problem. Overall, it is a great place to stay, and I would recommend it.

Fantastic weekend at a beautiful cottage.

Property was clean, as described, and the bonus of a hot tub & log burner was wonderful to help relax. Only tiny piece of constructive feedback I can give is that the mattress on the bed wasn't the comfiest, and could probably do with replacing.

Just returned from the most relaxing stay at The Bottling Shed.

The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. The Bottling Shed has everything you need for your stay and we were even greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine and biscuits. The views are amazing and it is so peaceful and quiet. The Hot Tub an added bonus for an evening of relaxation. Would highly recommend this property and we will be returning

A fantastic stay in a beautiful, homely cottage… We loved our 5-night stay at The Bottling Shed and would highly recommended for your next mini break.

Perfectly located, in peaceful surroundings, around 5 minutes from Matlock and Matlock Bath. The countryside views were wonderful and the welcome treats were much appreciated. The inside of the cottage was open plan and very cosy complete with log burner and central heating. The seasonal Christmas decorations were a lovely touch. The private walled courtyard, complete with hot tub and patio area was a great place to relax. By car, we visited Bakewell and Haddon Hall which were under 20 minutes away. The beautiful Monsal trail with Chee Dale stepping stones are only 25 minutes away. We saw Ashbourne, Milldale village and Dovedale which were around 30 minutes away. Further afield, we got to Hope Valley within 40 minutes which includes Bamford Edge, Ladybower reservoir and Derwent Dam. There are two supermarkets only 5 minutes away by car (M&S and Sainsbury’s). We had some great food in the Peak District. We’d highly recommend Lovage in Bakewell, The Duncombe Arms in Ashbourne, The Bulls Head in Holymoorside and The Bluebell in South Wingfield. Matlock Bath has several fish and chip shops and The Seafood Cave & Grill. We also ate at The Fishpond while there. For brunch/lunch and a sweet treat, Butter Fingers in Matlock was amazing! Thanks so much for a lovely mini-break.

A truly stunning little place the perfect get away for two not far from town or a shop couldn’t have asked for a better stay will definitely be returning !

Exceptionally maintained, the only thing we thought was missing is a hook on the bathroom door.

The location is perfect plenty to see and do. Would visit again if staying in the Peaks.

Just had the most Amazing three night stay here at The Bottling shed .

The cottage was immaculate. Cosy well equipped with everything for a perfect stay. The views are stunning , so peaceful and so close to Matlock and Bakewell. The hot tub really made our stay one of the best . Perfect place to relax and unwind. We will definatley be booking again. Thank you .

Perfect mini moon getaway.

Really good location, super clean and homely. Hot tub was the icing on the cake. Only thing which could have made it more comfortable would be a king size bed

Lovely little cosy cottage to stay in, with great views & it's so peaceful & quiet.

Thoroughly enjoyed the relaxation in the hot tub, especially in the dark evenings, with the lights on. Even though the cottage is pretty small, it seems to have everything you need.

Well equipped although nowhere to dry wet towels & hot tub costumes, small airer in bathroom which we moved outside. No windows in bathroom so nothing dries unless you put the radiator on, ok for winter but not in warmer weather. Could do with a clothes airer for outside. No ‘hot tub towels’ - be useful on website if this was specified so guests know to bring their own. Stripped bed on last day as requested, took the mattress protector off & there is a huge, absolutely disgusting stain in the middle of the mattress - this is unacceptable & should be changed IMMEDIATELY!

We genuinely can't thank you enough, for all communication leading upto and during our stay, it was extremely clean, beautiful accommodation, surrounding area was amazing, lovely locals, parking facilities, free wine and biscuits on arrival, the hot tub was perfect.

I have told so many people about this place and how beautiful it was, we had the most amazing time so thank you. We will definitely be back at some point x

In easy reach of local facilities but still in the countryside so very quiet.We really enjoyed are stay and would go back again in the future.

Stayed at the bottling Shed for 3 nights and it was brilliant, just what we needed, the place is lovely and has everything you need, very clean and the hot tub was clean and private.

The location is great, it's secluded and private and only a few miles from shops and restaurants in Matlock. We really enjoyed staying here and would deffinetly return.

Absolutely superb, wonderful place, comfortable and so clean, everything catered for, absolutely 5 star
